There are several throughout the Western States. They’ve been doing this exact work for decades. 1. Silk Road Rescue 2. Great Pyrenees Rescue of Montana 3. Mountain Mama’s 4.Colorado Akbash Foundation 5. Great Pyrenees Rescue Resources Utah/Montana We all trap and foster Pyrenees and Akbash that are abandoned by the sheep ranchers. We do it ourselves and we all work together to bring the dogs in from the brutal industry.
It's sad that there need to be so many organizations, but thankfully they exist and are out there doing the work that needs to be done. With Unega, they want to become a partner with the ranchers and find a way to work together to get ahead of the problem. It would be great to see that come to fruition. Thank you for sharing these other organizations with us
You are welcome. We all work with ranchers too. You should get to know some of the other rescuers. They are amazing! One of the rescuers that I mentioned lost his home and rescue property but never gave up on the dogs. He’s now living in a private campground on rented property in a trailer. His name is Randy Carpadus. He owns Silk Road Rare Breed Rescue in California. It’s just Randy and his lady Carrie. He just doesn’t get the credit that he so richly deserves. He is a Rock Star in the LGD rescue community. Look him up. I look forward to seeing your movie.
We'll have to check them out. Thank you and hoping you'll be able to see the film in the near future! We are working on distribution and are currently doing a film festival run.
Thank you for your donation! We are still screening at various film festivals, but have made some connections with people who want to help with distribution on major platforms!
@@BellaandNikola And I wish I could help. My Pal Hal just crossed that Rainbow 🌈 Bridge. And I need another Pyr probably more than just wanting their company. But Of Course. I need Both my hips replaced. And promised Hal I would. Because we walked 2 1/2 times around the planet. Hal, probably did 3 😂 And all on bad hips over time, which I knew. But couldn't do anything with Hal. Because he needed me, for his medical situations. He had his First Cancer surgery in 2020. But did his thing like a Trooper. But age and everything else, finally caught up with him. I STILL FEEL I COULD HAVE DONE MORE !!! But 4 different vets, weren't agreeing. So it was a Him, or me thing. And it's the Worst, and maybe the best thing you can do for your Best Friend 😇🐕🦺🥰 ... doesn't make you feel any better though Hal Was A Texan. And lived his life in Washington. And I think he had some fun. I tried my best to keep up 😁 But also, a bit in the Red with all the vet stuff over the years. But can't think of a better use for money. So, best I can do. Is offer My Pal Hal's videos if they could help. I've never Monetized Hals channel, because he just wasn't about that. And I've stuck to my guns their. But anything on Hals Channel that could help, Just Ask ! ! ! AND,.. I should see if they have an old guy like me 😂 But I do love them as puppies too. Every One So Far 👍 ... sucks getting old
This is a huge problem in various places around the country and it takes tons of organizations to keep up and help. Unega is the only one in the general Blaine County, Southern Idaho, area that focuses exclusively on Great Pyrenees, Akbash, Maremma and other LGDs. Additionally, they do not take any owner surrenders, all their dogs are rescued from the mountains.
This is not meant to be derogatory in any way, but this video seems to be more about you two than the Unega Mountain Dog Rescue which is what I was very interested in seeing. So until there is a film about the daily/weekly lives of Felicity and her family going out on rescues and caring for these beautiful and soulful dogs, I'm really not enamoured with watching the two of you discussing your achievements in filming. I had hoped it would be more of a documentary!

I can't adopt or foster, but I did donate. Thanks for helping remind us they need our help. Can't wait to see the doc, too.

There are several rescues that do this “exact same work” in the Intermountain West
