No one is even talking about it, it’s underrated you should go check it out and make a video about it. Trust me it will have worth your time.
The way they merged history with AC lore is phenomenal. I miss this stuff in the latest games. I remember being creeped out solving the puzzles, as if i'm accessing forbidden knowledge
Yes!! It was so good. That secret knowledge is something that's missing from the newer games. It's the cool hidden secrets that made AC different from a history game.
The Truth is in my opinion one of the most important aspects of Assassin's Creed lore, since it details more than what the games depict. It really goes to show that the War between assassins and templars and the hunt for relics of Eden has been going on for over a millenia, all across the world.
For real! Modern day used to feel like uncovering an actual secret conspiracy about history, modern day/first civ stuff in the new games feel like straight up sci-fi/fantasy its lost all mystery
The problem to me is that they've already revealed too much about the Isu at this point, so they don't feel mysterious anymore, so I feel like even if they try to bring back the conspiracies angle it will kinda fall flat because the foundation of what made them work is gone.
I bet the people working on the game nowadays don’t want it associated with “conspiracy theory” stuff because they don’t like the type of people that aspect of the story attracts.
I remember solving these glyphs back in the day. It felt SO creepy like I wasn't supposed to know anything they revealed. I was super disappointed that the later games didn't continue this trend
Back when Ubisoft actuallg would put effort into the lore and mysteries. I remember finding these and feeling like I was uncovering some secret history or conspiracy. Like it felt creepy and special and like you were part of something bigger.
Not only was Ford the only American mentioned by Hitler favorably in his book but Ford also tried starting his own city in Brazil called Fordlandia and ran it like a slave owner. Not a good guy at all so seeing him mentioned in this game was the least surprising to me haha
While I am one that enjoys the pre AC4 modern day, I must admit that some of the puzzles in these games were so obtuse that I would not have been able to 100% the game without a guide.
Happy you uploaded this. That’s is literally the topic not a lot of people touch up on because it’s just so passable. The intertwine between our actual history and the history will be solved created within Assassin’s Creed was so good.
Things like "The Truth" are what AC has been missing IMO (I haven't played Mirage or Valhalla so if they have something like that then dope). It's been missing that mystery element that leads towards the horror of the unknown. There's a soul inside the machine, has always been a fascinating topic for me and I do like how it was explore in the Ezio games. Also big missed opportunity with Juno, who could've been a cool spin on that concept, instead of "There's a soul inside the Machine", Juno was "There's a god trapped in the machine and It Wants Out"
Valhalla had animus glitches wich will also reveal a truth video after completing them all. I loved them, because they gave me this old school AC feeling, but obviously it didnt have the same depth...
That's what made AC's modern day story so interesting. It was a mystery, an unfolding conspiracy. The more recent AC games aren't subtle with their use of the pieces of eden or the appearance of the Isu. None of it is mysterious, they tell us exactly what's happening and that is boring.
This here was the peak of assassins creed, when the writing and story was fantastic. This specific story around subject 16’s glyphs was absolutely incredible, truly transformed a 13 year old me’s perspective of history at such a young age, I owe a lot to these developers at this time
The scariest part is that a lot of the information had some truth or facts backing the theories. And most of it didnt understand until I had gotten older that the developers really pushed the boundaries of information hidden in the game
71646 - Month Day year, July 16th 1945 = the date of "Trinity" the United States First Nuclear Bomb Test, seems fitting that would be the code for that Glyph.
I remember being up until ridiculous times as a teen obsessing over these. This kind of "secret depth" is probably one of my favorite concepts in all gaming
Honestly, Assassin’s Creed 2 was creepy when you tried doing the glyph puzzles. There was something about when you either scanned the photo of Joan de Arc burning on a cross where you hear her screaming late at night that made you question what you were playing. Then when you’re scanning photos, the captions like “THEY MADE IT LOOK LIKE AN ACCIDENT” or “HE ALMOST BEAT THEM” where it was in all caps was unnerving. And the CGI for the Adam and Eve clip was unnerving as well since they didn’t exactly look like humans but humanoid
Exactly man. They removed the conspiracy theories and God/creator secrets with the new writers. Once they made up a term called "Isu" everything became different from the original
One thing i liked the most about old AC titles is how writers played and flirt with the ways/reasons how historical events came to be. The final outcome was almost perfectly accurate to real life history. But the way how it came to be was fiction and i love that creative alt history path they took. The last AC title that bothered to interest you in studying history was Origin with they Tours mode in which they led you basically thru interactive museum of Egyptology. I freaking love that they included that. So naturally now when i see AC Shadows i feel like they took a dump on their own legacy. They really replaced devs that love history with devs that wants to rewrite history.
Who ever put together the deep lore of assassins creed is a genius. I remember playing AC2 for the first time, doing the glyphs and being fully convinced by the info being dumped. Even tried convincing people that our history is all wrong lmaoo

6:44 I'd like to point out that the same sword happend to be in AC Unity, even the same or nearly similar model of it. It amazes me that such a small detail was included many years after AC 2.
Hey bro I know It's kinda stupid to say but could you please make a video ranking assassin's Creed games based on how underrated they are ? Thank you so much for the heart brother ❤️
im 24 and played ac2 for the first time recently and the glyphs STILL gave me this uneasy feeling. something about the real history with the creepy twist too it makes it scary
I was thinking if you would be down to do a comic book/novel review of the assassin's creed books. I thought getting your thoughts on them would be pretty cool!
When Assassin's Creed 2 came out when i was 7 years old. I didn't understand the glyphs and i was horrified at them that i got nightmares for months. As ths older i get i realized these were lores that were set up, showing those who worked with Patrice Desilets were ahead of time. And the Rifts were actually about a plot that would about to begin for Desmond. Showing Assassin's Creed had a different plan. Since Desilets was forced out of Ubisoft. Now the series have been contradict of it's lore so many times and retcons what was already set up. It sad that the series has turned inconsistent.
The glyphs back in AC2 was one of the main reasons why I fell in love with the series. But that was back then. Now I feel like they just use the Isu technology as a reason to be magical.
now that I have replayed the ezio collection after spending years catching up to assassin's creed from rouge to mirage, I wonder how much of the truth lore is still cannon.
Hey great videos, I finally subscribed, love the mix of old and new AC content, the music form the Ezio trilogy always makes me happy. Also happy you include content from AC liberation too
Thanks for taking me back to when Assassins Creed was good. The newer games are a poor imitation to what AC was in the past. I stopped playing at Black Flag, but even then I had forgotten about the whole Abstergo bit.

We can also add the cutscene with Erudito in the multiplayer of AC3. We can see some advertisement for products and then a hacking video of Erudito showing that Abstergo is collecting data with this, like a connecting watch showing the heart beating or even controll the human brain with special sodas they sell in store
In The Background of Isu Eden you will see.....Mount Kilimanjaro; there is also evidence that people lived on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro as early as 1000 BC in Human History!!
incredible was the lore and hidden pieces in AC2 and Brotherhood, thanks for going in detail about them! I surely miss this type of mysterious side of AC games today.
The modern day Desmond arc in assassins creed 1-3 was really good, to me thats where the story ended and exactly when i stopped playing the series. Even black flag didnt matter to me, Desmond was dead
The illuminati is an awesome story point and I love it when half-fictional media gets into it for the plot. AC was so good and they should have gotten weirder with it as time went on. Made room for so much more twists
I feel like the writers missed a good chance to connect the classical gods to the Isu and the creation of humans by Prometheus and his subsequent punishment for giving them fire (a means of liberation).
To this day those glyphs are the best part of the franchise to me. First and foremost, they're unnatural. Yes, the Animus is unnatural, but we settle into it and assimilate into the world of our ancestor, practically becoming said person. And then the glyph comes along. It gives us just a little information and asks us a question, which we manage to answer. But the information it uncovers has us asking a thousand questions. I was obsessed with finding them all, even though they never brought me much closer to a cohesive answer to any of my questions. It's actually what I really liked about Valhalla too. A few glitches pulling the player out of the simulation and laying down tiny pieces of information for us. I just wish there was more of it.
I adore these puzzles they add so much to the lore and they can be genuinely creepy Though I'm still confused about giving Houdini an Apple of Eden. Like....the guy was an escape artist, how does an Apple of Eden help him? Apples mind control people and make them see things, they don't give you the power to phase through straightjackets.
As someone from Southeastern Michigan, I genuinely believe that Henry Ford covertly helped the Mustache Man. The Germans literally sent Ford a flag that's kept in storage in the Henry Ford Museum (can't really advertise how awesome Ford was when he supported literal fascists right?)
Came across this and then saw you did a codex page one as well. Watching that next. Was just replaying the ezio trilogy and decided to have a read through those pages, some pretty interesting lore for altair there.
I absolutely loved the creepy vibe those glyphs had and i liked the idea behind it, revealing that there were templars and pieces of eden involved in all those historical events, i found that very interesting and would have loved to find out more about those events, how they (realy) happened, in future games, but this didnt happen as i hoped...
one error, Eagle Vision is NOT a Bleeding Effect! it is due to Isu DNA inside the human race. the BE presents experiential memories and actual physical memories to the Animus user. the BE taught a barely Apprentice level Assassin Desmond how to do what Altair and Ezio could do physically, mentally, and emotionally. all this within an incredibly short period of time and limited amount of physical practice. as Altair was a Full Assassin and in the Future both a Master and Mentor level Assassin. later on Desmond learns from 'the ground up' yet again as Ezio did from his father Giovanni and various allies of the Assassins in Florence, Rome, Constantinople etc. Desmond essentially reached a Mentor level TWICE as Ezio was a Mentor, running all the Assassin cells of Europe and West Asia/Constantinople from his Headquarters in Rome, Italy and Constantinople, in future Turkey.
I had done these so much to the point where i could do them straight up without looking up the solutions. Even in the rare times i replay ac2 i tend to collect them just out of habit. They were fun.
Yes as a kid the glyphs in assassin’s creed and the ending for mgs2 were the scariest thing in gaming to me. Only to be accomplished during the daytime
Back when Ubisoft cared about each minuscule detail and design in their games finding out about the hidden details and “the truth” through the glyphs made it feel like you were stumbling towards something much deeper and sinister something younger me didn’t understand until I was older it was about how the templars had tampered with world history since the very beginning sucks Ubisoft never expanded on that or the modern day story what a shame
I remember when i was like 5 watching my brother play ac 1 and leaving the animus and seeing the glyphs in desmonds room creeping me the fuck out and then like 5 years later when assassins creed 3 came out and seeing the same 12 21 12 date in the intro and remembering it from all the way back in ac 1 and everyone around the time actually thinking the world was gonna end cus of the mayan calendar was crazy times
That's why to this day i reply AC 2. Brotherhood i still haven't but it was so damn awesome to have this super amazing story of Ezio in game coupled with the wildest conspiracy unraveling. I've completed the game 3-4 times and i still do everything every time. Not to mention, the seal collecting for the best armor they've ever made too.
Weird fact, but The Truth puzzles even connect to Assassins Creed movie and video games like AC II: Discovery and AC Rebellion with references to Staff, Torquemada, Spanish Brotherhood etc. Maybe not even a fact, but its a neat little detail.

I had done these so much to the point where i could do them straight up without looking up the solutions. Even in the rare times i replay ac2 i tend to collect them just out of habit. They were fun.
11:34 this! I can still remember how freaked out his voice made me lol
I really wish Ubisoft would’ve kept the story going with the glyphs/rifts. They’re eerily interesting and I love them.
Yes as a kid the glyphs in assassin’s creed and the ending for mgs2 were the scariest thing in gaming to me. Only to be accomplished during the daytime
Damn this was more interesting than the past 5 games!
The code mentioned at 11:38 is a reference to the date of the nuclear test
Yup July 16 1945
Fond memories with these glyphs. Got to play AC 2 for the first time back in 2018, and my girlfriend at the time helped me solve the puzzles. ✨️
The best glyph was the one in ACB about the TV monitoring the guy, super well done and very creepy.
11:23 the code “71645” represents the date (0)7/16/(19)45, the date of the Trinity Site explosion test of the first nuclear bombs.
Can you do a "Family tree" of Desmond Miles? Would be really cool to know the story
Assassins creed modern day sequences and unlocking hidden secrets feels like its straight from x files, the writing on those games are amazing
I've seen these symbols before, but I didn't know the whole lore behind it, it's insane 🤯
Now how about animus island's lore as well as Clay's lore from the dlc? I'm surprised you didn't bring it up since it is part of the Ezio trilogy
Weird fact, but The Truth puzzles even connect to Assassins Creed movie and video games like AC II: Discovery and AC Rebellion with references to Staff, Torquemada, Spanish Brotherhood etc.
Maybe not even a fact, but its a neat little detail.
It was such a unique way of adding mystery to the game
Yurij Gagarin was the first soviet assassin in space
If only they would bring this mysteriousness back in modern AC games. Conspiracy Theories, SCI-FI elements.. it was the golden age of AC
