Over fed pets stomach are rounded (much like over fed people).
We had a Great Pyrenees, lived on a farm, and he became every farms dog. Would walk miles from farm to farm, everyone gave him food and shelter and when he wanted to move to the next farm he did. Most gentle dog ever, super loving boy. Although he was known to be a coyote hunter, he never hurt any farmers animals.
I have 2, I call it a walk-about. Mine do it once a week, gone all day. My little farm has an unfenced creek out back. They get out somehow from a 2 acre homestead fence. Bessie recently didn't come home for 3 days, showed up with a broken hip and I had to put her down. I'm an old man and still cried for over a hour. Spike, her partner, doesn't go very often anymore and I now have 4 month old Brutus. I put fencing on ground under gates. They are wonderful farm guard dogs, don't even hurt the 2 feral cats that rat the place. But woe be the coyotes and feral dogs that try to get the farm animals. Stay safe, stay prepped. I have a 12 year Pyrenees that I carry down the stairs to pee every day because of arthritis and two strokes. I’m in tears because I want to give Miles a happy life.
Wishing peace and comfort for your beloved, senior Pyrenees. My cousin had one - they are beautiful, gentle giants. Good luck to you - hope you can apply to adopt Miles and have a successful adoption!
I just had to say goodbye to my baby girl Miss Isabella (Bella) Christine, a mix of Great Pyrenees, St Bernard & English Setter, in March 💔😭‼️💔😭‼️💔😭‼️ I’d give my right hand… And I’m right handed… to be able to have this AMAZING boy & give him the life he deserves!!!!!
Pyrenees that have been properly socialized as pups are extremely sweet dogs, I'm not surprised he didn't try to bite, I am however surprised that he wasn't barking his head off.
I recently adopted a Great Pyr from Texas. He's 2 and has been a stray his entire life. He was shaking just like this when I first met him. Two weeks in and he's cuddling cats and waking me up with kisses. They're a special breed for sure.
It’s true everything is staged on TH-cam these days. However regardless if this is staged or not, the reality is that type of dog breed is almost always patient and easy going with humans regardless of the event. So I’m saying this could be real, also he’s seen their faces multiple times and knows they aren’t out to hurt him. It’s mostly the breed tho, if this had been a pit bull or some other breed they would have given a warning bite for sure
Doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. Even while scared of being caught, he didn't display any sign of aggression. He was definitely a dog that would predictably do very well once caught and adopted. I bet that now he is an incredibly loving part of the family. So glad that he gets a new life! Good luck to you and your new family Good Boy!
Bless you for saving this handsome boy!!! I have a Rottweiler/Pyrenees puppy and he looks exactly like my pup's father. I also rescued a 4yr old Belgian Malinois in almost the same fashion as you saved this Pyrenees. Now her and my puppy are the absolute best of friends and a true blessing from God. I'm sure this guy's new owners are just ecstatic to have him. Pyrenees are amazing dogs. Loving, gentle, and great with kids. But God help anyone who tries to break into that house. Lol. My pup's father is 10 and still chases bears and mountain lions off his 30 acres in the woods every single night.
Animals are supposed to be in the wild. Domestication is not normal. It’s not lowly, it’s literally natural. The lowly part is what humans have done to breed free creatures for entertainment so they wind up unable to care for themselves. Freedom is peace

My guy Willie is a Pyrenees mix with a story similar to Miles - he was found locked in a closet in an abandoned house, and was scared of his own shadow when he came to me. Didn't bark, wasn't dog friendly, couldn't walk on leashes, was confused by toys. We celebrated our one year anniversary this week, and he's snoozing on the couch next to me after a long afternoon of playing tug-of-war with his friends at the dog park. It took so long for us to get here, and there were times I wondered if we'd ever make it. But I wouldn't trade one moment of the journey with him‚ and I bet Megan feels much the same.

I have a one yr old Great Pyrenees. Just couldn't imagine him getting attacked by other strays and looking for food. Such a great temperament, very affectionate breed. So glad he got a home.
Why do you guys talk about dogs like this? if they can't be tamed they're garbage? Why does it seem like you don't care about the strays at all? You can claim you do, but I've seen how breeders talk about "defective dogs". Not saying you're a breeder, just clearly the same philosophy.

They guard children against threats, often standing between children and scary situations. A child might have had an easy time with him. My Great Pyrenees here in the country had a most patient and loving soul.
Annelie Dahlstrand, yes, they are loving gentle giants. After Dad’s life wrongfully cut short, two waited, the girl inconsolable, for him to return, then it was only one. Want all of them with me.

Beautiful dog in body and spirit. I found this when reading about the Great Pyrenees that attacked 11 coyotes to protect sheep. These dogs look so gentle but are fierce fighters, which makes it more amazing that he didn't bite anyone. THANK YOU for rescuing Miles. My wife and I had a stray Pyrenees for many years. Wonderful, gentle dog. Didn't have a mean bone in her body. We kept her to guard some sheep. She couldn't care less about sheep, but was very protective of the pasture, and we never lost any sheep under her protection. She also liked to roam, and it took a lot of training for her to learn to stay home. She was also an escape artist, and could climb over a 5 foot gate to get in the chicken yard... which she could not escape from. Finally she settled down, and we could leave her outside the fence perimeter. Every morning and evening she would stroll around the property perimeter to make sure all was in order. She stayed outside in all kinds of weather, and stood her duty. She was also great with kids, and they would ride her around like a pony. She died in the kennel on an especially stormy night. I found her on the floor in the morning, and it looked like she was sleeping. I buried her in a shady spot where she used to lounge on hot days. She was the best...

As the owner of a male and female Great Pyrenees (6 years and 4 years respectively), I can tell you they are a complete handful and can be extremely stubborn when they're young. If you don't live on a farm, or are able to provide ample stimulation(walks, play, work), they become a destructive force of nature. That said, once they hit about 3 years of age, they become the sweetest and gentle beings anyone could ask for.
Very true. Though I could also say the exact same things about my cats. They were definitely destructive forces of nature until they hit 3 or so. Now I'm in bed with one curled up on my left, the other on the right as I type this, LOL

Yes, they kept predators like coyotes away. Your boy sounds like he was so precious. I have two of them. They're so sweet and loving.
My Pyre hates coyotes too.
Great Pyrenees, if allowed, will inherently patrol in a 3 mile, circular radius. That's why they're used to guard and protect herds of sheep.
@@Lonsoleil that characteristic is inherent in their breed.
It's crazy that he is not even biting while he's so afraid
@DeMarcus Tally ouuu I didn't think about that! Good point, could be. People staging a lot of stuff nowadays, it's so sad
Pyrenees that have been properly socialized as pups are extremely sweet dogs, I'm not surprised he didn't try to bite, I am however surprised that he wasn't barking his head off.
@DeMarcus Tally crazy! That is their primary action when working as livestock guardians. All of the ones we've had barked often and quite loudly.

Bingo is so funny to watch in this episode incredible job on the video
He’s a beautiful handsome boy, he’s probably had a bad experience in the past and didn’t trust anyone, but with loving kind caring patient people he’s responded to love and affection at last. Thank you 💖🐶💖
Big ol dog...Glad he's getting the care he needed...
Meg I dont know you but I want say: I LOVE YOU!
Thank you so much for being this wonderful human being full of love & compassion!
May you and people like you with golden hearts be blessed blessed and blessed!!!
Bless you for helping this GP. They are such good dogs. He seems so happy now.
It's sweet that they don't just forcefully grap and capture him they first try to win his trust and love. That is respectful and kind of you guys. Wish you and your future endeavours all the best!! Woof!
could have backfired. I couldnt believe she was introducing hinm to the leash, just throw it around his neck. The dog is traumatised by his situation anyway, he isnt ever going to like this lead or getting trapped. in anyway. He didnt give off any aggression, she was safe to just get that leash on first tome
mannat rattan,

@@blackandgold676 hey you gotta watch out for those dang little puppies, its all a disguise didnt ya know lol.......When I first saw him I started crying, when I was a child we had a Pyrenee that could have been a twin for this one. Mine was also a stray, he was a big oaf, might kill you with kisses. I had him from the age of about 5 to about 11. I was heartbroken when he passed away. I have had probably 15 dogs (I am 62 now) but I think he still makes me feel the most loved by any of them and they were all great dogs (except 1, to much abuse in past, you couldnt turn your back on him). all but 4 of my dogs were street rescues or strays and the other 4 were given to me by friends who could no longer keep them....Thanks so much for bringing me back to one of the happiest times of my life and reliving memories of one of my bestest friends including the human type I have ever had. Keep up the great work.
I just said bye to my Great Pyrenees after rescuing him 6 years ago. He was my best friend and the most caring and loving dog I’ve ever seen. I will never forget all the memories we had together
Respect 100 ✊
Awwww.... hugs.
In France, those dogs are known to protect sheeps from wolves. They're powerful, strong but not agressive. They are known to be independent too. I love Patous (the other name for Pyrenean Mountain Dogs). Wish him to find a place to stay and be loved for the rest of his life ❤️
What a beautiful, gentle soul - Miles the dog and Megan the lady. 🧚🏻♂️ Such a wonderful commitment to helping this lovely dog! Thanks Danny and Courtney, too. I wish Miles a beautiful life 😘🐶💕
Hello, how are you doing? hope you’re having a wonderful day!
Doggo looked really sad leaving the area...bet his owner died there and he didn't want to leave
Seymour from Futurama
Or he has just a trauma by leaving.
EXACTLY
Exactly my thoughts. Even the videos of his foster home, he seemed so sad. I believe a part of him loved the freedom he had
Could well be
I wish more people felt this sense of duty when they see a stray lonely animal. The world needs people like this
You have a beautiful profile pic
I always take in strays, oddly dont feel it for people though
It seemed to me that he was reasonably happy as a stray but perhaps that's just my misperception.
Most adults don't have 6-7 hrs to just hunt down random stray dogs lmao.
And people too
Man, Lady... keep up the great work. That's freakin heartwarming to see a sad, lonely, and uncared for dog put into the loving home he deserves. I wish more people were this kind to animals.
You are like angels and sooo needed in this world .God bless.
Everyone says “we need more people like him” but never ever says “we need to be like him”
exactly
FUCKING PHILOSOPHER
We dont neef to be like him but other people do
Why do we need to be like him thats dumb but we need more people like him

This made me cry and I'm not the biggest animal person. So glad she didn't give up. He's going to have a great life now.
SHE believes SHE's gonna give that dog a better life. May be that dog prefered have an empty stomach but being free, instead of being fed and pet in a comfortable home.
There is only one time, when I've seen an human give the animal a choice. It was on this channel, with a feral cat trapped in a car. The owner let the door open to let the cat decide.
@@oceaneo4603 i dont understand why you felt the need to comment this

@@thetimetellingbutterfly4445 because ignorant people aren’t the brightest
@@thetimetellingbutterfly4445 @ 00:15 "Miles was stray for an entire year". Yet that dog is still alive. And not once questions about his health was raised, nor send to vet the second he was captured.
And again, @ 00:22 "... I'm gonna save him." From what exactly ?
@ 00:27 "There are other stray dogs that would attack him" That dog is big and solid white. If he was injured by others dogs it would of show right away.
But again, with all those concerns about his well being, and her will to save him : no vet.
@ 00:45 "I can't imagine him trying to find shade, ... "
But in several occasions she encountered him lying there, she even filmed it @00:30 or @ 00:49 Dude this is so hilarious and I am not minute from that video. Ok let's keep going @1:32 @1:38 & @ 1:55.
1:11 "... "Oh, no, no, no." I don't know what your plan is with that but I'm not even going near you with that."
And that will be the 1st time we saw him stepping back from her. And she noticed it. She even commented on that. and also @1:23 "At that point, he started to run away from me."
@2:58, once again, he tried to escape. Seems to me that dog knows exactly what a lasso is meant for, and clearly, was having none of it, just like she stated.
But again @3:25 "Once he had the leash on, he was paralysed." Do I have to remind you that that dog was able to walk fine just a few seconds ago. A dog, in the streets for a year, was able to walk fine just a few second ago.
So Miles is a great Pyrenees. Great Pyrenees are sheep-guarding dogs (therefore an outdoor dog), known to have an indepedant spirit, known to be left alone.
Thank you Megan for rescuing this beautiful dog!
Pyrs are WONDERFUL, loving dogs-who the hell could just throw this handsome fellow out?
Absolutely true. My brother brought a puppy home one night that was abandoned behind the dumpster at his job. I took one look at its paws and told him this is gonna be a monster of a dog. He said she was the runt. To which I replied "I was the runt remember". And now I'm the tallest and muscular man in my family. But Bella has been a life saver for both me and my brother. Shes as sweet as they make dogs, but will defend her home without hesitation. Great piranease are amazing dogs. Mine is 4 years old and 118lbs. And she ain't fat! Lol.
Years ago, during my lunch pause, I used to take a walk in the little park close to my office building. Quite often I saw a man in a scooter walking his 2 dogs, a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Pyrenee. But them being always on the move, I didn't get a chance to meet them. Till that one day. He stopped, and we had a small talk, while his dogs were wagging their tails like crazy. Then I started to pet the Pyrenee. All of a sudden he jumped up on me, laying his paws on my shoulders in an attempt to lick my face! That was and still is the only time in my life that I stood face to face with a dog, looking him straight into his beautiful eyes! And I'm 6 ft tall... Needless to say that I'll never will forget those precious moments!
@baked dorito Sucks to be you, Donnie Downer.
Two Pyrennees attacked a bicyclist that got between them and the sheep they were guarding, but when not in a working mode at home, they're great family dogs.
@Sam Patanza - My Daisy’s favorite treat has always been hugs. Even now when she can barely cross the room, she’ll come to me if I sit on the floor. Of course I save her the effort when she asks. It is tough watching their decline in old age.
Such a beautiful dog 🐕 ....... We need more people like you in this world 🌎
I hope he has a home of his own now, he so deserves it. Somewhere he can finally settle for good with his own family.🐕💟. God bless all in animal rescue💕🐨

@@b4ngo540 no thanks. Humans don't deserve the peace or relief. We caused it all, so live in the consequences. These dogs didn't ask to be a stray after being bred to be domesticated.
@@ryab123456789 not all, also humans dont deserve this as much as animals.
He looked so sad 😭 but finally they caught him he is thankful
When that dog jumped up on his new owner at the end, I broke a bit. Wonderful happy ending for this gentle giant. You can never beat being "home."
Pyrenees are huggers, one of the few dogs that are. They don't jump up and try and lick you, they stand up on their hind legs and sniff your breath and if they're cuddly, they'll lay their head on your shoulder. Stretched out like that they can stick their nose in the face of a 6ft tall person, so if the person is only 5 and a half feet tall, they'll look you right in the eye. The whole time though, they will be very calm and mild mannered about it. It's just how they say hi to new people.
I had a Pyrenees just like him . I named him Big Boy & he was a big boy too . They are the most precious dogs I have ever known . I live on the family ranch with 600 acers & cows & horses & he loved them so much & is totally protective of them . I lost him to old age September 22 2020 . But I got a little girl Pyrenees about 2 2/2 years before I lost him & he had time to teach her things . Lord only knows how much I miss that Big Boy baby . Thanks for catching Miles & helping him .
I don't understand why people abandon dogs. He's such a cutie 😭
People are not kind
Same reason why people abandon they're kids
Great Pyrenees roam. And when I say roam I mean as far as hundreds of miles. It’s quite possible he wasn’t abandoned.
I have been reading how some people have been abandoning their dogs in distant locations from where they live because they cannot afford to take care of them during this pandemic.
fake dog/animal lovers. a lot of "dog lovers" just take advantage of a dogs unconditional love and then ditch them so easily

After 4 days of putting up flyers all over the place, we finally got her back. She got sick about six months later. Having met many people who have been through homelessness humanity really shows when you will give your last meal for your animal. I wonder how many people he's touched in his life in a spiritual way whilst on the streets. I once read "Everyone has a story "
