The episode Gem Vacation is in my opinion one of the worst episodes of this series because it feels like the writers were just making fun of you for wanting answers about the diamonds and home world and choose to focus on Steven just whining that Connie won’t see him to me this episode feels like it was made as a joke and even the voice actors were in on it.
I agree that episode and the secret tape episode(Lion 4?) felt like episode’s meant to make fun of the viewers. Lion 4 was about a secret tape that ended up being a huge thing until sike no it was a mishap. And felt like a jab at people for looking into different aspects and hints they laid out

I think the shows main story arcs would have been somewhat more believable Had the villains been less Grimly written. The main villains of the show are genocidal, psychopathic, racist dictators, those are not the kind of characters an audience is going to want to forgive.

This Video is a Overdramatization on my overall issues with the show and while I do personally dislike the show I don't care nor does it bother me if you enjoy it. I was one of those people who overly enjoyed the show until I grew out of it. I was always excited about the show because I kept waiting for a new episode to release because of those hiatuses. In 2022, the show ended 2 years ago and I now view it differently. The show distracted me into finishing cartoons like regular show and adventure time. What I used to think of the show before was that it was enjoyable. But now when I look into it at 2022, the show was pretty mediocre. If I'm ranking the show in a tier list then it would go to D because the show lacked decent animation, pacing of a story, and a good message. I understand that people have different opinions but even with that I don't understand why many like the show. The show is overrated and mediocre and whenever a new episode comes out, people like me in the past always foreshadows this show to be the greatest ever created when it's far from it because every episode is boring because of its animation and the concept. The show also makes people believe that Rebecca Sugar is a god of all knowledge and creation of animation. I know writing a story isn't always gonna be perfect, but an episode for cartoons based on magic needs to be exciting (sometimes) and meaningful, not boring and meaningless. Great video btw. I'm not hating the show I just dislike it.
It wasn't pretty mediocre it was pretty good actually. Nah it had decent animation, good story pacing at times, and it had a good message. This show perplexes me. I'm a full grown, 40 year old woman and I love cartoons, I always have. 40 years of perpetual childhood and I DO NOT GET THIS SHOW. Was it supposed to be bad? I tried to watch it several times and thought maybe there was something wrong with me. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the animation is sh*t and the story is so dull I'd rather study medical journals from the 80s. Whoever thought a space epic about lesbians would be so dull and stupid. I'll stick with ninja turtles and smurfs.
the biggest problem SU has is that it relies on its story to be actually worth watching. i remember watching regular show for the first time and my first episode was the "peeps" episode. i didn't watch the show right from the beginning and watched multiple different episodes unorderly, but it was actually still enjoyable for being funny and not having to rely on a story that was episodes before. a good story + funny and enjoyable without story this made regular show one of my favourite shows of all time and i always stayed up late to watch it on CN since the airing was kinda late after some time. the first time i watched SU i was watching that episode of steven crying, and i was so bored i switched to boomerang and waited until another show aired on CN. the story isn't even that good compared to the other shows on CN to be honest. and you have to learn about this story straight up from start to finish to ACTUALLY like it, if you even can like it with that boring story. even TTG is better than SU, TTG is a mid show but it can be funny at times. and i actually enjoyed it as a kid, people just think it's fart jokes but it's more than that. SU's only competitor to being one of the worst shows on CN is uncle grandpa, but even uncle grandpa had one good character named pizza steve. i just don't understand why you'd want to get invested in such a boring show from start to finish to have a mediocre experience, when there are way better shows out there that are funny and dont rely on story solely: gumball regular show and even TTG
Steven Universe annoyed me for the fact that Pearl was a slave who had romantic feelings for her master, and that’s kind of messed up. Also, the fact that most of the characters are just the most awful people I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting: Ronaldo and Mayor Dewie, specifically.

The show’s biggest problem for me is it tried way to hard to be a big thing what made shows like teen Titans and even shows like Batman the animated series and JL and JL unlimited great was they didn’t do big story’s or world building it did an episode only also the characters and writing were amazing but in Steven universe they wanted to make all the characters likeable and that hurt them the writing isn’t great and man they art style is just bad but at the end of the day if you like the show good for you just be ready for people to make fun of it or hate it
Don't get me wrong I hate this show, but I watched it when I was 11 and I have very fond memories of the alive fandom that would make bizarre theories and bully children. Despite how ridiculously terrible this show is, it will always have a special place in my heart.

i actually agree with a lot of this. Even tho I dislike the show from a writing standpoint a lot of the hate videos on it are more about other agendas vs how the show from a writing perspective. ive seen the ezpz videos good for entertainment but not for critique
not everyone hates it.. I still love this show, though you've got to take the good with the bad. There is good things this show brings (for example I love the soundtrack and relate to the characters) but everything he lists is a reasonable cause to dislike/hate it
