Respect, my dude! I also like to repair and keep my tech running as long as possible. And just like you, I've had this exact laptop for over 10 years. Thank you for the step-by-step video. It's a huge help. Funny how after over 10 years I find this video that's only 3 months old explaining exactly what I needed for my exact model. Great minds, half a world apart, I assume.
Your welcome! My videos are geared towards someone who wants to do a job, but isn't exactly sure how or what is needed. That's why I always link all the tools I use and parts needed in the video description. Step-by-step with narration is the best way I have found to explain what and how to complete jobs. Great minds come any & everywhere man.
You're welcome & that's what I like to hear! Be sure to like the video and subscribe to the channel for more repair videos. I am replacing an iPhone X battery coming up soon.
@@SuperGuyKY Ordered a battery on eBay (reluctantly), but it came in a few days and actually was a Toshiba batter (at least that's what the printing on the battery indicated). Took the back off and removed the old battery -- which incidentally had literally exploded (no wonder the machine would only work when it was plugged in). Whole process took less time than your video! Thanks again.
Hi there! I am not sure about the exact battery code/part # from Toshiba. But here is the link to the battery that I used to replace the old one in my Toshiba Satellite P50 from Amazon; www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SHGQZ5D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Just like in all of my videos, all parts & tools used are in the description. Good luck!
You are welcome! The purpose from all my videos is to teach, show, and help others learn either from a job that I am performing, or that I have done many times in my life.
Hi, I have the same laptop and I also need to replace the battery. I have replaced the battery twice in the last 5 years. The last battery was very poor quality and didnt last long. My main worry is that these laptops are old and most of the batteries on sale have been sitting on the shelves for a long time, i.e. they havent been charged for a long time and their longevity is not what it should be. How is your new battery holding on? Im not sure if I should just get a new laptop or replace the battery. (I might even get a new laptop and a new battery). I have had my laptop for 10 years and with an SSD upgrade its still a relatively decent computer. The main issue is that it doesnt provide me with mobility any more.
Hi there. I see what you mean, I had this laptop for about 6 years before I had to replace the battery the first time. That battery only lasted a few months and this one has lasted for over a year now and is still working with holding a full charge for at least 2 hours (fingers crossed). My main issue is that newer laptops do not come with CD-drives any longer, since everything is a digital download now. I guess I am 'old-school' in that way. If I were you, just wait until a great sale comes and get a new laptop, after the third battery, it isn't worth putting more or your time & money into an outdated piece of technology. That's just my thoughts. Good luck!
