Oh my GOD. My speech therapist must've had one of these because I remember getting those weird ass candy burgers after each meeting. I am reeling. To think that she had to prepare these items (complete with little french fry carton) before every meeting on top of being a college student who must actually make me pronounce my R's and S's correctly is very impressive. I give her a five star review. Twenty one years after the fact.
Oh yeah! I should hope he marinated the parts in soap water before using it. I still wash regular cups or bottles I buy, not to mention something like this.

The patties I swear to god I remember them being better than however these things turned out but I cant begin to explain how we were even able to make these things. It was just generally fun times, even though the resulting product was likely just as "good" as you found out. I know this video is more than a year old, but this video was seriously appreciated.

I love how in order to make the fries you have to make everything about 5,000 times harder by having the little fry machine when you could really just put the powder on the bread and call it a day.
I had the burger maker back when I was a kid, but I honestly don't remember if I ever used it with actual food or not. I think I just used some playdough or something in it. It's like it's been 26 years since I last saw it or something :P
I remember having the drink fountain as a kid and actually putting beverages in it to drink while playing. even back then I was aware about what a great mess it was but still wanted the burger machine
If you ever want to make an artificial turd but don't want it to be too realistic looking but don't want to it to be a quick and simple (or experimental) process, then I highly suggest using this toy for it

I do not remember what they tasted like..... but since I only remember using it properly once, I would imagine not very great. The experience with the burger maker probably dissuaded my parents from buying the other 2 McDonald's "food" makers. I was like 6 or 7 years old and my sister like 4 or 5 at the time. It was probably a HUGE mess.
You could probably do this toy again in the modern era but provide actual powdered packets to make actual McDonald’s food and everyone would think it’s cool.
A friend of mine had the burger maker one when we were kids. She was very excited to show it off as she had just gotten at as a gift. we assembled/used it together…your struggle brings back memories of the absolute “fun” we had with that thing. Needless to say by the end, we where very disappointed and wanted nothing more to do with it after single “burger” was made. (We even struggled getting the grinder to work too, gave up and improvised.)
