I'll be honest... I'm a kid that like to spoil myself. Super vain. I only want it for the NFC usage. That's it... I don't have health issues. So I don't care or pretend to care for those features lol I just want pay for things with a tap of my ring.
It's an excellent addition for those people who are into exercising and health monitoring. It actually complements the watch for a total 24/7 coverage because wearing the watch around the clock in the long run it irritates your skin. So, watch during the day and ring at night. Thanks, Samsung. 👍🏼
I'm a watch guy, I have a vast watch collection and would never wear two watches so I could wear a smartwatch. This is perfect. I can wear my Seiko or Omega, and still track my sleep or workouts, ect. I'm excited 😊
i thought it could be an alternative for the watch which is not the cheapest, so I was excited to be able to keep track of my heartrate etc, without spending tons of money. Well surprice surprise it is more expensive then the watch...
I literally just want it for sleep tracking, which a watch, personally, is too uncomfortable to wear all night almost every night just to see how well I sleep.
If they indeed plan on not having any subscription plan, then I would be interested in this. I did have an Oura ring for a few months but then they started with the subscription plan so i just sold it.
Nice job on the review! I've been looking at the Ultrahuman Ring Air too-it offers more colors and sizes than the Samsung Galaxy Ring. How do they compare? Will you be doing a comparison?
Silver and Black in US sold out! Sizing kit free with an order. Get to figure out your size first then follow up with Samsung and order size based on using the sizing kit for awhile.
How well would this work with sports that involve you holding things in your hands, like weight lifting or racket sports. Won't it get in the way or possible get damaged. I normally remove my wedding ring before lifting weights for example, as I don't want to scratch it excessively.
I now wear both the galaxy watch and the ring. Since I combined the ring with the watch I have much more accurate tracking of when I sleep and when I wake. With the watch alone, before o got the ring, the Health application was saying I slept only about a third of the time I was asleep. The ring has fixed that glitch.
How come this type of device isnt monitoring blood sugar? I know it wouldn't replace test strips and all that but it would help a number of people. I would get that for my parents...
I've owned the McLear for many years, and recently moved onto the Tapster ring. It allows you link cards and in the UK you can link it to a Curve card. Found it works more reliably than the McLear and don't have to worry about 'topping up'
But the mclear is a completely different use case. The Samsung ring is a fitness trecker for those who love “normal watches” and do not need the extra functionality a smartwatch offers. 400$ is btw cheap compared to the competition. Al of those require a active subscription
Honestly, if the health trackers are as good as the watch truckers, then this could honestly be a great product for people who dont want a bulky or eye-catching watch on them just a small generic looking ring
Love your Videos. I already pre ordered but had to get free sample to try on my fingers. And I guess I can have it as to share if someone wants to buy it and knows the size.
I have an oura ring and was wondering when competition will come up to match them and finally a big brand like Samsung did it. Hopefully Apple does too cause oura doing it via subscription is insane. If these big brands do it I’m sure they won’t have subscription models and will challenge oura to do better to keep up. Love the ring to sleep and track steps and my hr workouts cause I don’t like the watches or their battery life. The pinch feature adds nice touch to it hope they add more things to it like it.
@@z3ro7o Definitely would say it IS meant for that as part of wellness (steps, walking, a simple run). Since those aren’t anything too crazy. What I would say it isn’t for is tracking the fitness options most watches have that are meant for it that is more intense.

i have samsung s24 ultra and i dont have option of GESTURES on the galaxy ring what should i do ?or is it nor towking with samsung s24 ultra at all about the camera part ??
This explains why it looks matte in some videos and gloss in others. What a weird decision! In the pictures, I think the matte looks like a cheap pewter or tin or something. But then the Oura gloss is way too cheap and chromey. Hopefully Samsung's gloss is better in person?
@clint4237 The Samsung Galaxy Ring does not have built-in GPS. This means it cannot track its location independently if you lose it or it slips off your finger. You can track your health and fitness data using the ring, but it won't help locate the ring itself.
Whole point of having a watch is so you can see your phone without pulling the phone out, a ring??? That a watch can do with a screen, they kinda going backwards😂

@clint4237 I did watch the video, and you're wrong. What he mentions is Samsung Find, which helps find the ring itself if you happen to lose it, he never mentioned "Find my phone" a feature on smart watches which rings your phone
This is perfect for someone like me who enjoys mechanical watches rather than smart watches, but still wants a smart accessory
I was just wondering why would I get the ring instead of the watch. Thank you for reminding me.
I agree, I just hope I can read AFib.
Exactly 💯
Very true ❤️
Genuinely surprised by how many people actually want a smart ring! Pretty cool to see...

finally i don't have to wear my watch to sleep
This year ring, next year screen on ring, next year speaker mic, reverse charge, we all know this will go.
Yeah that's usually how technological advances go
And no one needs this shit, back then this shit didn't exist and people lived.

I thought the same freaking thing lmao, my watch is so uncomfortable to wear while sleeping and I sleep worse with it on
I hate watches lol
Didn't I just see this comment on another video? Bot
One ring to rule them all...
NFC?

@@eronic404 yeah I have the watch 6 and I for the life of me can not wear it to bed, this ring was going to be my savior butttt........the price!
indeed, i thought it only cost around $30 🤣🤣
This will probably be 100 dollars in a couple of months in the used market, most Samsungs have poor resale value
Tech rings are goin to be the new replacement for wedding rings it’s cheaper, looks better and does a lot more!
Eh they're cool, but I wouldn't say they look better. There's also the fact that a gold ring would last a lot longer.
Apple after 5yr: "Ring!"
I wish it had more gestures, control volume, or power control, something like that

Samsung fan boy. Hate my watch when I sleep. This is perfect. Signed up
Same
Literally the exact same thought precess
Could be cool if they have manage to put a NFC and use the contactless payment..
if the ring was a controler for the watch as well so it was a one hand operation would be a great future idea.
That is actually an ice breaker for good true relationship lol love it
1:15 mate wrong symbol, that indicates more/greater than 3 grams.
This is really the only item to be excited about from the unpacked event.
I like the watch ultra

Sadly no NFC or contactless payment
Exactly what were they thinking
I'm sure that would be an upgrade in the ring 2 😅
This is the only thing I was looking for
For that price, I’ll get the one off AliExpress lol
why is it 399 GBP in the uk that's like 500 USD it should have been like 350 GBP at most and even that is too much

I'm in the UK and I went to the Samsung experience store today and the silver one is matt not gloss. I really wanted a gloss silver one :-(
Does it give accurate blood pressure measures? The only thing I need it for.
Would've been nice to be able to pay with the ring as well ;)
Maybe Version 2 lol
Looking at the glossy silver in the video. It looks like finger prints are all over the ring. Kinda looking forward to the matte finished silver.
Is it made of titanium? I would like to see useful eco system features.
Buy the ring they said, comes with a heart rate tracker they said....
Waaaay too expensive for just a fitness ring, can't believe it doesn't do contactless payments. I'll be getting a McLear for 1/4 the price.

this how smart watches got started but it never took off. we finally have the tech. i would prefer a patch on my skin that this

You didn't watch the video properly... he said any android device running android 11 or later. But galaxy devices get a better UI
I wish we could customize the double pinch, but maybe it's because it may get many mispresses if it checks 24/7 vs during specific times
