The other Jason... Maybe I'm the other jason because he was Jason before I was... Jason designed used some 6mm magnets from Amazon that fit better in the 'keeg. It left him room to put them on an adjustment screw so you can change the tension on the fly. This was 4 days after my first ever pota activation and about 3 weeks after my first ever CW QSO so you probably have me logged as some sort of DX station out of Easter Island or something as I still didn't know code then so who knows what callsign I sent you. The 2nd QSO was June 27th 01:18 you hunted me at US-10067.
I sit corrected, you're right. It's been a minute since I've checked. Nah, I flipped back to my logbook for 17 April and your call has no scribbles or fill ins. Sent like a fine scholar, I'm sure. Hunted me at the home park, Fort Ord Dunes State Park.
RGR OM! I went out and bought an ATAS so I can be cool like you and K9KJ, so now I can quick scurry out to the truck and try to hunt you and the other Jason when I get a hamalert. Also happened to be when I was holding my todler so I was trying to control him, listen to you, stop him from grabbing my key, and not let him break off any of the knobs on my dash all at once. We made it happen though! Glad to get you in the log a third time.
@@CoaxAndCampstools hahaha! Love it man. The ATAs rocks. My son is 20 months and my favorite thing is he knows I have a live key (connected to my winkeyer) so when he comes in my office/shack he likes to squeeze the paddles to make sounds. I hope he’s interested in CW as the years go on. 73
The only improvement that I see that needs to be made to your key, is replace that electrical tape with duct tape...it'll add 5 WPM easy! Seriously though, I can probably drop some magnets (and a dead cat for your mic) into an envelope and fire it off to you if you want.
Duct tape +5 WPM, but clashing colors at least -3 WPM, Lol. I appreciate the offer. I figured out that I need to tuck my mic under a couple layers of clothing and it works ok so long as I don't smack it while I'm talking. I'll be moving east shortly, away from the constant wind of the Monterey Bay, which will hopefully mitigate my wind issue. I'll rain check you on that :)
