I was getting quite excited at 9.41 as you went up Portchester creek, you were about to pass our boat, then you were suddenly coming out of the harbour again. I have sailed the Solent for more than 50 years and you showed me parts of Wootton Creek I've never seen! I could never convince my father to get anything other than a deep fin, so we were quite restricted.
If you had carried up Southampton water and taken the right hand channel into the Itchin is where I keep my boat. I live 10 minutes drive from Brighton Marina but its not a great place for getting in and out of and once out your straight into all sorts of weather. Wooton creek is beautiful, we went there a couple years ago, will definately be going there again this coming season.
Can Roger or anyone else identify or ever heard of a Phoenix 37? One of your countrymen from Liverpool bought this center cockpit cutter from South Africa, named her Finesse, sailed her to Jacksonville, FL, USA and died. Another bloke bought her from an estate sale, and sailed her once. Now she sits at risk in terrible topside shape and is slowly becoming derelict. I want to save her if not too late. Any info from the UK would be greatly appreciated.
oh an "umbrella" same as a "bumbershoot"? also in an earlier vid someone mentioned a "knackered engine" oh well back to translation class, thanks! well it would be nice to contribute but alas we both have to "pule" on that item!
You're not a good judge of character from afar! But thanks anyway. I'm an OAP trying to get my head around this IT lark!-- especially UTube , so l can live out my daydreams of yesterday. Keep up the good work. FK.
