    The best half-hour wasted this week. Wonderful filming, lots to laugh at, and a real sense of a quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trip's over. So rare.

    Love to see the Cliffs of Dover, spent many happy hours near Seaford camping with my parents. Dad and I were rescued by the coast guard helicopter in 1956 when we were trapped by an incoming tide!

    Really enjoyed this one! Especially the crew evaluation at the end. All your work is outstanding and very much enjoyable! Many years from now people will still be buying sailboats because of you.

    wow brilliant, I've just bought a Jaguar 21 it's on Rutland water only sailed dinghys and that was many years ago, you've now given me a goal of getting myself to a standered where I can sail solo on the ocean doing something like you've been doing, thanks for the insperation.

    Brilliant clip here gents.... Fantastic, you made me feel like the North Sea is a sailable and not something I need to dread (too much) when I sail from Sweden somewhere warm, via home....
    Cheers boys, I had a laugh..

    Enjoyed this video. Centaur appears to sail really well into wind despite having Bilge keels. Off the wind guess it flys along. Looks like a keel stepped mast with standing headroom in cabin. A good little starter boat for sea sailing.

    Thank you for producing this video. This is one of my favourites, reminds me of sailing in big wind this summer on Lake Ontario. We only have five more months to go until launch. I'm already going out of my mind and it's only mid-December.

    Well done to the crew of ktl great video we are planning a UK circumnavigation in 2016 after seeing your route East non stop ish,,,, for 500nm I think I will follow in your wake with a crew then me and my better wiser and prettier half can sail in short hops leaving Disarray in Scotland to winter 16. Then slow hops home to the Solent in 2017. Your film has shown me what's possible cheers. Mike

    Nice one, Dylan. Looks like it was uneventful... which is what you want. Stick a link in the description to your crew's YT channel with the Westerly restoration, I can't remember where you linked it before.
    Thanks.

    By the time you have completed can you claim that you will have done a 1&1/4 circumnavigation of the British Isles? Or is it further?

    • @KeepTurningLeft
      @KeepTurningLeft  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Michael Caton I shuffle back and forwards all the time - I crossed the Wash seven times. So the concept of a circumnavigation starts to lose its meaning - that is a good thing I think. This summer I am taking Katie L through the narrow cansl to Glasgow and then back up the west coast to the minches. I also plan to spend a year in the North sea and then go around the outside of Ireland. It would be rude to go to the channel isles and not go to see our Breton Bretherin.D

    Have you formed any opinions about the arch? Any significant effect on righting or balance?

    • @KeepTurningLeft
      @KeepTurningLeft  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LEB 3 I think it looks horrible but it is really useful - great to lean
      against, good for boarding, great for putting electronic gubbins on,
      good for cockpit canopy - I doubt that it has any impact on stability

    Great video thanks for your efforts. I like the Centaur quite a handy boat very similar to my own boat (Nova 28 Wooden construction circa 1980 called "Summer Breeze"). I sail mine around the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand which looks like similar conditions if a little warmer and blue. I recommend the ability to reef the main from the cockpit very convenient and safer particularly as I sail solo handed quite allot. However I do just sail on the big furling headsail quite a bit which gives amazing control when reach isn't too tight. Yeah the camera never does the waves justice does it?

      John Edwards Single line reefing is next on the list for Harmony. The Centaur is a fine boat - a good travelling machine

      +Terry Holden 26' I think. I'm pretty sure all the Centaurs are 26 footers. Course, could be a TARDIS yacht! :-)
