  • In this one, we put everything back together and see if she does what she's supposed to do.

    Nice job. I realize I'm watching this video a year after it was made. My dads pressure washer started doing this the other day where the cord was jerking back. I swear that thing nearly broke two of my knuckles. Anyway now I at least know what to check on his to see if I can fix the problem. I gave you a like on both videos and I subscribed also. Thanks for the info Buddy

      Thank you sir. I appreciate you taking the time to watch. Hopefully yours will be an easy fix.

    What? You completely left out the actual repair? C’mon man.

      Yeah. So, when I posted this video I was still learning the editing process. There was another 3 or 4 minutes of me replacing the rocker arm and adjusting the timing. Somehow, when I posted the video, it was gone. Not sure why or how. My apologies sir.

      @@AverageJoes4u Thanks for the reply. I'll keep watching, as I'm sure you'll cover many things that will educate me. I did enjoy watching your process of elimination in locating the problem.
      Thankfully, my livelihood does not depend on ME being able to edit a video; good luck with that. If you can diagnose and repair an engine, I'm sure you'll be editing your videos like a pro in no time.

      I'm working on it. I appreciate your understanding and thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate you watching!

    Ah man! I wanted to see you replace the part and adjustment if needed. I have the same problem and wanted to see what I needed to do.

      So, I actually filmed that and it was in the video.. somehow when I uploaded it, that part disappeared. I apologize.

    Doing the exact same thing on mine , only the rocker arm looks fine,

      I would check the valves and make sure the flywheel key isn't sheared.

    Subscribed because you showed us the end.
    It takes as long as it takes so don't stress about video length,it is when publishers talk too much bs & mess about that gives viewers the shits,good work 🍻

      Thank you. I appreciate that. I shot me actually replacing the rocker arm and adjusting the valves but when I started editing, the clip was gone. Thanks again for subscribing!

    Check oil & level on the pump side & inline filter as well,when you get a chance 😉

    One has to wonder what caused the rocker arm to break. A valve guide that has moved is a common cause for broken/bent rocker arms on these engines.

      I'm not positive but I assumed it was a valve issue as well. Before I bought it, he had taken it to a shop. He said it ran but the cord would snatch out of your hand. Misadjusted valves maybe?

    Great job! Checking the oil in a Honda engine is different from a Briggs and Stratton or Tecumseh, check it out on TH-cam or call the dealer. 👍👍

    Ok, all I have left to do now is get started on mine, so when checking that key on the flywheel is there a need to remove the coil? I’m thinking resetting the gap might be an issue snd if i don’t have to I’d be better off
    Thanks

    • @AverageJoes4u
      @AverageJoes4u  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should be able to see the key from the top. You may or may not be able to tell if it's broken. As far as the coil, it's really not bad. You can slide a business card in for the gap. A lot of people use a dollar bill folded in half. It doesn't have to be exact. I know you're having a snatch back issue but does the unit run? If so, your key is probably fine. I would start with the valves. Just my humble opinion.

      @@AverageJoes4u matter of fact after getting my arm nearly pulled out of its socket 😂
      I did get it to run, and as you , did not have water hooked up 😳 oh well
      Hey thank you, I will go after the valves
      Is there a special sealant we need to use?

    • @AverageJoes4u

      @@nutthrower4415 on the valve cover, I just used black high temp sealant.

    So you stuck silicone back onto the cover!? Don't Honda make a (cork?) gasket for that thing??

    • @AverageJoes4u
      @AverageJoes4u  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. They do make a gasket for it. I think it's a paper gasket though. I didn't have one so I went with the silicone. Wouldn't necessarily recommend that but I didn't have one so I just went with it.

    • @killer2600
      @killer2600 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The factory gasket is Hondabond high temp silicone liquid gasket.
