I went through the nhs, my referral was accepted in early April 2021, I was given my date in July 2021 and my surgery was originally scheduled for the 29th September 2021. I couldn't recommend Mr Fitton enough, he's an absolutely incredible surgeon. I've had my surgery now so have some videos due to be uploaded in the next few days about my experience with him, which might be useful for you. Good luck with choosing your surgeon!😊

I'm so sorry to respond so late! TH-cam held your response to be reviewed for some reason, so I couldn't see it. I had problems with my referral, I was actually referred for surgery in August 2020, at my last nhs appointment, but the gic forgot to send it so I wasn't put on Mr Fitton's waiting list until April 2021. Always call them to check if you don't get confirmation that your referral has been sent!😅 I then recieved an email from his secretary in July 2021 with an appointment for my consultation to be in September 2021, as well as a date for my surgery to happen two weeks after the appointment. I don't know if it's different because of covid, as I thought there'd be much more time between my consultation and surgery. So it was three months from being put on the waiting list to being given a date for my consultation and surgery, and then a month and a half to my consultation, and another two weeks after that to my (original) surgery date. I hope that makes some kind of sense!🤣 The delay in my referral being sent and then my surgery being pushed back from being ill just adds to the confusion.
