the biggest problem SU has is that it relies on its story to be actually worth watching. i remember watching regular show for the first time and my first episode was the "peeps" episode. i didn't watch the show right from the beginning and watched multiple different episodes unorderly, but it was actually still enjoyable for being funny and not having to rely on a story that was episodes before. a good story + funny and enjoyable without story this made regular show one of my favourite shows of all time and i always stayed up late to watch it on CN since the airing was kinda late after some time. the first time i watched SU i was watching that episode of steven crying, and i was so bored i switched to boomerang and waited until another show aired on CN. the story isn't even that good compared to the other shows on CN to be honest. and you have to learn about this story straight up from start to finish to ACTUALLY like it, if you even can like it with that boring story. even TTG is better than SU, TTG is a mid show but it can be funny at times. and i actually enjoyed it as a kid, people just think it's fart jokes but it's more than that. SU's only competitor to being one of the worst shows on CN is uncle grandpa, but even uncle grandpa had one good character named pizza steve. i just don't understand why you'd want to get invested in such a boring show from start to finish to have a mediocre experience, when there are way better shows out there that are funny and dont rely on story solely: gumball regular show and even TTG

Strangely, there is something addicting about this genre. It’s basically able to establish its own stakes and there’s so much room for creativity. I hope we are able to see more of the death game in the future.

For me, it all comes down to three problems, or four technically. First, fan service, we all love fan service but they incorporated it so much that it just felt like the series was just a shipping garbage fire. Im fine with star being with tom for a while since it just builds up development. But why in gods name does marco decide to build a harem? (Hekapoo, star, kelly, jackie) and you know what, i wouldve been happy if jackie was the only other person marco was "with" since as i said, it was just development and it was obvious star was gonna be with marco. But for example the kelly one even got to the point where they even kissed, but what happens the next episodes? Absolutely nothing, its like it never even happened. Second point, filler, filler is a normal thing in a lot of shows but the way that 90% of svtfoe season 3 and 4 even though theyre strictly lore based, it just becomes filler, and the funny thing is, if they took some of that filler and made it where star and marco got together, nothing wouldve been wrong with the end because it wouldnt have been rushed and they wouldnt have to pan between star and marco ship and the literal war going on. And last but not least, "No direction." thats the only thing that this show screams to me after eclipsa is introduced, like, absolutely nothing of importance happens, yes i guess the racism between monsters and mewmans but even then, they didnt execute that correctly as you said and I agree, its like there was no plan/rushed. But it wasnt, there was time and planning behind this, and they decided to turn it into this. And for last my opinion on the show, yes, i still absolutely love this show, even though there is so many problems and it ending breaks my heart, i love the starco ship, and i love the "romance" moments they get, but, its just way too many problems for me to be biased and say that star vs the forces of evil is a good show in general.

bruhhh, why so many people love Eclipsa?, she's incompetent, she had good intentions but didn't know how to be a queen for the mewmans, I understand because her real people was the monsters, but that's no reason to change the status quo on that way, it's for her fault that Moon take the stupidest decision she can take (I still thinking that is not completely justified with her racism and the way that the mewmans goes to the forest because they lost their houses) pd: I think that no have a real villain it's ok in a story, because toffee it's just machiavellian, not evil, I understand why so many people wants a villain ppd: I'm not saying that the show is amazing, I can see it has a terrible ritm

Apprently as well. In season 1 and most of 2's development. the show had writers from avatar the last airbender on it's team which honeslty expalins alot. In season 1 the show was great at juggling a large cast of major and minor characters as well as having a slowly building overarching plot. However in 2 you can really feel the show starting to buckle and that's beacuse the writers left to go make dragon prince halfway through season 2's creation. this explains A LOT about what feels so off about seaosn 2 as it's essiently Daron Nefcy startign to to take direct writing control and the old writers leaving. This would explain alot about seasons 3 and 4 and esepcially when some earth characters like Jackie or Janna feel unfinished and like they had something in the works to be revealed but it went nowwhere. Most likley left over plot outlines from the avatar wrriters.

Yeah ok just gonna weigh in here. On something that nobody talks about/has mentioned yet in everywhere i have read. As i re watched the finale i think i got it. I think i got why the finale upset me so much. It was a subtle writing flaw that ticked me off as a writer that i didn't get until now. But now that i do ii understand why i still have issues. Simply put i let myself be confused by her wanting to stop mina. This is not important in the long run. What upset me so much was that Star never considered all the problems for others not on mewni without magic(or the spells) . what star did was the antithesis of the whole show, she became what she hated, a queen making a big decision for everyone else without actually considering the wants and needs of others. That is why i was so upset. When you break it down that is so against what Star's character is that it's downright upsetting. It sort of just...Makes her what she hated so much. Someone who makes decisions for others, saying it's for the best without asking anyone else. Literally her entire problem with the commission was this very thing and them lying about it saying ti was for the greater good of mewni. She basically does the same thing that feels so wrong Its just... So selfish. And there are no real consequences or fallout of this that affects her in a negative personal way It makes Star almost into a Mary Sue Everyone loves her and accepts her decisions no matter what and faces no consequences for her actions She kills magic and gets the guy in the end Simply put it makes star a hypocrite. Think about it. Star is litteraly a giant hypocrite by the end of the series and nobody points this out or addresses it. Heck even most people pointing out the problems of the show DON'T point THIS out either.
