Many people seem to be split on FICSMAS, but I honestly think it’s fun. If you don’t want to do it, then don’t. But if you want to experience something a bit different and festive in satisfactory, then you might enjoy this event. After all, it’s free. Timestamps Below! Christmas light power lines are worth it. I only dedicate 1 machine to each item and store it in a small container. I do want more seasonal events, but that's just me.
There are solutions to all the negatives, route power in through a Switch (or Priority Switch) and bring the Iron and Copper in with a train on a bigger rail network. That way you can shut down everything when you're down and can route the regular resources to another Factory. Anyone complaining about the resources consumed isn't actually utilizing 100% of the world's nodes (Anyone who is would've completed FICSMAS day 1 and not complained). There is so much Iron and Copper in the game and you don't even need a full 250% mk3 Impure node to clear the MAM tree. Also if you don't cheat the calendar, setting up one Smelter/Constructor/Foundry making each part should be enough to fill an inventory by the next cartridge unlock day. You can spend the majority of your time just building other stuff. I wanted to go full on into FICSMAS so was making buildings the weeks before, and then once I started getting unlocks they werent fast enough so I'm jumping my PC date/time to get the rest, and even then am barely spending a few hours getting it all going. Cleared the MAM tree yesterday and am now waiting for the real life day when Fireworks unlock just because.
I want to mention I am about a month in and was pouring in the hours in November. When the event started I had just mastered coal. It was fun for this to come up after hours of learning the game, and getting all the cheeky ADA quips about wasting time and resources, and you get this quirky little "stick it to the man" with a holly jolly attitude. I have not gone nuts, but I have kept up and made small storage areas with each step, so I can keep playing along. There is a little holiday area. (20 x 20, if that is little, which it is, in our worlds!). I like it as a newbie. If I was brand new, it might not be helpful to show up. Since I have reliable power and know how to make more easy to generate, it was a nice break. Merry Ficsmas!
2:55 same lol as I live in Canada we already have a bunch of snow and I hate it, but I love Christmas and its decorations, so in video games I don't mind it.
Christmas Lights and Snowballs (the boomy kind) were 2 of the main things I liked from my first go-around with Ficsmas a few seasons ago. I mass-produced those Snowballs to give me a more-or-less a lifetime supply. I preferred using them late at night when I didn't want explosions waking up the neighbours or deafening me lol.
I started a new save after beating 1.0 the first time, and have really enjoyed the ficsmas event. It's just enough to give you something to distract yourself with without setting you way off track. Also I love to piss off ADA.
I'm designing my factory to make 10 Stars per minute, which should take 150 copper and 225 iron. Hardly breaks the bank, especially since it's only for the event period.
As this is my first Ficsmas and didn’t know how to get going with it, I have found your videos and others most helpful and informative getting the event going.
After Day 8 you are at 69% complete in the MAM. Im having fun with it as my 1st time goung through the event, Im reserving final judgement for the end of the calendar.
Trees alone make it worth it. I'm doing this End Game multi building build in the Dune Desert right now. The trees and even snowmen looks freaking sweet going down the peaks of my solid gold pyramid. Or just putting trees in an area and having more nature going on. I really like to build around a natural feature and use them as center points in my build for a posh look.
It is an entirely optional event. Noone forces you to engage with it. You can even turn it off entirely. Anyone complaining about it is just being an absolute child.
I'm my opinion this isn't even a debate. It's an optional even that you can turn off if you don't want to take part. Also if you want the things from it, make then and then destroy the things you needed to make what you wanted.
I finished 1.0, got all achievements. On a new map and blitzed to the final phase. On a megaproject for nuclear power utalizing 1800 uranium ore and the fismas event has helped to not go insane and break my brain on the logistics required to make 100s of thousands of power
Today I opened three doors on that Ficsmas calendar and got the latest unlocks. As soon as I saw that the new pieces need copper and iron I was like "yeah I'm out". I just don't see any point in the building new temporary production lines for the Ficsmas stuff. All the other stuff so far related to ficsmas could be created with a simple constructor and smelter setup which I just set up and then switched recipes whenever I got back to main base. The new stuff though requires more time investment and setups and I just don't see what I'm getting out of it...
Just bring it in on a Train, then when you're done with the event reroute the train to a regular factory, that's my plan, in fact its the first (technically 2nd, I built a push pull train for coal/sulfur in the abyss cliffs) train system I built in my world and is gonna be the first part of my world train route.
@@DanielisAwesome52 The question still remains on why I'd even want to do that. There isn't really any benefit in building a production line for the Ficsmas stuff.
Once you get the hat trick of alternates to make nitro rocket fuel, power needs are trivial. Just make a football field size of fuel generators, and you're set.
Hello, as I finished the game last week, I decided to start a new save with a brand new ficsmas plan. I'm enjoying every minute and every aspect of the game, it brings joy to my life during my birthday and xmas month. My birthday is next friday, the 13th. Also I'm a woman and I don't know many women who plays Satisfactory... ! so Yes Ficsmas is worth it !
@@TheValhallanPickle thanks I've started my new save in the dune desert, just beside the "pink" mountains and the waterfall, coordinates 2250, -1770. It's going well so far !
Considering you can opt out via settings - I don't see any need for a debate in the first place. Those who like it, simply play with it - those who don't deactivate it and get a little bit of praise from ADA...
How do you define “Worth?” - this is a game that generates no value except personal enjoyment. Even then the goal of the game becomes a joke because if play long enough you just “sink” all the items you make eventually. Don’t get me wrong, it’s my favorite game, but it’s not like you really lose out on anything of worth if you do this event.
I'm doing it cause it's my first time. I'm just having trouble. So depend of my performances in this FICSMAS, i will think in my head if it's worth it or not for my level.

Major Problem with Ficmas is for those who are managing Community Servers.
A lot of Updates that requires babysitting the server and community.
Next year. This year i have my hands full learning the ropes. I just unlocked trains and it's eating my brain.
Getting the quips from ADA for doing Ficsmas is alone worth it.
Yeah he missed the major advantage - endless snark and back talk from ADA... At least until they just patched it out.😢

Im doing it for snowmen worker crews 300+ snowmen through the factories looks great
That’s a good idea 😅
GET BACK TO WORK OR I'LL TURN THE HEAT ON!
Those poor snowmen lol

Do u get anything as a permanent unlock. Where u can use it throughout the year?

Its just something extra to do. It sucks... but its also very fun
