I never found a partner. Around 48, I decided I had waited long enough, so I closed that door. I am perfectly at peace with being and remaining forever single. Society has convinced most people that you MUST have a partner, yet few relationships are fulfilling. People are uncomfortable about my singleness, so I appease them by saying that "the door is closed, but not locked." But really, I don't plan to give up my freedom and risk what is left of my life. There is NOTHING wrong with being single. I am with myself.

Everyone has their own path through life, and no one’s path is better or more “right” than another’s. We are all different and that’s the beauty of the world. What matters I think is that you’re happy, fulfilled, and at peace with where you are and where you’re going, or are working on getting there.

Yep, same here. At 54, I've never managed to find a long-term partner either. The last relationship I had was around 5 years ago. He was 9 years younger, drop dead gorgous and a refugee from Iraq. Didn't work out in the end because of cultural differences. The reasons why I'm still single is I am too picky, I don't take everybody and I am afraid of dependency and subjection. I have a busy life and, right now, I don't really pursue a relationship; however, if it happens I'm open for it, but not looking desperately for a partner at the moment.

Stop with the toxic crap. Guarantee you she gets into another relationship with next stud who comes along. She's getting older and needs validation. Why can't woman just be honest for crying out loud? Smfh! That fact that, at her age, she is on a public forum talking about all her relationships is ridiculous! This doesn't require that much thought! Grow up finally and move on and stop looking for validation! I swear, most women just love being dramatic and hearing themselves talk!

Well pardon the hell outta me. She is bearing her Soul to us so we can each talk, ask, maybe find out wth we can due to learn to love ourselves. I had 2 parents who loved each other until they both died. My Mom was Widowed for 10 years yet she never went on even one date after my Dad died. He was 10 years older than she was. He was my Hero who always put his family and God first without being like some of the Christians who are just plain nut cakes all year long. Yes I believe in God,Creator,Source,Jesus. Was raised my entire life in Burch yet I can say that you can wear out your knees in prayer and without putting in the work. Besides thinking Something outside of yourself and no effort except to pray. Is crap. Do it expect anything to save your from yourself. I have the same thing with men Yet my Dad was never hot and cold. He was always the same. He gave love unconditionally. When I lost him a big part of me died. Yet I feel his Spirit after I allowed myself, time to grieve. We are enteral beings we have a Soul it never dies. It just changes form. This has been proven. I’ve divorced someone I loved very much. Yet not for the reason anyone knows. He did. Yet I have never remarried. I’ve been married the first time was for eternity. So I thought yet it was not. We began to grow yet not in the same direction. He was not a party person or one who liked to due drugs, drink. Yet we had so much in common as I did love people, dancing, yet I did t go to bars. I danced like nobody was watching . Yet he as we were both young. He began to want to go to bars, party, experiment with different things as well as other women. I gave him 10 years of my life and would if he had not decided to fall in love with my bestfriend who was also a married person. I hated him in the beginning for breaking up our ho e a d family. Yet now I have grown the hell up and realized. We did love each other.we would have never had our child. Especially me. Because I always had a feeling deep inside that I would never have children if I had waited . We were married for 4 years before our family started so it was not a shotgun wedding. Yet we started to grow in different directions. I didn’t want to admit it. I went back to School to finish my Cosmetology Degree which I had to quit when I became pregnant. I had that very serious type of sickness. Where I would have to be given IVs several times due to how bad I threw up. It was 24/7. I had a hard pregnancy due to my near fatal car crash. I was hit by a drunk driver.I guess is the reason I have never been one to party and drink, smoke, due drugs. That and my Dad was in Law Enforcement for any years. Now I feel that yes our marriage was meant to be it gave me my on,y child. Who is a awesome Father, Husband, who has had a 20 years in Law Enforcement retired and then went back to work again with a different kind of Law works less dangerous. He is 41 years young. He is like me. Ever smoked,is not a drinker, beater of his wife and kids. He was always a awesome kid. That makes me proud. I got to be his Mother. Yet people change. It can be as my parents who grew in the same direction. They grew closer every year. So they had over 52 years together. I’ve always looked for a man just like my Dad. I got lucky once. However he died. I’ve been divorced for almost 18 years. Has not remarried. Yes I’ve had relationships. Yet I cannot marry. I may ever. Yet it’s ok. So I’ve shared alot. About my personal life. I think both you women. Need to show some gratitude for someone Like Lisa to share her pain. I honestly do not feel at this point of her life regardless of how old she is. She has found herself. Does this mean she is not drawn to men whoa t in a certain way. Just for example. Most do not show their true self for a very long time. Most I meet are so all giving, are so happy to be with me. Tell me how beautiful, hardworking, goal oriented. I guess a type A personality. Then I’m hit with someone who then reveals whom they are truly. They also know I have a heart. I forgive. I could be a very rich woman. Yet each time I divorced. I didn’t ask for what I should have. I was like no.Let them take it. Yes I’m worked hard put one thru College. He is a Doctor now. I lost y ho e. I could have made him pay for. Plus Alimony yet the weird thing is I’ve always tried to end even when I was not the one who wanted out. Yet I realized I had to ma,e that step. Because if not the yo-yo effect would keep me their. It takes a hell of a lot to just leave your dream home. Yet it’s just things that can be replaced. If I’ve learned one thing in my life from my Parents. Is I’m not greedy or a gold digger. My inner peace is worth more than any amount of money. So I am thankful for Lisa being ho est and she has never dogged down anyone. Yet I’ve saw alot of catty remarks from other women. Which makes me ashamed. We should help each other up when we fall. Not cut us down or want all the dirt. On every detail. I,love you Lisa and I hope one day to meet you. Love and Hugs Suzanne Your a strong, beautiful, loving women who doesn’t give up.I respect you so much for this.🦋🙏🦋💗💕💓💖💞🐞🧚‍♂️💐

Lisa, I’ve had the opposite with men and completely distrusted them. I was sexually abused as a child and never had a good male role model in my life. I was a teen Mom, had 3 kids, 11mths apart before I was 21 then divorced in my late 20’s. I gave up on men and was single 30 years. In my 50’s I started the healing process. I lost 120lbs (armor I kept for protection) became a Sexual Assault Counselor and met my husband. We’ve been married 5 years now and I had to get myself together before Spirit brought me my twin flame.

God is our first love. We put Him first. Anyone who hasn’t learned this will keep having break ups or be struggling more years then it had to be and will always struggle unless they find they need Christ first. We aren’t suppose to struggle so much getting the right person. God will bring them to you when he knows you are ready. I have no tegrets putting my children or grandchildren children ahead of me because God gave himself and I take after him. I am not to neglect myself but I know Im nothing without Christ. My soul will pay eternally and my family wouldn’t even be with me in eternity if I hadnt called upon the name of Jesus. They wouldn’t have been trained up in the way to go so that when they get old they wouldn’t depart from God. So dont take the secular fix of putting yourself first, put God first and he will guide you. He may not even want someone in your life if it takes you away from him. We should be ok with that or keep going for the wrong relationships. That is our biggest problem is always reading books on self love that deters you from the creator who knows best. He knows whats best for you. Stop and start drawing closer to him. He died for you, shed his blood for the remission of your sin because you are a sinner who cannot enter into his presence. Realize this. Then realize he was victorious and he resurrected to give us life eternal. Have you called upon him? Repented which is turn from your sinful life to the life Christ had for you through forgiveness of sin. Then read his word, pray and kneel down to him not to self and relationships. Trust him for your life and your salvation. Then go tell those you love how to be saved. They have a soul and need Christ. Another thing is relationships still work for their relationship even if saved, but they are guided by the Holy Spirit and he can help them through anything as long as Christ is first. I hope you know I say this all in love not puffed up by knowledge but with truth. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. There is no other God. Be very careful to not reject his truth or it will be your soul for eternity that will pay that price. I hope you heed warning.

I would genuinely like to know what your parent's reaction was when you told them, as a 16 yo teen, that you were getting married to a 30 yo man. What were your friends reaction? What were HIS friends reaction? It's hard to fathom that your parents were on board with that.

I am glad women are speaking up. Too many times we keep quiet. We don’t empower ourselves or other women by sharing our stories. This is why it works for men, because we stay quiet and don’t have anyone to support us. I too share some of this stories, i am tired of doing more than my share in relationships.

Something I learned from a friend and it’s very true for myself. You tend to be attracted to a certain type of man, they will also be attracted to you. Abusive men, alcoholics, there’s something about that type of person, if you can figure out what it is, you’ll learn to spot it right away and can avoid that relationship, it will turn out the same!

What kind of parents allow their 16 year old daughter to have sex with a 30 year old man? I think that's actually illegal in most states in this country. When you began your story with that, I had to stop listening and watching at that point. I know you're always expressing love for your parents, but quite frankly, they did you no favors by allowing you to have that relationship. No wonder your life has been a shit storm. Regardless, you should be taking accountability for the things/mistakes that you made and did to make your relationships fail. It's a cop-out to not do that. It shows that you're being obtuse and smug. Smugness is repulsive, so don't let yourself go there. We are all to blame for what happens to us in life. Just admit your wrong doings while you're telling your stories. It will make you more respectable and believable.

I had to spend time with me and stay in one home on my own for a long time to really get free. Now I know that I can have a stable home that will not be affected by any relationship. Stable home and stable mental health comes first, always. I’ll never be in another relationship like the last one I was in that just ripped me apart when it ended. Now I focus on taking care of me and my life‘s purpose, The reason I came here. You look so beautiful in this video! 🙏💗💗💗

We all walk a different journey for different reasons. Nobody fits into one stereotype or box like society likes to pretend we do, especially regarding marriage, relationships etc.. Relationships can be a difficult thing for many reasons and sometimes we are meant to look within and reflect, spend time alone and know we are worthy enough without someone else, thinking they will fill a void that only we can truly fill ourselves. Every relationship I've been in has made me stronger in life and I can see it has for you as well. We are constantly growing each day regardless of our age. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, your struggles and how you are moving forward to be a better you through it all. You will help many people along the way because of your bravery putting this out there. We all go through struggles regardless of what area of life it may be in, because we aren't perfect and again I believe we continue to grow until we aren't here anymore to do so. All the best to you Lisa! You are a beautiful, strong woman and I know you have wonderful things ahead of you in your next chapter of life! 💞

These types of conversations are extremely needed. Thank you so much. This was incredible. What a story and what a life you've had, filled with so much personal growth and learning lessons. Now I understand why you were able to pick up and leave the way you did in a relatively short period of time. I mean months instead of years the way it took me. It was years and years until I was depleted when I finally left. I know now I had very little self love and self worth. So that's why you were able to recognize dysfunction a lot sooner, and lot easier. You knew so well what self-love feels like that you could easily recognize what the opposite feels like, and that's how it saves years of indecisiveness. I hope you continue to share your insights. I know it takes courage to put yourself out there and talk about these heart-wrenching, personal experiences but there's so much Good that can come from this kind of generous sharing.

I was told by a trusted person, "people treat you how you treat yourself. "
Are you being genuine, nourishing, loving, telling yourself the truth, taking good care of yourself 100% of the time?
People follow your lead, it's completely predictable what you attract.
Until we own that we often create, enable, or justify our own unhealthy patterns very little changes. It is not noble or more honorable to use codependent behavior vs narcissist behavior, people pleasing, deciding for people that they can't cope with your direct needs so you don't ask or share your real self, you decide for people that they will be too hurt or offended so you don't share your authentic experiences to control the narrative, you abandon your genuine self for ideas you made up without including other people.
    Raw truths.
I can pinpoint the exact moments I betrayed myself at the start of every relationship... then they followed my lead.

Thank You Lisa, for "baring your soul". My wish is that every young person listens to this video from start to finish. I've found that women tend to give and give until they feel broken. Your words resonated perfectly to those of us who have grown along with you. My favorite Buddha Quote...“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”

I, like you will not stay in a relationship where I am not honoring my self. I remember I had an epiphany once when a previous partner was putting me down. I couldn’t stand it any longer and I blurted out “I cannot agree with what you are saying! You do not value me and if I agree with you, I am betraying myself! I have not had an issue with that since. We are treated the way we allow ourselves to be treated. Period. If someone is abusive, we have the choice to leave. Kids, no kids, house, no house, it is never worth staying and allowing our spirit to be broken. Thank you!! You are a light in this world. ❤️

I use to refer to myself as "Cinderella" and " The Kool aid mom" always taking care of everyone else except me. I admire your strength and wish you all the best in your future ❤️

What an amazing video. It’s like I came across it at my perfect time. Im sorry you’ve been through so much. I’ve seen some of your heartache and physical challenges and boy o boy you are one strong lady. Im at a point in my life where I am listening to my instincts and honestly I’m on the fence. I feel so much lighter and happier when I’m with my children but once my husband (25yrs) enters the picture theres so much gloom and a feeling he’s raining on my parade. And when mental issues are added it’s an even harder decision. Im not trying to take away your light I don’t think anyone will ever succeed at that but feel like I can let go of some tension I’ve been feeling for a while. Good bless and wishing you all the best.

I think maybe you don’t see love-bombing as a red flag because you grew up with a very loving father. It makes total sense that you would think that’s just normal. Thank you for sharing your experiences. This was such an insightful video that will help a lot of people.

Why do you always blame the women instead of putting the blame where it belongs and that is on the men?
Shame on him for lying and pretending to be something he wasn't.
We need to hold men accountable because if we don't it will never stop.

@@winning3329 hi friend! You’re absolutely correct, we should be blaming the men! I’m sorry if my comment comes off differently. It doesn’t hurt to examine your experiences and use your experience to avoid toxic people in the future but you’re correct, it’s never the victims fault.

@@jschaub2011 both of your comments were very thoughtful. sometimes people project their negative perceptions onto others without realizing that’s what they’re doing.

Wow! I didn’t expect that at all from the “makeup lady”. I’m I new subscriber who find your channel by looking for beauty ideas for mature women (I’m 48). But this was great and so useful. I really can relate with almost everything? Thank you so much ❤️

I'm so glad that I watched this. It made me think about the painful divorce I had to encounter 5 years ago. I am 56 and would still like to find that special someone but like you said, we need to love ourselves and take care of ourselves first. Excellent point you made there.

I remember when that divorce video came out 💔 Your videos are helpful. I’m enjoying following along your journey! It started with the bleach fail video for me.
