Sweet car! My first car back in 1977 was a 67 GT fastback S code 390 H.P. 4 speed. Black on black. Paid $1000. Bucks for it back then. Loved that car! Sold it in 1979 for $1700. And bought a 1968&1/2 GT Fastback 428cj 4 speed white with black interior for $ 2000.
I remember when these cars were new in the showroom. The first time I saw a mustang in real life was when I was a kid at the 64-65 New York Worlds Fair. When I was in High School a friend of my older brother had a 69' Mach1 4 speed.
What a beautiful mustang! Nothing like a small block Ford Motor with a 4 speed, gives me goose bumps. Would like to see you feature this car again Evan.
Beautiful car, lovely tribute. I have a 289 in mine. The idea of the 390 appeals to me but I’m very happy with the 289. It’s a great engine with a great history in racing from the GT40 to the early cobras, especially the FIA models. I love it. I see a lot of touches here I would love in mine but not that easy to do over here in Ireland without a lot of money. Well done Chris, a car to be proud of.
Another great video Evan. Thanks much. What a beautiful classic Mustang, and a "Bullitt" look-alike to boot. I had a 69 Mustang Mach I fastback back in the day. I appreciate seeing the old iron on the road and not relegated to being trailer queens. Great job with your Mustang Chris.. love the Bullitt look and was surprised hearing the 289. Sounds very solid. Like the manual transmission, no ps. Driving that jewel keeps you on your toes I'm sure. Love the attention to detail you put in the car. Im sure you turn heads everywhere you go. Enjoy your classic and please supply with updates you do to the car. This has me walking down memory lane...🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Blessings from Texas...
Another great car, love this Mustang! My second car was a '67 coupe. Black interior, think it was the Arcadian Blue exterior, factory 4V 289 with Melling cam, three speed manual, 3.50 gears, and A/FX headers I bought from JC Penneys back in the day! (75 bucks!) wish I still owned it. We are enjoying our current car, a '73 Mach 1, and the a/c works! LOL!
Back in the mid 90s some guy had a Mustang for sale not knowing what it was. I went and looked at it. It was a bullet replica 1968. He wanted $1000 for it. I didn’t buy it. I still regret it.
Unlimited smiles per gallon. Perfect technology, No power steering belt. No vacuum leak To assist a lazy foot on the brake. And those transmissions shift quite well without the left pedal. It's technically semi automatic.😊
Wonderful... I'm sure they will make a Bullit remake soon, they might as well use this car. As much as I like emblems and chrome abundance, I love the clean and simple looks of this... And the best sounding engine is a SBF, or a BBF, no doubt about it.
I test drove a 69' Dodge Charger as my first car to actually buy with my own money. Ended buying a 69' Ply. Road Runner. My first actual car was a 65 Barracuda hand me down.
That man Chris looks like he can take care of himself. The haters at shows better watch their snowflake rears. Cool driver Bullitt Mustang. What good is it if you don’t drive it?

The paint sure looks beautiful!
Nice. I saw the movie back in 68. Great film. Great job on this tribute.👍
Me too, the week it was released. at the end of the movie, people got up and cheered and clapped.

Awesome car. 67-68 there both awesome.
He has a beautiful car well done, and I do like the 67 over the 68
Nothing like a little 289. Great Content.

Just seen the car on BaT. Great build! 💯
I red once that they used the engine sound from a GT 40 in the movie.
Nice video and great car
"VIN number, on the apron!"

They can absolutely use it for the remake! As long as they have another one to crash too!
@@christopherbennett597 yeah.
Wait a second, you are the owner of the car! I didn't realize that in your message. Congratulations man, amazing car.
Lol . The sound track for the Bullitt movie , was a 289 .
I test drove a 69' Dodge Charger as my first car to actually buy with my own money. Ended buying a 69' Ply. Road Runner. My first actual car was a 65 Barracuda hand me down.
EVAN, COBRA CORRECTLY, NOT SHELBY. 🧐👍👍👍

Great video and beautiful car! Where did he get the steering wheel wrapped?
Sent it to a upholstery shop in California, would take some digging to find who they were. Chris
289 looks so little in those classic mustangs lol
Disappointed to see a small block..... I'm a FE guy , so a stroked 390 would have been my choice.
My first car in 1976 was a 390 GTA fastback.
How'd Chris get the same license plate as the movie car?
It's a fake plate to put on front for shows. Chris.
why go to all that effort and not install marker lights
Cause 67 didn't have them
@@christopherbennett597 didnt have a wood dash either
Stunning ❤❤ whats she pulling power wise ?🎉🎉
Never dynoed but my guess is 270ish
