It's hard to believe that a new Mario party could end up being in contention for best Mario party, but they did it. this is exactly the kind of game we've been waiting for! good old fashion MP.
Haven’t played it yet but from what I’ve seen so far of it I agree, and it’s funny cause I remember when they announced it there was a lot of people saying they thought it was just going to be a re-skin of Super Mario Party. Glad to see it getting some love.
Yeah, I'm glad Nintendo finally realized that everyone has been begging for them to return to the classic formula as it just was the perfect formula for a party game.
Though, they did nerf Bowser Mini-Games it seems (I don't think he ever steals all coins or items) and you can no longer duel for Stars, so they did remove some of the more high-stakes moments that were prevalent in the classic games.
@@mattb6522 Not to mention the "Give 3 coins" option in Chance Time (though granted, the much more powerful options are still there), and the fact that you only get 2 bonus stars if it's below 30 or something turns... There's a lot of good things in this game, but they made it waay less intense than the previous ones
@@SamTheMarioMan Oh, you're right. Older Mario Party had harsher conditions and there was no "Give 3 Coin" option. It was more brutal! A lot of things were all-or-nothing and it just made the game even more exciting...or BS if you were the victim. 😅
Yeah, I miss having 3 Bonus Stars, too. I just wonder why they changed some of the little things.
I do miss some of the more chaotic stuff they used to have. They really toned things down in this one and I kind of wish they didn't. I agree with you as I also miss some of that intensity!
Classic bonus stars (sorta) are still a thing (you can set them in options) and I do believe give 3 coins was in some N64 mario party?
And I'm guessing that they kept duels coins only since you couldn't duel for stars till 5. But it still kinda blows that you can't.
The best part not included here; after the game, everyone else was stuck on results and Jon had to... Text? I think it was text Peebs (who was hosting) just so they could be free from Mario Party Hell.

Emile really is Jon's only Kryptonite. If there's luck involved, Emile births himself out of thin air to terrorize Jon.

Gotta say, when I saw this title I definitely expected that Peebs was gonna take many stars on one chance time and then subsequently lose them later to a separate one, but what actually happened is arguably funnier because of how hard they were trying for it lol

Y'know, having Jon and Emile join Austin and Jeff for a round of Mario Party would be a dream come true for most of us. Just imagine how chaotic it'd be having a Luigi main, the current bearer of the DK Curse, a man gifted with incredible luck (provided he's not playing as Daisy), and the man whose Mario Party victories stem from the fact he chose to WAH all in the same game.
I watched this stream on Jon's VOD channel, and was very excited to see what Toasty would do with it. Let's gooooo

I feel like Jeff has become such a go-to guy when it comes to Mario Party. Probably because everyone banks in the DK curse and people like the reassurance of playing against someone good enough to feel competitive but likely still won’t win.
Jeff is like the complete opposite scale of luck with chuggaaconroy and it's kind of hilarious they both use DK. It's like he's an avatar of luck that swings depending on who uses him.

I've been playing the new Mario Party a lot (Alone sadly, I has no friends) But I have to say it's like they distilled all that is Mario Party that I loved into one game and it's amazing. Nintendo... please... just release more boards as DLC and I would be happy.

To be fair, you can tone it so you get what you want for the first choice. It’s just that they sucked at timing it.

I had my complaints with this game, but after seeing this, I'm throwing most of my complaints off the window. The fact that strategies this insane can be done in what seems like older Mario party boards I think puts this game almost on par with Mario Party 3 for how disgustingly fantastic the plays can be.
At 42:13 peebs coulda landed on the event space and next turn steal 3 stars with a chance to land on chance time. I think that play would have been huge

For the palm rotating mini games, I've found that placing your palm on the left stick and rotating the controller reaches similar efficiency with no irritation. Pretty optimal if you ask me
