Drove a new 9000 in '79 and it wasn't too bad with Nuway air suspension and air ride trailer.
Ford gave us an air ride cab model and all the team's got to make a trip with it. Fantastic ride but felt like the cab was going to fall off the frame when making turns. LOL

Liked the paint colour on the Ford but I bet it hurts being outclassed by a four lettered word.
Just love the sound of your pipes, I bet their great in a tunnel.

Seeing the CL-9000 was great, air bag ride. There was a c.o.e. back in the 1970's and was a prototype built by American-Coleman named the Coleman Space Star. The cab did not tilt as the engine slid out the front on rollers & rails. It had 4 drive & 4 steer w/ single tires all around. The front was rounded, had a sleeper,an 8-V 71 and a closet for the mufflers and pipes. The tractor had locking pins on the back of the cab attaching the 27 ft. trailer & making it a twin steer straight pulling another 27 footer w/ singles also. Surprisingly in test w/ the combo loaded, the 8V- 71 managed to get 7 or 7.5 m.p.g.! The tractor also had an aero top letting the air flow smoothly.

These trucks remind me of road tripping the PA turnpike and 79 from Breezewood to Erie as a kid in the 80s and 90s. Made the trek several times a year to go to my grandparents. One small truck stop up 79 had "18-wheeler cinnamon rolls." Big as a dinner plate. Each table had a little flag to raise if you needed the waitress.

There's still a couple cabovers around here in SW MN that run almost daily. Ones an International that pulls tanker for Viesmann. The other is a K100 Aerodyne with a dry van. Both awesome trucks.

very cool video Steve the old ford had much black but i digged the red kw with its fangs that was cool unlike carting hay yesterday hot as hell and humidity too also fixed the inside high beam lights on the KW t404s at the farm when Wednesday afternoon I took a 40 ton load of canola up to Geraldton coming back truck head lights were dull on high beam and I don't like the led spot lights too much glare off signs and its forecasted rain for the next few days so I be fixing stuff at home but the lighting on Thursday night returning in the truck was awesome no harvesting here probably next Thursday

Nice Ford CL9000. Here's a couple videos that really show what the original owner did to that Ford. It's really awesome to see a older truck modernized. Look up these titles on the tube: OLD SCHOOL TRUCK DRIVER 1991-FORD CLT CABOVER. AUTOMATIC TRANS 98 DETROIT ELD EXEMPT and here's the listing when it was for sale: 1991 FORD CLT 9000 HD8117RJ370. Thanks for posting the videos. Awesome angles that you film from...Keep em comn driver...stay safe

Them old Hilton or "Falcon 2" Ford Caboers are like Marmon's of Today's world. On my Dream list to own. Have been told by many owner's parts impossible to find. I believe it. Best looking truck of the time IMO. They're going for over $65,000 these days Restored. Some up to 100K.

Greetings from Ohio! 🤩 Glad that you’re still rolling up and down the highway, safely! 😁 Those cabs have always had air ride, but when they first came out the airbags were located in a place where they were susceptible to exhaust heat and would blow. They changed them quick! That’s all I know about that issue. I’ve always liked that Ford style of cab and my brother has one now. Sweet truck! It has the Silver 92 Detroit engine. You know how I feel about cabovers...Cabovers Rule! 🥰 I enjoy your videos, as always! Stay safe, bro. 😎

60 series is not necessarily a newer motor for that truck, they came out with the 11.1 and 12.7 liter in 87. As usual, love your content, keep up the good work

Looks like you spend a lot of time somewhere in my neck of the woods. I'm at like 80 and 81 right off of exit 141. I have a truck shop there, kind of old school, greasy oily dirty floor junk trucks up on the hill out back, heavy welding equipment, big forklifts, backhoe, stray cats wandering in and out and a few dirty bikers stopping by. Not exactly a ta or a flying j or whatever

Go to Calvin leek to see the owner of the green CLT. He calls it the Green Turtle. His name is Harold. Super nice gentleman. Last of the highway old school cowboys. It has a Detroit series 60 with an Allison 6 sod auto and he has a remote control to raise the hood.

I know its a little late for this but in a past video you mentioned the differences between a 352 & 362. The biggest being the big windshield and triple wipers. For whatever reason, I suddenly realized that I had a friend who had a 362 but it had a split windshield with 2 wipers like the 352. Turns out it was an option for the 362. I don't remember what year his truck was but I thought you might find that interesting.

    Ford CL 9000
    best dashboard in the industry!
when all systems are in proper operating parameters, all the gauges in the cluster read 12:00.
You can just do a quick visual sweep over your gauges and tell right away if something is off. (I think this should be an industry standard.)
Wonderful ergonomics from that driver's seat too
the bad things about these air-ride cabs, especially the earlier units (the later models like this '91 had the 'bugs' worked out), was that they did ride like glass, but if you found yourself in icy conditions, you couldn't feel the road! Not good on black ice!!! :(
what was that round hopper-looking thingy you were hauling??
Looked like a snow-thrower for a big truck!
Be safe out there driver. Keep 'em coming
