Hey Jaret Italians and Armenians know what time it is with Mediterranean dishes yes sir! TOP that's the dealer i go to usually as well..bought 3 bikes from them already lol. The BMW issue is indeed disappointing. Won't they just give you a new one instead? If the bike keeps having the same issue more than 3 times gonna be a lemon anyway. My 2014 ninja 1000 I got from TO actually ended up being a lemon as well..
The new 2020 S1000RR was one of my choices to "upgrade" from my 1299. I decided 2 weeks ago to pass on the BMW and get something else instead. This video actually made me feel better about my choice. Can't wait to let you know what I've bought! 😎
Just had some issues with my brand new diavel and they have just delivered my 2nd brand new bike after returning the 1st one 🇬🇧🇮🇹 When the dealership sells the bike he’s ya best mate When you go back with some issues ( including even just to book in for 1st service) he’s disappeared enemies can’t remember you name It’s the same level of service as I get in the Uk 🇬🇧 but you have better weather this time of year All good things
Russell Patrick man that sucks! We have a Honda dealer here in my town that used to be terrible at costumer service! Told me if I didn’t buy a Honda from them they wouldn’t service it. Needless to say I don’t do business with them ever again
Once the Brembo brakes are on, you won't have to worry about the "cost effective" braking system that BMW put on these bikes and are already having issues with leaking seals on the calipers.
There's obviously unit-unit variation. My 2020 S 1000 RR has been absolutely perfect and now has 4500 miles. I will take it in for the oil cooler replacement recall when I replace my tires again in about a month - no biggie. It's been on the track (COTA) along with some spirited street riding, hence the tires. My mods have been purely functional - Stompgrips, dual-USB power to the triple-clamp for phone and 360 camera, Brentuning handheld/flash (necessary, really), R&G case covers and sliders, rear spools, taller Puig windscreen (I'm 6'2") and a couple of other small odds and ends. I don't do bike bling and I kept the stock exhaust (I hate loud and so do my neighbs). I can't think of anything else it needs; it's amazing. BTW, you can connect to both your phone and helmet at the same time. The TFT console Connections menu has two Bluetooth connections. I have my phone and my Cardo Packtalk Slim JBL always connected. The electronics in the console work amazingly well - phone, nav, everything. Finally, take a long look through the BMW Connected phone app. It records your trips, your speeds, acceleration/braking, lean angles and more. In fact, it allows you to completely replay your ride on the map with full telemetry. Really badass.
2017-CBR-1000-SP2. 0 issues 6k miles, Honda = 0 headache, I would have died yesterday at 185mph if i was leaking brake fluid. Can’t wait for June when the New CBR arrives in my garage!!! Running Dunlop Q4’s, phenomenal tires
100% recommend a build series on a Triumph Speed triple RS. My dad has one and I have the last model 675R and man they’re both so much fun to swap between. On track the 1050 is surprising too!!
Im from Mexico and I have had five YZF-R6 and never had any issues with them even they were ridden on tracks. I was planning to buy a S1000RR 2020. Bmw’s Dealers don’t have it until March but I’ll think twice because of your Videos they are so useful Thanks. I hope u get your bike fixed soon. Regards from Mexico’s City 🇲🇽
My 2017 S1000RR is by far the best sport bike Ive owned and ridden on the track. I don’t recall there being that many issues with this generation of bike when it first came out.
Ah I really appreciate you taking time to walk through the dealer I started a series on my TH-cam "260 days of dealers" starting in Pa with no mileage limit viewing dealer inventory for people. The one owner of the 8 + I have stopped at so far called the cops on me. I do the same videos I always talk to someone and tell them my story nice to see noone hassles you! Ride safe! Keep the vids coming it's cold in Pittsburgh.
As a BMW RNINET owner, I've heard bad things about every BMW Motor, except for the boxer twin engine that's been a staple for them for years. Part of the reason I went with the RNINET
I love the triumph bobber black. It was actually a bike I was considering on buying. Definitely hop on that thing. That's crazy that the BMW had that many issues.
I feel like things arent tested the way they should be. They release something then let the customers find the problems. Maybe im wrong but I feel like alot of industries are like that which sucks for first run buyers
Yes I do agree with you to a certain degree....after making so many bikes and cars and having engineers design shit, how can you still create something that doesn't work correctly??
At least your S1000RR has front brakes... Something to do with the ABS system on my 2020 R1 makes it feel like it doesn't have brakes if you pull too much brake. I even upgraded the pads at 1050mi to EPFA380HH and didn't cover up the problem but it did improve braking distances. The ABS activates a feathering system prematurely guessing what the traction limit would be as if it were raining and its horrible. Yamaha needs to issue a firmware update.
Unfortunately, I have to take my single R to BMW OF VENTURA tomorrow for a oil and coolant leak. I’ve got 10K miles on it and this is my first problem with the bike. Luckily it’s under warranty for 3 years and BMW roadside asst is picking it up and delivering it as I live 3+ hours away from the dealership. Hopefully it will all work out. Great Vid JC.
Hardly anything to worry about but I hate having to leave my bikes anywhere. Hopefully they iron out these details. The previous S1k was pretty bullet proof after the initial year
Yeah its the parts availability that is annoying to me...I understand things sometimes have to be replaced but I don't like my bike sitting at the shop for a long period of time.
Facts,Bavarian Motor Worken is known for their boxer engines hence their logo is to mimic an airplane propeller. BMW started as an airplane company. I love the older Bmw I still ride one that 15 years old ,when I went to buy a new adventure bike I bought a Moto guzzl. The new BMW are high tech nightmares!
The BMW hasn’t left anyone stuck, and the dealer has been proactive with the issues. Ducati reliability is definitely worse and they are way harder to work on. It’s a first year bike and will have its issues. Just as most bikes with any manufacturer can have to be fair.
Just joking guys since he gets a free ducati to ride. I had many electrical problems with my ducati. The bmw is an actual stunner, one of the best looking new bikes out there.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "Major Problems"... meh. All bikes have problems, it happens. Nothing I'd be concerned about. I would be more concerned if they were shady about it. Instead BMW identified the issues and publicly acknowledged them, and are fixing them under warranty/recall. Plenty of manufacturers just send it and see if there is a problem down the road, and then *maybe* fix it for you if they can't blame it on something else.

It would be sooo amazing to meet you and tina..
If you're concerned about convenience/looks, get a jacket with a belt loop and something like Hood Jeans that are fully lined with kevlar and protection for your commutes. And a one piece suit for more....spirited riding.
@@knightsljx which one would be better, i heard leather is way better but is it necessary? Someone that i know told me to get a 2 piece suit and where the jacket to go to school and then later on go to a track and learn.
Sucks. I'll get my S1000RR 2020+ in 2 weeks. Praying every evening that there won't be any issues. Luckily in my country (Thailand) they didn't even released the carbon wheels, so I'll get the forged wheels.
Jaret, Would you recomend this bike? I'm about to buy it, but somehow all of those issues scare me.... Beautiful bike, but I think....overenginered.... I'm waiting for delivery of m package... Now I'm not that sure if I want it... What's your advice?
Well I still had to pay just under $400 for the first service. The warranty/recalls will be covered but I'm not sure if the labor will be...I'll keep ya posted. Still sucks to have a $25k bike just sitting at the shop...
Jaret Campisi labour will be covered under warranty also, bmw pay the dealer themselves for the labour and will the quote the hours etc. $400 is crazy for a first service though, only £70 at my the triumph dealer I work at in the UK.
I couldn't find the "Fat Like" button so I hope a normal like will suffice ;) Best to get the bugs out and fixed while under warranty. Have you ridden a shaft drive Bimmer Jaret? I would imagine there are pluses and minuses to it vs. chain like being heavier for one.
Tell Alex to get the Ninja 650, he will get bored on the 400 pretty quick. The 650 is my first bike and I'm thrilled with it. I was first considering the 400 too, but I'm glad I went with the 650. The 650 has a great mix of low to mid range torque, with more top end speed then the 400 but it's not scary fast. Perfect beginner bike IMO. That extra low-mid range torque just makes it more fun. The 650 also comes with adjustable levers, whereas the 400's are fixed Just have him consider the 650, I don't think he will regret it. Maybe they will let him test ride both and then he can make a well informed decision. The 2020 650's now have LED's, a brilliant TFT dash, and Bluetooth connectivity etc etc..😀👍
@Jimmy Doran agreed 💯. I just put an MRA windscreen on mine, Puig 2.0 extendable and foldable levers, they are awesome. Best of both worlds, can do shorty or extend em out a little more if you want. I also just installed a Yoshimura Alpha Works exhaust, it's so mean sounding and completely woke up the power on this 650! And you don't have to tune the bike if you don't want too. I probably will get either rapid bike ecu or a power commander at some point. I also have radiator and exhaust guards. Once the nice weather is here to stay, I'll have my new tires installed, I went with Metzler Sportec M7 RR's.. can't wait to try them out! Soon I'm getting the Metallic Spark Black rear seat cowl to replace the rear pillion and maybe a few more goodies here and there and I'll be done modding the bike for a while. I got my 2019 Ninja 650 this past August and got it brand new with 1 mile on it for $6800. You cannot beat the price of the Ninja 650, best bang for the buck, compared to let's say Honda 650R at $9600 bucks... There's extra money for mods going with the Ninja that make the bike all that much better 👍🔥💪
wheeew.would like to know more about the crank case bolts thing...while,the fluid coming offf the front brakes might be only about tightening a banjo bolt ,maybe a caliper shoe (inside the caliper) but the crankcase thing is getting me curious.....
damn sorry to hear that man...that's what I was worried about as well but luckily I can pick it up tomorrow and get on with the series. Best of luck to you.
even with a warranty.look at mclaren.they're about to go bankrupcy. flawed designs and poor quality products, combined with a very poor warranty work and ethics is goin to kill their brand.the lada of supercars.
Whatsup Jaret 👊 that sucks about the S1000RR 😢 but at least its covered by the warranty 🙏🏻 and i for one would absolutely love to see you do a Triumph Speed Triple build i really enjoyed the Daytona 675R build you did. Adam 🇬🇧
Campisi, I would recommend looking looking at some of motonosity’s page that has to do with this bike, he’s also had issues, maybe you’ll find some answers there
I think you should of bought one of those little tiny bike as you walked into that bike shop... LOL just teasing... Thanks for the video... Much love...
I'd be very suspicious of every new modell that comes out and doesn't have recalls. They all have their problems at the beginning - and if there are no recalls (most of them are done with the first one or two inspections at the dealers) it show the manufacturer just doesn't care.
@Jimmy Doran Maybe. But they all have recalls. And I tend to trust a company that handles it's recalls square and fair. Apart from that - for a real comparison we'd need to compare bikes that compete against each other in the marketplace. Like: S1000RR with all the bangs and wistles vs. a Yamaha R1M. Just comparing numbers by brand doesn't reflect the difference in complexity which exists between the modell lineups of for instance BMW and Yamaha.
I had a new 2017 superduke R that grenaded a gear inside the engine and needed a full rebuild before it even ticked over 2000 miles 😕 dealer had the bike for 2 months.
Great that the guys found a bad bolt on the crankcase . I mean , how do you find a bad bolt in a crankcase ? That would have been passed on if it was at the Harley dealer . Harley .... Oh it's ready to go , just pay us 1200.00

Hey Jaret, be careful with Ventura BMW. I bought my 13 S1000RR from them used. The motor dropped a valve after they did work on it and they left my hanging completely. Like a dumbass I had them install a new motor in it and they forgot to tighten the Fu%ing coolant cap causing my S1k to overheat and almost ruin the new motor (after already ruining the previous motor...) Just be careful. Doug, the shop manager, is a good guy I think but the people that work there are completely incompetent idiots and I would NEVER have them touch any of my bikes ever again. Those new triumphs are really nice.... I'd own one of those for sure....cool channel man, your vette is bad ass!...
Would a 2 piece suit be good for gear? Like for going to school everyday just wear the jacket would that be okay?
Wearing a jacket would be sufficient
@@prestondreynolds i heard that the 2 piece jacket is shorter, whould it be fine though?
If you're concerned about convenience/looks, get a jacket with a belt loop and something like Hood Jeans that are fully lined with kevlar and protection for your commutes. And a one piece suit for more....spirited riding.
@@knightsljx which one would be better, i heard leather is way better but is it necessary? Someone that i know told me to get a 2 piece suit and where the jacket to go to school and then later on go to a track and learn.
yeah do some triumph review man'
One of the reasons I cancelled my 2020 S1000RR purchase - the bike simply isn’t ready and looks like its being rushed to meet the high demands..
With the bluetooth thing I know with my Samsung note 9 i can have 2 bluetooth devices on it at once so maybe try it with someone's phone or something
Sucks. I'll get my S1000RR 2020+ in 2 weeks. Praying every evening that there won't be any issues. Luckily in my country (Thailand) they didn't even released the carbon wheels, so I'll get the forged wheels.
Jaret,
Would you recomend this bike?
I'm about to buy it, but somehow all of those issues scare me....
Beautiful bike, but I think....overenginered....
I'm waiting for delivery of m package...
Now I'm not that sure if I want it...
What's your advice?
I wish I could even own a 2020 S1000RR to have issues
Creator 262 he’s not spending anything to fix it though, all under warranty.
@@mostlymotorized do you understand what a warranty is? 3 years 36k miles, educate yourself
Well I still had to pay just under $400 for the first service. The warranty/recalls will be covered but I'm not sure if the labor will be...I'll keep ya posted. Still sucks to have a $25k bike just sitting at the shop...
@@JaretCampisi yes, you'll pay for first service. All labor for the warranty work is free of charge. BMW covers
I would imagine there are pluses and minuses to it vs. chain like being heavier for one.
haha thanks brother :) And yes I have ridden the shaft drive R nine T and it was a lot of fun.
The 650 also comes with adjustable levers, whereas the 400's are fixed
Just have him consider the 650, I don't think he will regret it.
I have a silver ThruxtonR but have an itch for a RNineT that needs to be scratched. Can't have both.
Lol, mine is at dealer for 3.5 weeks now. I'm making BMW buy it back, I'll get a 2021. Good luck with yours.
damn sorry to hear that man...that's what I was worried about as well but luckily I can pick it up tomorrow and get on with the series. Best of luck to you.
Thruxton RS is coming soon too.
Yeah that's going to be a sick bike for sure
Hell yes! A triump Street Triple build would be awesome. I have a Triple street RS and i would definitely copy some things from you :)
my 86 k75c is bulletproof new ones are junk 300,000 kms never failed or apart
Yes to the Triumph test ride and reviews!
That tft is absolutely beautiful
Please take out a triumph bobber 😍!
Sounds in line with their cars as well. Livable when under warranty, but once that warranty expires ...ouch!
Yeah I've heard that as well...wonder why people still buy the cars then?
even with a warranty.look at mclaren.they're about to go bankrupcy. flawed designs and poor quality products, combined with a very poor warranty work and ethics is goin to kill their brand.the lada of supercars.
It costs money to stay looking good and smoking the competition
No bikes are as reliable as Japanese Bikes.
Can’t even argue that
well BMW are know to be unreliable, japanse bikes are much safer
Whatsup Jaret 👊 that sucks about the S1000RR 😢 but at least its covered by the warranty 🙏🏻 and i for one would absolutely love to see you do a Triumph Speed Triple build i really enjoyed the Daytona 675R build you did. Adam 🇬🇧
Campisi, I would recommend looking looking at some of motonosity’s page that has to do with this bike, he’s also had issues, maybe you’ll find some answers there
yes I have watched all of his videos and we talk outside of youtube as well thanks for the heads up though :)
Sad to be honest i was ready to buy 1 next week but i think il go now for a panigale after i heard the waiting time with such litle issues
Lovin your vids bro
Thanks man appreciate that!
I would definitely be interested in the triumph bobber test ride review
I think you should of bought one of those little tiny bike as you walked into that bike shop... LOL just teasing... Thanks for the video... Much love...
Gee wiz, why do all BMW’s have recalls.
I'd be very suspicious of every new modell that comes out and doesn't have recalls. They all have their problems at the beginning - and if there are no recalls (most of them are done with the first one or two inspections at the dealers) it show the manufacturer just doesn't care.
They are BMW’s
@Jimmy Doran Maybe. But they all have recalls. And I tend to trust a company that handles it's recalls square and fair. Apart from that - for a real comparison we'd need to compare bikes that compete against each other in the marketplace. Like: S1000RR with all the bangs and wistles vs. a Yamaha R1M. Just comparing numbers by brand doesn't reflect the difference in complexity which exists between the modell lineups of for instance BMW and Yamaha.
I hate winter to cold to ride here in Utah.. jealous 😩😩😩😩😩😩
You should have gone for Triumph Street triple RS Bro...tht is some serious fun....:-)
I had a new 2017 superduke R that grenaded a gear inside the engine and needed a full rebuild before it even ticked over 2000 miles 😕 dealer had the bike for 2 months.
yeah all bikes have issues
The leak is coming from the calipers probably...couple other bikes had issues.
.... with Hayes brakes, like 1250 GS for instance, known issue since last year Feb. A shame!!
Test Box yeah they should have kept the Brembos
Greetings from India
Jaret Campisi.. im one of your biggest fun HERE from the PHILIPPINES
The GS is bad ass. U should buy one
try that ninja 400. It's awesome for beginners.
See man. MY Ducati Monster 2015 not one issue and looks way meaner than the BMW. Its a myth that Ducati has more issues than other brands.
What does M means in the BMWS1000RR M?
I would like you to do a review on the speed triple R thanks
Didn't bmw offer you another bike while yours is out of action
negative and it wouldn't really make a difference anyway as I need this bike to do the build series
Think it was more of a courtesy so that you could get home if you didn't have a car...
Really like your videos.hopefully soon you will try the KTM super duke 1290 R.
Man that must have been a bummer take it in and not even be able to finally take it to the max
yeah i was pretty pissed I'm not gonna lie
Jaret Campisi I bet man I know I would be.
Great that the guys found a bad bolt on the crankcase . I mean , how do you find a bad bolt in a crankcase ?
That would have been passed on if it was at the Harley dealer . Harley .... Oh it's ready to go , just pay us 1200.00
Please do a Triumph bobber and Street Triple R ride review. And Tom Cruise rode the BMW in Mission Impossible 6 in Paris 😉. More lifestyle videos please till the time you don't get the bike. Show some California to people like me who stay across seven seas. Love from India ❤❤❤
bruh imagine spending that much money to have such major problems like brake fluid leaking like wtf!
yeah not cool man
It is a certain thing to expect on the first year of new bikes and cars.
My buddy bought a bmw last year brand new and has had already 5 major recalls. Wouldnt ever by a new bmw
yeah I mean recalls are fine but I just don't like when the bike has to sit there for a long period of time in order to have them done.
Ahh Alex so close yet so far. Power Wheels makes bikes maybe you could ride one of those for a while. Just ribbing you a little man. Still think you should be shooting some videos 📷 🎥 as well. Alex you do have a TH-cam channel after all.
So Ducati is where it’s at.
If only you could post this mad machine to Australia :(
Major issues? A mysterious brake fluid leakage (sounds small) taking 24 hours to fix, plus a bolt to order...
Yeah, I think the 'major issues' was click-bait. Was expecting him to say that the engine had fallen off, or the wheels were bent or something...
He talks shit for viewers, can only be so creative plus he exaggerats practically everything
@@philbuglass4857 Thanks, Phil, I think you're right on. No response either from Jaret, so he must know this went a bit askew. He's a Ducati man trying to be open, but it doesn't sit. In authenticity, do Ducati only.
Don’t buy first model year. Everyone knows that. But you had to be COooOOllLl for your followers
Should've bought the aprilia!
Someone is a Ducati fan boy.
You should test drive the new Kawasaki z900rs. Would like to hear your thoughts on it 👍
Hey Jaret, be careful with Ventura BMW. My 2 cents.
Thanks for the heads up...luckily we will be replacing almost everything on the bike so it will be well looked over by the end of the series.
