I'm just replacing the display because of some keyboard stains burning. Even the battery is still great. One of the best phones I've used, like my HTC HD2 many years ago.
I have a work one that was given to me in Nov 2018 brand new 128gb in black. It works fine, loved it so much I purchased the same phone with 512gb in copper metallic a month ago. As I know we'll be upgrading at work, but still wanted the note 9 as a personal phone. Only difference I wanted more storage, hence my purchase this year.
I've had my Note 9 for 3 years and still performs great. The battery life is less, but still decent. With the amoled screen am starting to have burn in which is starting to bug me. Looks like some pretty good S22 Ultra pre-order deals available, may be time to trade in and upgrade.
I had a Note 9 but sadly I got rid of it because I didn't understand the Android ecosystem as well as I do now. When I used it I knew it was an awesome phone. I loved the fingerprint sensor in the back, iris scanner and battery life. I didn't now it was the best cell phone at the time but I knew it was a well built phone.
I bought my 128gb note 9 back end of 2018 and had it up until last week when I accidently broke the front screen. Replacement screen was going to cost £230 so I did the sensible thing....... and bought a excellent condition 512gb note 9 for £350 instead. Excellent phone and will be using this for some time yet. Also noticed a few people saying about screen burn, I had my 128gb model for 3 and a half years and had no screen burn but I also barely if ever had always on display on so that could be why
I have been using the Note 9 for 2 years, and its been great. I like it so much, I just bought a second one and I mirrored it with smart switch so the new one is ready to go if I need it.
Just switched from my iPhone 13 pro to the note 20 ultra. Getting used to the size difference (that's actually going better than I thought ) and I'm enjoying the phone overall. First time having a pen. My daughter seemed to like it. Thinking of getting here the note 9 for her first phone maybe 🤔
That would be a good call. She'd love how we can doodle, draw and do magic things with the S Pen, especially with the Penup app. It's been a great solid phone for me, been having it since it was launched. My kids been loving it too!
I'm still using my note 9, same exact one as in the video. I really like it still to this day. I did just put an order in for the s22 ultra 512gig. The one thing I dont like about the s22 ultra that the note 9 has is the expandable memory slot. Shouldn't be an issue with the 512 though. I'm also not a big fan of the curved edges on the note 9. My note 9 has been in a youmaker slim case since the day I got it and its still in excellent condition. If you want an older phone thats still works flawlessly, puck up a note 9 no doubt.

Bixby button👎 I love my 512gb 🔓 note 9! Its aging gracefully and it feels premium to this day visually and in performance. The last true note 📝 Sure don't make em like they used too!
Edit September 2022: Phone is still running smoothly. No issues so far, except for battery drain. I love how i can unlock the phone using the iris scanner while wearing a mask :) Edit March 2022: Just reformatted my phone and it runs smoothly. Only issue again is the battery which drains pretty fast. still rocking my 2019 note 9! Love the full uninterrupted display, micro SD card slot, headphone jack, iris scanner and physical fingerprint scanner. Its still going strong, but I have to charge the phone at least twice a day :) :)
I had the note 8. 3yrs later the battery was draining quickly and the screen was already giving up. I bought a note 9 later on. It was only 2yrs old when i bought it. It was refurbished. And so far so good. The battery is still great and got a great deal on it. I like it so much. I bought another one incase this one breaks. So yes this note 9 is amazing and great for the price!!!
Still use mine instead of my Note 20. Great screen, sound and has a Micro SD card slot AND a headphone jack !! Will keep using it until the security patches stop for it.
Chipsets now of days can last easily 3 to 4 yesrs of good performance in a phone before you notice any real aging. What it really comes down too is the support for software updates. If you can tolerate being cut off from software and security support then it's still a great phone. Also battery will play a factor as well as they don't age as well as chipsets do
Over the last couple months, something that costs a few hundred dollars has broken several times a month. I am completely broke and, of course, the latest thing to break is my phone. I just ordered a refurbished Note 9 in perfect condition with a 1 year warranty and a 30 days return policy, ⁹8 GB memory, 128 GB storage. Taxes, shipping, everything under $200 Cdn. Not gonna do better than that. And I'm scared to spend more - everything I look at breaks. At the right price, still worth it.
I moved from this Note9 to an S22 Ultra. The only disadvantages I found so far for the Note9 were it doesn't have reversible wireless charging and it doesn't have Android 12/One UI 4.1. Those 2 things would've made it a perfect old flagship for 2022.
Awesome revisit for this awesome device. I am a little bit torn in here, I have a note 9 with a broken screen, so I'm puzzled as I can't seem to decide whether I should fix the screen or upgrade to a new note or the S22 ultra. Watching comparison reviews, this beast is still going strong and the camera department is not really important for me to make an upgrade. Lack of additional updates for the note 9 is what worries me, do you think if I replace the broken screen the Note 9 would still survive for at least 1 year ?
Is it still worth it in 2022 if you can get it new, answer is yes as seen it new for £249.00. As the newer models seem to only update the camera and android . But if not bothered about the camera quality and software, why pay extreme money for less features on the 2021 22 models as no led notification, scanner, sd card slot, headphone jack, plus you don't get the dot bothering you like the new ones. But bought for best the note 20 ultra 5g as really not a big user of any phone, So until once no way of calling, texting and using certain apps, that's when any phone isn't worth buying.
Still using mine, 512gb 8gb exynos. Haven't used even half of the storage and I haven't deleted any single pic since i got it at launch. I also use it for console emulation, connecting to an external display makes it a fully fledged console basically. Totally still a beast in 2022
Still worth every penny. You get a great DAC, Dual speakers, 8gb ram ir 6gb (still enough) DEX (Turn it into a proper desktop PC) The screen, Headphone jack, Spen and so on and so on. If you don't have the money for a new ultra then this is the phone to you. Its a must buy today and if you think its not you're mental. OK its got the bezels, but I personally like a bit of bezel as your not touching the screen all the time. Its a masterpiece. Especially if your not into photos and just want the odd screenshot. Lets not forget the camera is great, ok its not OP like what the point in having all those megapixels on a camera to look at on a screen. This is for the tik tok people. Remember this wasnt aimed at them it was aimed at a business phone with all the features you need. Its still getting security updates as of march 2022 as Ive just got one today and it will get a few more. If you want a phone for a great price, a headphone jack, a DAC better than 99.9% of phones now and then, its a must get. I mean you can get this for about 200 or less now. The only downside is that it will become unprotected once the updates stop, but im using mine till it does that or something happens. It has been the only phone Ive had that Ive not upgraded on my contract in 25 years. I still love mine and have a DEX station that is amazing. 8gb for a phone is plenty. I mean do you want it better than your home PC? I still love the Spen and Samsung made a classic here. If I get bored of the look of it i get a new case and renew the screen protector and change the icons. Its served me so well since I got it. 10/10. If you are thinking about getting it then get it, but like he says the updates will stop so it would be a great phone for a year or so if youre waiting for for a better new flagship or cant afford it. Plus you can be some bezel snob haha.
I just picked up less than 2 weeks ago the Samsung s22 Ultra and I must say in comparison to the note 9...it blows the Ultra 22 away in respect to everything else and including pricing for that matter !!! Other than of course the clarity in their picture taking capacity and speed simply cuz as time progresses every phone gets slower as it gets filled with data !!! Other than that sincerely the note 9, maybe because I'm so comfortable with it 🤔🙄😏 The ultra 22 regardless is an awesome phone butt maybe it's just a matter of time and getting used to the changes of course...my own personal opinion 🤔 I still have the note 9 and running strong after 4 years now👍 as a summarization I wouldn't go running out to purchase the ultra 22 or any other replacement phone unless of course it's broken down on you !!!
It's fine from a performance perspective, but the battery has degraded too much in mine, even after careful use (no overnight charging, no using while charging etc).
What I trully wish , that Samsung would release (when there will be a big breaktrough in phone computing science bringing the laptop specs to the phone without overheating) to build the ultimate phone that is around the Note 9 size but taller, a bit bulkier/Thicker for more battery and features, and have it be the ultimate tool, that would include the IR blaster and reader for programming, Radio reciever and transmitter, headphone jack with optical audio capability, side Case pins for extended battery case, normal (side or back) but also under screen finger print reader that can be disabled, 2x fully programmable buttons, and a pen with a better capacitor for 10 minutes of 10 clicks/second and 2 buttons that can be read up to 20 meters away (10 meters full signal) true Iris scanner and 24 MP front camera with 8k ultra wide capability, and the ability to use a crop recording with digital stabilizer and 90 degrees view for vlogging that is 4k and a more normal angle , rather then 160 degrees (8k) down to a more resonable 90 degrees (4k), also NO! under screen camera setup, but more like the note 9 form factor, but while also having a full 21/9 aspect ratio screen 4K CAPABLE, but that can go down to 1080p for the best battery life and performance, and having 2x front facing corner ambiental lights, that can be used for reading or for when you need wide ambient lighting, and on the back, an array light that has doual porpuse, wide field ring light (both ambiental close range lights should be able to change the temperature of the light from cold to warm light with ample steps between white and worm orange), with focused center light that can illuminate up to 50m for the 20x zoom lense, and the smaller ring light would be up to 5m for the ultra wide or 2x zoom. Also, it should have dual proper speakers for true mobile stereo, that also have ultrasonic capability, for pet training command use, or for emergency cases that makes an inaudible sound to humans, but the phone itself and rescue units with capable gear, can detect the sound to find the phone's location at least, and maybe also a GPS signal emitter. And call it (THE GALAXY TOOL NOTE 1) that maybe does not have the most powerful hardware, but it is the most versatile version for people that need a tool that is reliable in any temperature or scenario. (And this line of phones should have a new model each 7 years, and have them fully supported for 14, and security supported for 28 years)

I owned a Note 9 and upgraded to an S10+ when the Note 9 battery started to give some problems. The Note 9 is the best phone I ever used, but the S10+ is a worthy replacement and almost as good. The two things the Note 9 has over the S10+ are the fingerprint scanner on the back (S10+ has it on the screen) and the stylus (which I didn't really use). Given that the S10+ will still get updates and Android 11, I switched. I would recommend getting the S10+ if it has more memory and is in good condition. If the stylus matters and you don't mind an older version of Android, keep rocking the Note9.
I love mine and would continue to use it but my carrier (T mobile) is not supporting it soon. Forcing me because it's not 5G compatible to upgrade, bites. Luckily a friend of mine gave my his note 10+ that is 5G compatible so I can still take notes for awhile at least.
I like my note 9 512 but : - The fingerprint sensor surface has peeled off so now it is almost unusable. - There is no more security updates. I'm moving to a A53 256. (times are difficult :/ ) I will miss headphone jack and stylus.

I have an unlocked ATT note 9 and it works great until Tmobile turned off their 2G. Tmobile is telling me it is not compatible with their 4G network. From everything I have read it should be. Their solution is a new phone. Any suggestions?
I still have my Note 9 but unfortunately, I dropped it and the screen is severely cracked. It even has a green line showing right through the middle lol. I absolutely love this phone. Should I get the screen fixed, buy a refurbished Note 9 in good condition, or "upgrade?"
Hello i ve also cracked my screen. Changing screen is good option because your battery will also change. I ve also look for a new note20 ultra or s22 ultra but i think price is a little bit high. Fixing and using for 1-2 year is okey. Because this phone has still good hardware. Go for it 👍
its actually the best phone ive ever owned up to this point. I was originally with att and moved to Cricket..(same network basically). Now im being told by Cricket that because the Note 9 doesnt have HD-Voice, then its not compatible with their network after the 3G shutdown. Now I have to get ATT to unlock the phone so I can move to a different carrier..absolute nightmare and havent had data for several days at this point.
I'm forced to drop my Note 9 now that the final update has been pushed out... it is sad, because I paid full-price for it when it dropped and a 5 year lifespan is disturbingly brief. Anyway, I'll be very sorry to see it go because it is by far the best phone I've ever had the pleasure of owning.
I bought a brand new note 9 and the battery life sucks, and the air command shape is not round like I've seen on a lot of the TH-cam's note 9 reviews.......
how long does the battery last on this thing? day to day and long term. no removable battery is a bit annoying.. had to replace note 4 battery every 1,5 yrs

I had a Note 9 but sadly I got rid of it because I didn't understand the Android ecosystem as well as I do now. When I used it I knew it was an awesome phone. I loved the fingerprint sensor in the back, iris scanner and battery life. I didn't now it was the best cell phone at the time but I knew it was a well built phone.
this and the Note8 were Samsung's most beautiful looking devices ever!
The version 500gb of this telephone is the best all time
Note 9 still keeping me away of any Iphone. Best ever Note Phone
Uou can replace the battery.
Is yours dual sim?
@@fargeeks i dont think so. Can't check right now but I dont remember have 2 slots
@@burbschannel4541 i bought the snapdragon dual sim model from Amazon, its pretty cool how you can select either sims for texting and calling or you can use both simultaneously, and of course its the 512GB one
@@fargeeks oh were you talking about the s22 ultra? I thought you were talking about the nite 9. My s22 ultra hasn't come in yet. Got it through Verizon. It is the 512 but idk about the dual sim.

Bixby button👎 I love my 512gb 🔓 note 9! Its aging gracefully and it feels premium to this day visually and in performance. The last true note 📝 Sure don't make em like they used too!
It's definitely better than my current Samsung Galaxy a11
Edit September 2022:
Phone is still running smoothly. No issues so far, except for battery drain. I love how i can unlock the phone using the iris scanner while wearing a mask :)
Edit March 2022:
Just reformatted my phone and it runs smoothly.
And and headphone jack 🤣🤣
Yep, my battery is degrading quite badly.
Also battery will play a factor as well as they don't age as well as chipsets do
My battery is still at 85 percentage of original battery life and it gets security updates once a year now.
Battery life probably at 50% out of the box new, as sitting on shelf.
I just fixed my screen after looking at the s22 ultra.
Great video, everyone should also see soto tek camera comparison note 9 vs iPhone 13!
You should mention that sometime refurbished phones ain't water resistant.
Refurbished or not, you can forget about the IP rating on a 3 and a half year old phone.
But bought for best the note 20 ultra 5g as really not a big user of any phone,
So until once no way of calling, texting and using certain apps, that's when any phone isn't worth buying.
Where did u see
I have 2 galaxy note 9 and 1 galaxy s9 plus. I don't feel the need to upgrade.
I'll keep my 9 until there's a comparable upgrade with features I want.
Are you still using your note 9? I plan to buy it in 2022.
Not OP but I have now 2 Note 9s and still planning on buying a brand new one when I find one on affordable price.
Still using mine, 512gb 8gb exynos. Haven't used even half of the storage and I haven't deleted any single pic since i got it at launch. I also use it for console emulation, connecting to an external display makes it a fully fledged console basically. Totally still a beast in 2022
Still with my Note 9 too! What do you think of the new S22 Ultra?
@@hans6304 i am still using the note 9 considering the s22. any body try both?
Other than that sincerely the note 9, maybe because I'm so comfortable with it 🤔🙄😏
The ultra 22 regardless is an awesome phone butt maybe it's just a matter of time and getting used to the changes of course...my own personal opinion 🤔
I still have the note 9 and running strong after 4 years now👍 as a summarization I wouldn't go running out to purchase the ultra 22 or any other replacement phone unless of course it's broken down on you !!!
It's fine from a performance perspective, but the battery has degraded too much in mine, even after careful use (no overnight charging, no using while charging etc).
Samsung kill note 9 with Android 10 the fon became slow and very hot...
(And this line of phones should have a new model each 7 years, and have them fully supported for 14, and security supported for 28 years)
HELL YA NOTE 9 IS STILL EXCELLENT IN 2022 .I HAD THE EDGE + FOR 1YR WORST PHONE IVE EVER USED WAY WAY OVER PRICED .JUST BOUGHT A NEW NOTE 9 .WAY WAY BETTER .THIS PHONE HAS IT ALL
Definitely a buy in 2022
Have had mines for about 3.5 years. Battery life now is poor. Might do a battery replacement and upgrade when the s23 ultra comes out
Still my daily driver. I thought I was going to have to replace it because the mophie juice pack was falling apart, when I took the whitesontedome screen protector off the screen was smashed, etc... but then I found another mophie juice pack on ebay and put a gel screen protector on it. It's back to being all good. I'll wait for the S23 ultra. I will miss the microsd. I have a script that copies all the photos I took on the day a decade or more in the past to my phone every night. Then I can post throw-backs to IG.
I gave this machine to my 15 year old son to replace it for the Note 20 Ultra and to be honest I still miss my Note 9, it seemed to be better built.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 also out classes the newer Google Pixel 6a if you want luck at a Smartphone definitely buy a refurbished one of these I wish you happy hunting!
Still a great phone in 2022 and cheaper to have repaired than to replace, i had my back glass, battery and charging port replaced recntly and only cost me 80 bucks, I'll replace when the screen smashes lol
Mine is 4 years old. Gone through screen protectors and still original OtterBox I got and phone is new looking still. Use the headphone jack all the time and all my apple user friends ask for my photos 🤷
I do own a Note 9 in 2022. I had bought it way back in 2018 October. It works fine. It's smooth. But the battery is practically crap now. And the design looks outdated. The cameras look fine. But not upto par
I still have mine and i never updated the OS on it and runs good as New
Should i buy a NEW Note 9 or a used Note 10+? I'm having a bit of a dilemma. What should i do? The prices are about the same.
5:28 UHD is 4K. And front facing is only up to Quad HD 30fps and not 4K UHD.
Still have my Note 9 🙂
I got it in april it's really a great phone my old phone was samsung galaxy a71.
I love mine and would continue to use it but my carrier (T mobile) is not supporting it soon. Forcing me because it's not 5G compatible to upgrade, bites. Luckily a friend of mine gave my his note 10+ that is 5G compatible so I can still take notes for awhile at least.
Yeah I'm still using this phone in 2022 and I never got disappointed :) it's a perfect phone Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Samsung will end support for this phone soon
site your sources
I like my note 9 512 but :
- The fingerprint sensor surface has peeled off so now it is almost unusable.
- There is no more security updates.
I'm moving to a A53 256. (times are difficult :/ ) I will miss headphone jack and stylus.
Needed a new phone & didn't want to pay big money & found the Note 9 in copper "opened & never used" online for £220
I hv the blue Note 9. There is a crack in the bottom. I downgraded to the s20 and It just doesn't do it for me. I bought pink and 4 cute cases, STILL don't like it. I'm wondering it its even worth going through Assurion insurance for a replacement Note 9.
What kind of tripod you use for your videos
My notification tray and quick toggles keep disappearing. When I swipe down its just all black
Hello i need your advice Should i still keep my note 9 after the fact that Samsung stop releasing updates and security patches will i have to change it is 8gb ram and 510gb hdd and it still runs so fast and neat !? It is really a shame it dies out after 4 years not really fair!?
I regret upgrading from my Note9 to the S22 Ultra 😭 the S22 doesn't have a headphone jack and the charger is not included for the ridiculous price 🙄
Was thinking should I upgrade S22 Ultra
did you experience random restart on your note 9?
I have an unlocked ATT note 9 and it works great until Tmobile turned off their 2G. Tmobile is telling me it is not compatible with their 4G network. From everything I have read it should be. Their solution is a new phone. Any suggestions?
I'm planning on upgrading from my Note 5 finally, and am trying to figure out if I go to the 8, or skip it and go straight for the 9
Oh wow, nice Kevin
I really want a note 9 but right now I only have a note 8 because i do not have money to buy a note 9.and the note 8 battery sucks
Go for it 👍
My new note 9 battery sucks , gives out quick ......is this a common problem with these phones ....
its actually the best phone ive ever owned up to this point.
Just bought one today.
How is the battery life?
Great call!
Do the new notes support wireless charging?
Note 9 has display issue. My phone is completely gone and can’t turn on now. Display issues
Is this single sim slot phone supporting Jio4G if yes I wud wish to have silver rainbow glossy
Great phone, great design but at this point you might as well get a note 20 ultra . Once you go 120hz everything else just feels slow and really frustrating.
price
Somehow mine will no longer be useable for phone calls since 3g will be shut off
@@reflectiveinsiight891 I got mine when it was released so it was full price, now it might be much cheaper like at $700 , my father has my note 9 now but I use it sometimes to do things for him and when compared to the note 20 ultra you notice the diffrence straight away. Even a mid teir oppo phone with a 144hz screen feels quicker than the note 9. Yes the 120hz makes all the diffrence.
Thanks I got the note 20 ultra I guess I need more experience with it cause it feels like my s10 only with a bigger screen.currently typing on my s10 lol because I thought u wanted a gigantic screen but nope.it's too big.
After 3 years of bullying for working with house of lords, I'm happy I can afford this
