When I think of the album AM, I always think of the Queens Of The Stone Age album Like Clockwork and vise versa. Two brilliant albums that came out months apart that I still go back to regularly. Also the fact that both Josh Homme and Alex Turner both appeared on each others album. I always feel a strong link between each album.
YES!! I bought these two on CD at the same time cuz I was still driving a car that had a cd player at the time hahaha. Forever two of my favorite albums!
I would argue that in many ways they're opposite. Arctic Monkeys simplified their sound to it's most basic elements on AM and Queens made their most ambitious and conceptual album with Like Clockwork. I do also feel like although AM is pretty great, it's amongst their weakest, and Like Clockwork is QOTSA's best.
@@bswalem Yeah, the two albums are nothing alike. They just make me remember the time they both came out. I like the Arctics, but AM isn't their best. Queens are my favourite band, and as much as I love Like Clockwork, their most ambitious and one of my favourites was Era Vulgaris. But I think their best will always be Songs For The Deaf or Rated R.
@@lulusheffield1884 interesting - I def felt he was himself for the car too, but watching interviews of miles and Alex together makes me think his tlsp personality is v natural to him
@@alicestbrt he is an enigma! Alex is Alex and deserves a lot of credit - but Zane has one of the greatest drummers of the modern era right in front of him and won’t stop going on about the guy’s best friend
He’s more than Matt’s best friend - he’s the guy that wrote the songs on AM, lyrics and melodies, and he’s the front-man - there’s only so much non-drummers want to hear about drumming.

So happy that this iconic, falsetto-spiced, feel good, chart topping, critically acclaimed, Mercury Prize nominated album is on the list 🖤 Far and away their best album in my humble opinion
Ironic they're interviewing Matt about an album in which he had to simplify and downplay his drum parts significantly. Each of the first three albums deserve this spot more than AM for countless reasons, one of which is that Matt's skill can really shine through.
How is it that no one has anything to say about this great interview, and what Matt said, rather than just this pointless ‘yes it is, no it isn’t’, ‘I’m right, your wrong’?
Exactly, songs like Do I Wanna Know, R U Mine, and Arabella are the soul, the sound that hooks people to the album/the feeling that hooks people onto love. While No. 1 Party Anthem and Mad Sounds are the heart of the album, they're both in the middle of the record, and they have a more honest look at the message of the album/the meaning of the search for love. 10/10 Amazing Album
Whatever people say should be on there. Way more electryfying, way better written, arranged and produced, band is tight as heck, just vicious amounts of energy all through out.
For me, it’s in the top 10 of best albums of all time. It’s an absolute masterpiece, and people don’t seem to see that. Hopefully, in the future it gets that recognition
He says it’s more than a metaphor, not more of a metaphor - he really had to leave the party. I suspect the party got out of hand on the LSP tour in 2016.

Josh produced Humbug and they're all basically really good mates. Josh sang on Humbug, Alex came up with the word "Kalopsia" for Like Clockwork, etc.
