JamesTaylor one of my all time favorite folk singers He just commands respect .Beautiful voice that just keeps getting better the older he becomes. Sing on James your Number one for sure!
I absolutely love ❤️ the song, yet this performance having been archived is so special . I saw him early on at a CWP college theater in the round ...Thank-you for sharing your thoughts. I'll send this forward to friends and family
He was my husband's favorite, and now he is coming to Detroit. I wish I could take Tom to see him, but alas, Tom is gone. I really am enjoying this. Listening at work and smiling and laughing out loud, I'm having so much fun. I think James Taylor is one of my own favorites too.
Timeless music embedded in our memories that will go on long after many of the other genres fall out of favor. I listened to James throughout the 70’s and 80’s and still do today. My children now listen to James and I hope will carry on the tradition with their children.
I love everything James Taylor everyday his music 🎶 his music is timeless I have all of James Taylor's music I am so thankful I grew up in the era of real music 🎵🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎶🎵🎸 James Taylor should be inducted into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame if he is not already. Right
Thank you so much for posting this. There will never be another James Taylor. Hope everyone lucky enough to see him on both of the upcoming tours enjoy them. Can't wait to see and hear the photos, videos and clips as well as reviews.❤❤
Just seing this concert again, its perfection and infinite beauty, almost makes me emotional since I have watched it a countless number of times after it aired on a PBS (I had even bought a high-quality VHS tape just to record it). and I am reminded of how truly special it is and that James Taylor is one of the greatest songwriters that ever lived. Thank you, JT!

Truthfully, I feel a certain kind of jealousy when I see young people, much much younger than James Taylor’s generation flocked to his concerts, gigs. I know its kind of selfish but I feel our generation of the 60s and 70s can truly relate to the music of James Taylor. Our generation has undergone a lot from Vietnam War, the scourge of drugs, civil disobedience, social and political upheaval(Watergate) , etc. Many did not make it but luckily far too many survived to this day. And these scenarios we shared with the generation and music of James Taylor, Carole King, et al. But now I came to realize, I can’t own JT. His artistry and talents, struggles and successes have to be shared by all peoples of all ages, those older , younger and in between and for generations to come. Love you James. 💕And love you Carole💕
One of the best JT concerts of all time! Glad you were able to upload the entire show. My three sons have this show memorized after I had made a copy back in the day with my VCR that played nonstop. To this day when JT comes to Michigan we attend, most recently seeing him at Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant last August. Never disappoints!!!
Oh I love this song fire and rain this song makes me think of a bad lover for I had this song makes me think of a bad love affair that I had a few years ago started out great but it ended up fire and rain
@@lkronquist I used to have this concert on tape, too. My mom recorded it when it originally aired on PBS. Except for the first song “Something In The Way She Moves” for some reason. I don’t know why.
Just posted to a link that I found with more info. I saw Don, Lee, Carlos, Rosemary Butler, Arnold McCuller (sp?), and Bob Mann (I think). Some faces I did not recognize.

The live version of Fire and Rain is probably the best I have seen. The slower tempo makes it so powerful.

My parents taped this concert for me in 1988, & OF COURSE I wore it out!!!!! Is this what is now the Emerson Colonial Theater?
Great audience too!
James R. Taylor Silhouettes
Happy belated birthday to the one and only James Taylor 🎉
No cell phones!
This is great just for the version of Up on the Roof! Wow.
This was on the NPR fundraising nights so often.
Oh I love this song fire and rain this song makes me think of a bad lover for I had this song makes me think of a bad love affair that I had a few years ago started out great but it ended up fire and rain
So on "Fire And Rain", Bob Mann didn't come out on stage and play until the 3rd verse. I wonder why?
James. Sweet Baby James Taylor is so beautiful
❤😊❤
The volume is too low. It needs to be louder.
Oh, yeah. Pretty weird. Really great performance otherwise. Please fix!

Hmm ... the link I posted is not showing up. Maybe not allowed. But the ones I listed above are all I knew for sure ....
Dan Dugmore guitar and pedal steel
Recorded much too low to watch
Hate the tone of that crappy Yamaha he's playing.
