Hit traction control 2 times fast puts it in sport mode also you can hold brake and traction control at same time for 5 seconds and give you positive traction on my 2018 250 6.7 XLT
If you hit the traction control button twice it’ll put your truck in sport mode. It’s a very nice feature when you need a little more zip. It uses more fuel though so I only use it, for the most part, when pulling out of parking lots and such in heavy traffic.
We have that air compressor and we truly love it. Your right it’s so difficult to find a compressor that will pump the tires to the needed pressure. You’ll like the convenience tons.

The arrows on the left of the steering column; go to settings, make sure the auto high beam lamp is selected. It’s wonderful the lights brighten and dim when necessary.
On the upfitter switches you can run 5 and 6 hot all the time without key on by moving the fuse over in the box from the default position , You might want to do this if you need power for lights etc all the time. I am going to have to check to see which of these features my NTM 2019 has! I know about many of them, but didn't know about the lights outside cab and tailgate or the camera cleaning. THAT'S cool!
When I drop my tailgate on my '16 F150, I have extra lights inside the box of the truck, and a switch on the drivers side to turn them on or off. One thing you didn't mention, is that there is 'quite' a bit of room, behind the rear seat. It's a little tricky to open, but on Amazon there are many companies selling a device to allow the back of the seat to fold forward, so you can access all the room back there! Some trucks have a button (or can use their fob) to open the tailgate, but mine doesn't. I'll have to check the + on the Navigation system you showed here. There's also a place in the console to hide your fob if the battery in the fob dies, where even with the dead battery it sends enough signal so you can start the engine of the truck! Mine has this option, and the one...well two options I use the most, the sound system (love my music) and of course Navigation, helping me to get from A to B in area's I'm unfamiliar.
Cool vid. If someone gave me a brand new f30 dually. I couldn’t even afford the fuel, maintenance, and insurance on it. I didn’t know trucks came with so much tech these days.
Apparently XL’s have been substantially chopped since 2018, my factory ordered 2022 fully loaded F350 XL doesn’t have the flip up secondary glove box, just a pocket with no door and it also doesn’t have any accent colored dash bezels. Just plain black like everything else. Favorite option, tailgate step. Will never own another truck without optioning it.
A quick note, and I am not sure if it is still this way. But, the traction control button. If you fast click it, it will only partially disable it. If you want to fully disable, you have to hold the button down for about 5 seconds.
if you hold the traction control button for about 5 seconds, it turns AdvancedTrack off which runs behind Traction Control and is on even if TC is off. If you turn the AT off, TC is also off as well
Traction control prevents the tires from slipping at all. Turning it off lets you spin the tires but the AdvanceTrack still limits the tires from spinning like hell if you need it. Turn the AdvanceTrack off if you’re in deep snow or mud and then the tires will spin at full rpm’s to get you out of the real sticky situations (or to whip some donuts in the mud or snow). 💪🏻👍
Double tap the traction control button and it activates sport mode deactivating both skid and traction control. On 2011-2016 models ford techs can activate a screen to indicate def levels Properly outfitted newer models can do an operator activated manual regen. Some people don’t know that most super duty trucks have a locking rear diff if you pull out on the 4x4 shift dial.
I have a truck similar to yours, and figured out these features over time, but your video would be a real time saver. Read the manual? Sure, at over 500 pages, I’m sure it’s all in there….

Adaptive cruise control is one of my favorite things on my truck. In areas with heavy traffic it is great. Especially when towing. I guess we’re all different.
For okhotroder: the options “warning in adaptive cruise” & others you mentioned can be selected/deselected from the steering wheel arrows on the left side. Arrow r over to setting and scroll to your preferred option then select or deselect.
Well traction is dumbed down a little, you have to hold it until advance track disables if you really want traction control off. I hit the button in the rain for my f150, instead of traction control coming on hard, cutting power and not allowing a shift, if just you push the button once it allows the transmission to shift just before traction control takes over, basically it spins half a rotation, shifts, and bogs just enough continue going forward without spinning. As long as you're not hard on the pedal.
@@LyfeUntethered me again haha. Sport mode keeps you in a higher rev range and down shifts a little more spirited. I believe he might have been joshing you though, usually you have to have a sport mode option on your Ford. By the way, you are life saver. I was not sure how to install my daughters bullet point phone/tablet mount until watching your video.
Code on side driver door tips. Driving then arrived at location turn off engine get out of vehicle and press both buttons 7-8 and 9-0 all doors are locked. No need to use fob key. Coming back to vehicle do you code of 5 digits only driver door unlocked then press both buttons 1-2 and 3-4 all doors unlocked.
I actually looked into that a while ago and didn't find anything reasonable. The ford dealer didn't even have anything useful to say. I'm sure there's a way because there is an Aux camera button. But haven' t found anything I wanna try yet. Also, because my display is so terrible, I think I'd be better off with a full set up including yet... another display. Altho, with a different camera maybe it would look better? If you figure something out, let me know!
@@LyfeUntethered I don't have my camper anymore, but I went to an ag dealer and bought a wired (you can also get wireless) camera. Then I made a cup holder mount and had a live view of the back of the camper. Better image quality, live view all the time. Just my 2 cents. If you really want, you can add multiple cameras and flip between them on the screen as well. They are a couple of hundred dollars, but it was so handy for pulling a large camper.
There is a recall for the rear camera due to foggy conditions. My 17 6.7 lariat rear and front cameras are foggy. Found a front camera for 60 bucks online so will be replacing that and hopefully will have the dealer replace the rear. Apparently they just get foggy over time.
Just replacing the camera might not work depending on what feature you have. If it has 360 camera like his in the video, it needs an initialization plus a calibration
@@LyfeUntethered It turns it off completely. If you just press it once it disables track control but It will still override if needed. I was stuck in the snow once in my backyard and it kept trying to interfere even with it off. When I turned it off completely by holding it down 5 seconds, it completely disabled all traction control.

@@TheMeanmarine13 Hey Marine! Thanks for explaining! Glad to help! Hope your daughter likes it!
I also wish I had adaptive cruise on my F350. Even my 16 yo Sequoia has it.
Have you dbl tapped the traction control button
Code on side driver door tips. Driving then arrived at location turn off engine get out of vehicle and press both buttons 7-8 and 9-0 all doors are locked. No need to use fob key. Coming back to vehicle do you code of 5 digits only driver door unlocked then press both buttons 1-2 and 3-4 all doors unlocked.
I've wired up fitter switches at work.
There is a recall on the cameras from Ford. They will replace all of them for free. I did it on my 2017 about six months ago. Much better picture.
They did all but one of mine. That one still looks bad! I should take it back.
Did yk that if you hold down the traction button it’ll turn off advanced traction control.
Have you found a way to connect a wireless camper rearview camera to the main truck display? That would be a really nice feature.
I wish the rear camera had the sprayer!
I wish the rear camera didn’t suuuuuck! Almost unusable. Sprayer would be nice.
There is a recall for the rear camera due to foggy conditions. My 17 6.7 lariat rear and front cameras are foggy. Found a front camera for 60 bucks online so will be replacing that and hopefully will have the dealer replace the rear. Apparently they just get foggy over time.
I think ford is waiting for parts. All my cameras are nearly unusable.
Just replacing the camera might not work depending on what feature you have. If it has 360 camera like his in the video, it needs an initialization plus a calibration
I wish my F150 had a feature where the truck would cycle through all the lights so I can check my trailer lights without several trips to the pickup.
that would be nice for sure!
What year is your F150? I just recently bought a 22 and can do exactly that through the Fordpass app.
@@1970chrish 2012
My 2021 does this and goes through the whole thing L R stop Reverse? 5 times unless you turn it off. Love it.
My '19 F-150 Lariat will tell me on the dash if any trailer light is not working.
If you double tap the traction control you can activate Sport Mode
That’s a lot of options in a base model
Your check engine light is on that means more work 🤣😂🤣
Hold your traction control for 8 seconds and you'll be able to turn off advancetraction control
You can turn on the radio on for 30 min by just hitting the power button with no key.
The doors open and the radio on with no chimes!!
Thanks!!
Dang ! Wish I had the keyless start option!
@@LyfeUntethered I don’t have the keyless option and it worked for me! 😅
It really works!!! Thank you for that!! 😅😊
If you press and hold the traction control off button for 5 seconds, you'll also turn off AdvanceTrac
What is the difference?
@@LyfeUntethered It turns it off completely. If you just press it once it disables track control but It will still override if needed. I was stuck in the snow once in my backyard and it kept trying to interfere even with it off. When I turned it off completely by holding it down 5 seconds, it completely disabled all traction control.
And if you rapidly press the advancetrak button 2x rapidly, it turns on sport mode.
There’s a recall on these due to fuzzy and unclear images. The forward looking camera.
This is how I totaled my 2020 gt350 😭
I have a 2018 f-350 and there is a recall on the reverse camera.
Yep. Got most of our cameras replaced by the dealer. Slightly better now, still not amazing.
Loved the tire pressure monitoring. Until I had a TPMS go bad. Take a look at what that costs to replace. Now I deal with a warning pop-up on startup and an orange light that stays on constantly at the bottom
Same!
@@bryanhayes9728 Now I have two out. Looked at Itasca for the parts somewhat cheaper than what my favorite dealer wants. Still waiting though. Cause I'm cheap, cheap 🐦
Can it tell you how to get the engine warning light to turn off? That would be key!
That usually costs your left arm.
I have the'13 model. Light came on and mechanic checked, said oxygen sensor. But, I run non ethanol normally. Sometimes I have to get ethanol. Switching back and forth I've noticed that light goes off occasionally
We used to have idiot lights to let you know when your oil was low, now we have idiot systems to tell you whether or not you're going uphill or down. Between you and me, if you can't tell if you're driving uphill or down...... PLEASE park it and walk home!
As for some of the features, not bad. Personally I get in my truck so that it can haul my arse where it needs to go, no need for anything fancy because as we all know the fancy bobbles break and cost far too much to bother fixing. Give me a truck that's ready to work and throw the crap in the garbage!
All but the front camera washer
The rear camera being foggy, is a factory recall. Ford will replace it for free. FYI
I brough it in, and they ordered the camera(s). I hope they replace all of em because they are all unusable! It's been 2 weeks... Ford isn't great about calling back to let me know when they're in...
They don't like doing free stuff! Lol.. Or seem to take care of customers unless you make some noise! Stay on them.
If you lock then press and hold the unlock button for 3 seconds all the windows go down at once. Great on a hot day.
Dang! Great tip!!
The one thing that your truck can not do is ... make you a safe, sober, and responsible driver.
Agreed I (Leila ) lost my best friend at 19 - to drinking and driving. Never NEVER it’s not worth it. I miss her everyday the thing most people get to have in their lives is there best friend . I
Missed that not worth it
i am now retired, but in 40 years of driving commercial and many years before than driving smaller trucks. i see No usage for those cameras.
Don't forget how to get to sport mode, also how to drop the tailgate with the door keypad.
Wait. I can’t tell if your messing with me about sport mode? And mine is only the base model, so no keypad on door. Didn’t know that was an option on higher end models. Thanks for the tips!
If you push the traction control button twice it turns on Sport mode
@@LyfeUntethered attraction control twice, and it will go to sport mode on any Ford model that has traction control

Not a lot of Buttons on my 95 250😅
Only if Tesla knew about the camera washer. For the Cyberthing. Lots of them complaining the rear view mirror camera is always dirty and the view is awful. But hey it costs a few bucks to install it and Tesla does everything on the cheap.
I'm looking for a feature that reduces the price of a truck, new or used 😁
Let me know when you find it!
It depends on the year
Yep. And trim.
I daily drive a 96 Chevy. I know how to drive so I don't need all that wizardry ;)
How many miles on it? Original engine? Wizardry is for those of us who can't drive.
@@LyfeUntethered My truck is a 96 K2500 with the extended cab and long bed. It has the original 350 V8, 4x4, and a 5 speed. It has 120K miles on it and it's in mint condition. I'll never replace it with anything new! 😀
I heard there was a recall on the cameras.
Therre was! They replaced most of mine. Not amazing, but for sure better.
Check for a recall on the cameras. I have a 2019 F-350 and there is a camera recall.
Yep! But not in stock last I checked?
I've been told to expect the fix sometime in the 4th quarter of this year. If that holds true, it should be soon.@@LyfeUntethered
