  • I marked out chapters so you can skip the minutes of me calling CQ, but left it all in there so you could go line by line between what I'm sending and what the logger is recording. I'm pretty happy with how the logger works, especially considering it's near zero effort on my part. I was able to pull all the callsigns out. What was interesting was I was sending a call right as 2214 turned to 2215, and it split VA3U on one line, and Z to the next. That's the only broken call I was able to see.
    Gear used:
    K6ARK EFHW Antenna Kit
    DXCommander Expedition 10m Pole
    Elecraft KH1
    CWMorse SP4 Paddle
The copy/paste from the KH1 internal logger has two changes:
    1) I had to change the brackets around the line header from the curly brackets to square due to TH-cam formatting requirements
    2) I double spaced the lines for readability. They print with zero line spacing.
Note: [M1] Indicated my first stored message, which is CQ POTA etc...
Can you find all the calls?

very helpful, particularly for those of us waiting for the KH-1 delivery

It's worth the wait, I really enjoy it. This is my first Elecraft and I don't have really anything to complain about. By far the easiest radio to do Firmware updates I've owned. The sidetone is so much better in person than in recordings.

Thanks for posting this video. It's really helpful to see how accurate the internal logging is. I'm still waiting for my KH1 and I think I'll be using the internal logging quite a bit.
Have you tried viewing the log on the KH1's display? I'll be taking it on a road trip next month and I won't have a computer available for downloading the logs.

Honestly, I didn't even know you could look at it on the KH1. I looked at the log from this weekends' SOTA, and it is as good as it could be with the little screen that the KH1 has. You can scroll through the log with the VFO and display 32 characters at a time, beginning with the last thing entered in the log. Characters fill the top row, then automatically jump it down to the bottom row beyond 16 characters. The first thing it pulled up was the last thing I sent, so I was able to read through my last QSO and my "QRT 72 DE..." no problem.

@@CoaxAndCampstools Thanks for taking the time to look at the log on your KH1's display. Very helpful information and I appreciate it!

Other than that it does not transcribe when you send BT it seems very accurate to me.

I agree. I really can't complain too much about it, especially for how set-and-forget it is. At first glance it seems like a lot of gibberish, but I've been able to find every call once I sifted through everything. What's really nice is the time stamps on everything. I'm horrible at writing the times down, so It's nice to have something else keeping track in case I miss one.
