What's your favourite Arctic Monkeys Era/Album? Let me know below! :)
Whatever people say I'm am, that's what I'm not ❤️
Humbug!
10 years ago I think it was the first album. Now I choose Humbug
Favorite Worst Nightmare is pretty good
Can't beat the early days
what a time to be alive during that first album.
would love to see the Strokes tones
Strat ceramic middle pickup/ ES 335 with p90 + Fender hot rod 1rst generation + Visual sound jekyll and hyde
I just wanted to be one of the strokes , now look at the mess you made me make
Aquí no hacemos eso
Those base riffs in the first album are so iconic
You've gotta cover their bass tone as well, I find (especially on songs like ritz to rubble) it was a huge part of their sound, even to now
I've been waiting for this video for a while. Huge respect to you Harry! Hats down that you could get your hands on the exact same pedals they used during this era (H&K Rotosphere and the Pro Co RAT). I can't wait for part 2 (Humbug-SIAS era).
I hope you're planning to make a video of their current live gear. I'm still amazed how beautiful Jamie's live tone is 😍
Thanks mate! Definitely will be more videos in this style coming soon :)
Great video! Love the format and production quality. Keep em coming!
Thanks so much man!
This couldn’t have come at a better time because i have wanted to sound like there earlier stuff. Much appreciated!
Awesome video, please do the later albums!
Thanks man! Will do!
Amazing, you have to do the same with other bands !
Thanks man, definitely will! :)
the strokes next please mate
Great stuff this mate. Just solid content for people who want it. No messing about, no click bait. Complete respect for what you're doing.
Great vid man, the tones were so close you got me singing lyrics I didn't know I remembered. great stuff
I was only listening to the audio and I thought he must have been playing isolated master tracks
You have done a tremendous job in digesting and deciphering their work. I’ve followed you for a long time and love the growth and your love for their works of art! Keep up the awesome work.
Bordering on Punk is the best way to describe their sound, their tone can go from soft and sweet to gnarly and pissed off so quickly
Would love if you did a video like this for The Smiths
I can’t wait for the rest of this series!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Harry plz do more of these types of videos
Great video Harry! You should make one about their modern sound, I love the humbug, and tbhc guitar sounds
Love this format for which I've ben waiting so long! Great job man, I love the quality of these videos. Hope we'll get videos of Arctic Monkeys' later albums and maybe also other bands like the strokes or the smiths. Thank you so much for your dedication!
Love this ❤
New series in the making
Come on! Make it happen
Thank you Harry for all the efforts you give to create such a good channel, every time I watch one of your vids I'm amazed how close you sound compared to the original.
Your tips with the gear to use and setup are pure gold.
Please continue this way, you rock !
Cheers from France
Just to point out, The Hughes and Kettner Rotopshere was also used for the famous "Teddy Picker" Solo. And also Great video man thank you so much I have been looking for videos that talk about the tones they used for their songs, Thanks again.
Not true!! There’s radio live sessions where Alex and Jamie use them both for a lot of songs off the second album! :)
Great info.! Jamie's choice of a Telecaster is a huge part of the reason why I got one. Glad I did and now I have three...
Formed at my old sixth form college in Barnsley - where I also learned to play guitar in the mid 80s.
You nailed it! Well done.
You played the view from the afternoon better than the original recording
Love it when you make stuff like this, broski! Super high quality content, as asual! It's nice to see you get "personal" and talk in this format.
Saw Arctic Monkeys live twice! When they came to Vancouver at Orpheum and then when they started getting bigger at the PNE. So awesome to see how far they've come!
I don't even imagine how much effort you put in for this video. Very interesting watch, thank you!!!
Love this format !
This is done unbelievably well. Bravo.
love the second album, so so good
Great idea for a video, mixing a bit of history of a band with the gear side, waiting for over bands
beautiful guitars!!
Love this. ❤ well done my man.
please do more vids like this! loved it
Really interesting video and fantastic playing
beautiful guitars and sound, great work!
For the 505 lead, have you tried using the neck pickup? I think with that + cut bass and boosted mid/treble it sounds pretty nice and smooth
Hey, Harry. Good Job, bro. Cheers, from Brazil!!!
Awesome video! Huge fan of the Momkeys since the early days the analyze of their sound makes me want to dive more into how they made it, and practice some Songs.
My preference goes to the 1st album and the 3rd Humbug.
Thanks for this video and great job! 👍
Brilliant video - Thanks!
awesome vid man
Great Video Harry, really enjoyed that! 🎸
Thanks mate!
Youre a legend Harry
So glad I found your channel! Good stuff here!
Love the format of video, Harry, very nice !
Please continue with HUMBUG, SIAS, AM…and after with TB & CAR! Cheers from Italy 🤟🏻
Awesome, Harry. Regards from Mexico City.
Thanks, great video, need to get some Arctic listen...
would love to see you do other albums of theirs as well!
great format
Love this video so much Harry, do The Strokes next would love to learn about it as well! 👌
Blimey you nailed the sound af! Also, what cab did you use here with the Orange AD30? not sure you mentioned it.
yeah, I was asking myself the same.. Would be interesting
Amazing content
oh, thanks for this video Harry! cheers form Mexico
Thanks for watching! :)
i think the hughes and ketner is on alexs guitar solo on teddy picker too
Great idea for a video. Analyzing they’re tunes.
Solid. Do more albums. Phoenix or queens or killers
Nice video!
Thanks man! :)
Fantastic video!
spot on. 👌 Mardy Bum sounded beautiful! 🎸🤘
AM. Love the tones on that one.
very well done research harry! thanks for the information
Great video man hope you do more like this love stuff like this
Great video Harry! The first album I played so much 😂
Hope theres a part 2 to this.
love this. thank you
Challenge: QOTSA tones. Notorious to nail. As always, amazing vid :)
Nice video style, like so much
good video bro, greetings 😂
Thanks mate!
Amazing job! If yoy made another one for humb or suck is and (or both) would be awesome! Cheers
The strokes next?
Awesome video
Great tonez!
I just decided to start guitar and I also started because of Arctic Monkeys
I wish you showed ur amp settings
i love you harry. greetings from Argentina
Funny you mentioned Oasis. No other band since Oasis captured my attention sonically as much as Arctic Monkeys. Maybe the Australian band Jet, for a short while, but that was it.
That “maybe” is doing a lot of heavy lifting for Jet, there.
Do more for all other albums)
definitely prefer their earlier stuff, funky energetic riffs and fun storytelling lyrics
Also Quality B-SIDES from this era! Live especially Plastic Tramp another Fast RnR Hammering It Tune!
Can't wait for part 2 H!
Cheers Mate 🍻
Edit Live at The Apollo 07? Is The Best for Me! Playing the 1st 2 Albums is Class Man 🔥
i love 1st and 2nd album
Hi Harry, how are you? I really like your videos, especially the ones about arctic monkeys, red hot chili peppers, the black keys and others. I saw your video "How Arctic Monkeys Defined Their Early Sound" and I was thinking, wouldn't you like to make/would you be interested in making a video of arctic monkeys explaining how delays they use, like sound examples, testing, talking about ms and repetitions, also about the slightly saturated sound as "clean" and about the distortion/fuzz, for example, using a boss sd-1 (which happens to be what I have, and I bought it precisely to play this type of sound/e also because of the new frusciante board :D) like slightly saturated sound and a fuzz face/big muff as distortion/fuzz or even if none of those fuzz works, use the rat and why use rat. If you are interested, also analyze the modulations, phaser/chorus/rotary/505 (and if you can use it with whammy, that would be wonderful).
So far, your channel is the one that deals most deeply with the arctic monkeys band, so I think it would be interesting both for you to do and for people who like to watch.
We really like your channel, and don't just stick to this band, you can do it for anyone, thanks for the help you always give us!
Greetings from Brasil! ❤
I love your videos bro!!! and your jacket too! where can i get it?
I like these new videos
Hey man, nice video. I don't wanna criticize your job, but you forget to mention that Jamie Cook used a Big Muff and Distortion + in the first record. Also, Alex and Jamie used Bad Cat Amps for a while before the second record.
Yes he used those pedals a lot, but much more for the second album, I don’t think he used them at all to record the first album, the tones are too simple on the first album, there’s no way he used a muff anywhere…
All great great sounds, brilliant breakdown, well done you. Subbed!
Just wondering, what would you use speaker wise with the AD30?
Thank you
Sounds great! What cab/speaker did you use for these sounds?
I enjoy your videos
You should give one for humbug too
Niceee pls one for the early KOL
very cool
Alex also used a Vox AC30..
Artctic monkies are like an experiment in how we can do the libertines but for a wider audience. Nothing comes close as far as uk indie goes, doherty is an actual genius in comparison imho.
I wish you would have went over the amp settings!
You can see them in the B Roll shots, bottom knobs :)
@@HarryAndAGuitar awesome thanks! you nailed the tones btw. sounds absolutely killer!
I wish their music still had some grit everything they make nowadays is just lounge music with Alex doing his best Bowie impression
well now i want to listen to the arctic monkeys
Really like this kind of video! Can you also analyze other bands like KOL, The Strokes, and Oasis?
For sure! :)
@@HarryAndAGuitar Oasis would be great!
Humbug is my fav
Amazing as always. Can you tell me where you get the backing tracks from?
