- Sitting at the top of High Lane, The Riley Arms has been a cornerstone of community life for nearly two centuries. From its early days as a lively pub to its transformation into a modern Co-operative, this building has witnessed the ebb and flow of the area's history. As the Co-op celebrates its 20th anniversary in the former pub, we take a detailed look at the rich history of The Riley Arms, highlighting its architectural evolution, the people who ran it, and its role in the local community.

i never knew it had all that back garden, ive used this co-op for year and never noticed that big bay window on the side..... thankyou for the watch.. 💯👍
You're very welcome, we never know what history we walk by every day without knowing :)
Geez, I used to go the Riley Arms on a Friday or Saturday night as they had great local bands playing there. My parents owned a newsagents down Smallthorne bank so it was a short walk away. This would be late 80s/early 90s. Great pub and great music back then!! Shame its no longer a public house😪
It is a shame, but at least it's still in use so we still get to enjoy the unusual building :)
Wonderful vlog this one
Thank you very much! :)
Hi Jenna. Great video as ever. I’m a bit confused with the details regarding Burslem Surburban Club. Was Bank House demolished in 1985 and a new club built on the site until that closed and was redeveloped into houses? Cheers for any info

Yes sorry, there was another building there after Bank House, but the dates are a bit sketchy tbh.
@@TheRedHairedStokie Ok thought as much as my daughter had her lunchtime wedding reception there in July 1998. We were unsure if it was still in the Bank House building or whatever was there in its place. Thought it was strange
Where about are the mines in audley 😎👍
Sure they are the same tiles that are in the Talbot Bradeley
Ooh interesting! I'll have to have a look 😊
Not been looked after has it?
