BACK IN 2008 • “September Grass” by James Taylor | live from the “James Taylor Hommage”

On September 21, 2008, together with my friend and musical colleague Rocco Basler, I gave a “James Taylor Tribute Concert” called “Fire And Rain - The James Taylor Homage” in the Nicolaikirche in Auerbach, Vogtland, Germany. This concert was the last of a total of unfortunately only 6 concerts that we gave with this program at the time and that's why I asked our friend Marcel from "All Orange Music" to record the concert professionally. Luckily, because today... more than 16 years later, we have dug out these recordings again, processed them and edited them together with some amateur film recordings as videos for my TH-cam channel. Today's video shows the previously unreleased recording of the song "September Grass", the opening track from the album "October Road", James Taylor's 15th studio album, released in 2002. Unlike most of the songs on his albums, this one was not written by himself, but by a songwriter friend named John I. Sheldon.

The rhythm in the song comes from a loop on my Boss RC-50 Loop Station, which I played and recorded in advance during rehearsals at home with real percussion instruments and my hands.
