Your hoisting yourself up onto the tarps, reminded me of years long ago when I too could do that. Though never a trucker, I can relate to your maintaining and pride in driving the cab-over. After serving our country, I got a '65 Chevy S/W with a 283 cid mouse, powerglide 2spd trans and 3.3 RE. Not enough GO. Soon I pulled out the weak mouse and trans and dropped in a freshly rebuilt - 9.2:1 406 cid with Edelbrock dual plane manifold, topped off with a Holley 650 carb and a custom ignition setup centered around a very capable MSD 6A ignition box, MSD low ohm wires, firing .080" gapped plugs. Behind it was a THM400 3spd trans. A TransGo shift kit was installed and with their tech help, it became a sweet ride. The cam's power curve was ~1600-5400RPM upshift. Usually the car of the driver who saw this S/W as a slug, shifted into 2nd gear while this wagon had plenty of 1st gear left. That wagon pulled ahead and from the outside, moved to the left, establishing itself in the outer driving lane ahead of the other car. I put a lot of time into that wagon 'cause it was my pride and joy to drive.
I just put some new Wilson antennas on my truck. Was hitting that railroad bridge on 33 steve, just down the road from kreilkamp. Had to lower them down a bit.

I ended up buying a old Landoll trailer from a tow company In Texas after the front punkin disintegrated on my 77 KW COE.. had to use the Halliburton asset I was hauling to tow my truck home with the Landoll then had to pickup the flatbed on the next run..
You are very lucky on Orwell. You can R & R the trans. You can get him home without a tow truck. and finally Orwell is paid for in full. No repairs and payments. Anything else that is yet to be discovered you are fully capable to fix.
Good Job! A quicker and better way to chain the rear is a chain between the duals. allows for the suspension to work and if the bags deflate no problem chains are still tight!

I didn't realize you were a gymnast! lol nice work there. Orwell needs some good care, he is in need of some paint and rust cleaned up on top. Lots of leaking parts too but I guess that keeps the underside from rusting in the salt you run all winter long in.

The last truck I pulled home on an RGN was a 99 freightliner fld120 condo sleeper, it was to tall obviously, a company truck with a blown motor, I called the company they replied and said they would send someone out to take care of the height problem, I was thinking maybe take the wheels off? Nope the guy they sent out was ordered by my shop to cut the roof off and strap it to the frame on the back! After driving 1600 miles home in the rain and the tarp blowing away, the truck was parted out!
I meet a driver with what I feel is the perfect trucking job, delivering brand new tractors to a customers. I thought DEF was put into a separate tank to be mixed at the injectors? I had a thought; why doesn't diesel manufactures mix DEF into their fuel, then I realized diesel engines in cars don't require (I believe) DEF? DOH! (at 20:40), oh it was a separate tank, now time for the diesel.
Working around high power lines,,doesn't it gives you a mad headache ? It does to me,,that antenna is your am/FM radio,,because steel whips for CB are flexible,,so you knew you had to remove the upper exhaust pipes on Orwell,,because of low underpass,,clever!
