Interesting on using translucent clear styrene as opposed to the more brittle clear plastic. I wonder if this may be a kind of "dry run" on how to make other, bigger kits in clear, like a 1:1400 Ent-D re-release, or a *cough* 1:1000 Ent-D *cough* ...
Thanks for the review. Kit looks really nice overall, and yeah like you I'm hugely relieved that they went with a translucent plastic instead of that brittle clear plastic that can crack or break if you look at it wrong.
Nice kit I'm definitely getting the clear version to go along with my clear Enterprise-D & Enterprise-C👍🏾 the poor Enterprise refit model you built.. i thought you going to break it when you hit it with the Defiant😳🙂
I was hoping for an actual clear kit, with some internal parts for the bridge, warp core, engine nacelles etc, think I'll wait to see how you're turns out before committing to buying it!
Nice unboxing! Have pre-ordered both ships… have also 2 Revell kits! I think that Greenstrawberry is engineering aftermarket PE parts voor the Voyager from Revell! Keep the nice work!👍
I've been building the occasional Gunpla snap-to kit for about 6-10 months. So far I've got 2 different versions of RX-78 Gundam, Wing Gundam Zero Custom, Jesta, the Leo from Wing, Char's Red Comet Zaku & a Gouf Custom. I'm currently debating about either getting this or getting two Gunpla kits for the same price as this one here. Basically get 1 or 2 for the price of 1. Decisions, decisions.
Looks great, I ordered the clear version which will be my first model doing it that way instead of drilling out windows etc. Fingers crossed I can prevent light leaks!!
I still have the AMT Voyager. I was really unhappy with how it turned out the first time I put it together. I currently have disassembled it and am in the process of fixing all the things that were problems with it originally.
Great kit overall but I just don't understand why they went through all of the trouble of recessing the small windows but left the large window bays on the main hull flat. They clearly recessed the engineering hull large window bays.
I was just thinking the other day that right about now there should be an AST review video about Voyager coming up. Great work! I'm also quite happy with the decision of making the clear edition a milk carton type of plastic. Should be great to work with and to do some raytheon on.
This kit been long time coming for round two it been a survey what model kit people who want see in 1\1000 plus I don't know if they they have much clear that then use enterprise d model
A Clear Plastic Model Kit is a Pain in the Ass to Light Block it takes a lot of Black Paint to Light Block a Model molded in Clear Plastic now maybe the Translucent White Plastic won't be so difficult to Light Block you won't know until you try to Light Block Best of luck to Ya.
I like the fact that you don’t have to cut holes to get the lighting effects in the clear addition. Saves a lot of time! Thanks for sharing!

Great review! Let’s push for a 1:350 scale Voyager next!
Looking forward to seeing you build this one
I'm sure Aztek Dummy will be offering a set of window masks soon...
11.03 Engraved recessed windows on the side, but not on the saucer? Odd... Love the 'clear' plastic being pre diffused
With the recessed windows, using masking fluid in them before you paint may make your life a lot easier than scraping paint out of them.

You forgot the Bandai model kit release.

I'd love to see a size comparison of the 3 different scaled Voyager kits.

Looking forward to watching this, didn't realise the model was out yet

The clear addition is made by leaving out the grey pigment. Easy to light, just light block on the outside.
Nice starship model kit u.s.s. voyager I want this kit for me to build together.
I know this is going to be a great kit to build especially the clear kit .
Fantastic!!!! I can't wait!!!
Rather than scrapping paint of, a bit of latex masking putty should work well.
What gauge wire do you use for lights?
Where did you buy the kit?
Looks great but I'm a little disappointed that it's not a true clear plastic. They should have advertised it as translucent instead...
Clear plastic is brittle and sucks. This is way better.
Damnit, where the hell did you get it?
Those are not tractor beam emitters. Those are the Transporter Pad Emitters.
You could just Drill out the Windows on the molded in Gray Version .
Ncc 74656 u.s.s. voyager federation starship I want that
