I won this book on eBay the other day. It is a stunning book and it will be a great asset to my research! eBay is a great place to find rare local history books.

Great book and a great find, well done. 👍I come from a long line of potters who go back to the very start. Joseph Cyples was an important character in very early Longton pottery era. Today, sadly, virtually all evidence of this once great name has been eradicated. Cyples Lane no longer exists and I believe there is a good argument that Bennett Precinct should have been called Cyples Precinct, as the old Cyples Pottery occupied much of the site... but I'm bias.
Their most distinguished wares were called Egyptian Black, examples can be seen in Hanley Museum and on my Mother's mantelpiece. They do come up on eBay from time to time if you want to add another manufacturer to your collection 🤣🤣🤣
    Cheers 🍺
