To be honest, a cheaper hack is to use water and a bar of ivory soap, any stiff scrub brush from the dollar store, and any wet dry vac. Scrub, extract, rinse, extract, rinse, extract. It's worked for me for everything except permanent marker, and adding isopropyl alcohol helped with that.
@@geoffmooregm That's a pretty good idea. I'm not sure of the exact chemistry of Tide, but I'd be careful not to keep it on your skin too long because it might be a little harsh.
Due to supply chain issues, the 1oz volumizing attachment isn't available. So either purchase the 2oz volumizing attachment and only add 1oz, or purchase a 32oz bottle. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Just a word about the chemical DS5 It is an encapsulation cleaner… The reason this is important is because usually cleaning chemicals are not well rinsed out So it would be like shampooing your hair with no or inadequate rinse Clearly you would have shampoo left in your hair The same is most often true of carpet shampooing This shampoo dries greasy … and in the best case leaves a residue that cleans the soles of your shoes Leading to faster resoiling The encapsulation shampoo is different since it dries to a crystal This can be knocked off the fibers by a brush and vacuum And, in the worst case… does not clean your shoes
@@mariamaria2751 I am not familiar with the product. But if i hazard a guess…. I would say no. One of the main issues with hair is body oil. This can be absorbed by a dry product, On the other hand the soil problem with carpet is more similar to dirty clothes. You need some sort of liquid to dissolve and emulsify the soil
Some don’t leave any noticeable residue. But after three times using a encap product the carpeted surface should be extracted otherwise residue build up will 100% occur. Sometimes causes mats to harden like rock until steam extracted.
Just use The Dollar Tree's L.A Advantage (golden orange color) Concentrated Liquid Cleaner. Spray on stains full strength and scrub a few times with a small brush. Leave on a few minutes and blott off with paper towels. Spray on some water and use a microfiber cloth vigorously. Spray a bit more water and blot up with dry microfiber cloth. Then spray a diluted 1 part cleaner with 2 parts water over all the carpet and upholstery using the microfiber cloth. Blott and let air dry. Cheap, non toxic and works without any machine.
My preferred encapsulation cleaner is encapuclean green DS for double strength. It works very well you can clean commercial carpet with it. I’ve had my best results after thorough vacuuming then use that product. It almost reminiscent to dry foam cleaning. They use it a lot in hotels and casinos that never close because it’s pretty thorough and dries fast. 😊
Look I’m in love with and swear by a drill brush. However it’s not always necessary. I’m glad to see how you highlight the importance of subtle agitation and the difference it can make on small spots without using a drill brush. Sometimes the brush can be counterintuitive and more time consuming if used in unnecessary situations. Remember we value our time boys.
Release it is a great company. Honestly i prefer encap hydrox by them or encap punch for more power. Hydrox works perfectly on almost any stain on any car.
I used this method the other day and still have stains on my floors and seats. Maybe I should just live with the fact I got a running and driving gmc sonoma for $750 and it isn't going to be perfect 😂
I actually bought an extractor meant for car detailing because the bissell little green did NOT WORK on my car carpets or upholstery at all. The suction wasn't nearly strong enough
I've been detailing without a extractor for years. I don't even use my Bissell anymore. I pre-soak, drill brush and then use an extractor head on my 4.5 horsepower Ridgid vac and I have never had any wicking and get up 90% of stains easily. I will use my $100 Home Depot steamer if necessary, also followed by the Ridgid vac with extractor head
I just used tuff stuff a drill brush and a shop vac with the thin nozzle and my carpet looks worse because all I did was spread the stains. Do you think if I use hot water like a lot of people say that it’ll help?
I’ve bought a thick bristle brush and got warm soapy water and scrubbed a years worth of dirt up from my carpet days ago. I’ve got to fining for another round bc all I did was get the dirt loose, but the car already smells so much fainter. I’m so excited, thank God. It’s been a burden on me for a little bit.
Bissell green machine is a must for all homes. Best small area or upholstery cleaner EVER. You should definitely pay a pro to get a deep clean $60-$100 on your car once a year, cuts down on caked dirt on floors. A must of you live in a place that has mud season. IJS
Castrol Super Clean is the only cleaner I use for a deep clean for carpets. It’s actually a car engine degreaser liquid. The product changed its name to Purple Power now. Same product. And I use it to clean my aftermarket air filter.
Great tips in here and of course great cleaning. My question is why do cars have carpets in them still anyway ❓ love my industrial flooring with mats that remove.
I’ve got a question, when you and a customer agree to a job, what forms do you have them sign? Is there any kind of liability insurance you have to get? I do mold remediation but I’m finding that I have all the equipment and tools that I need for this as well
As long as the detergent is sufficiently strong and contains hydrogen peroxide and IPA, and its properly used with brushing….loads of issues on carpets would be solved without using extractors.
It cristalizes asnyou say because you're using too much detergent. Save yourself the extra labor by getting the correct ratio. Thats my tip. I learned the hard way.

You don’t need an extractor…..but you need a shop vacuum….🙄to vacuum the vacuum he wet/dry mess and not ruin a regular vacuum. Buy the shampooer folks. It works amazing and will save you time.
Yeah plus if you would like to add an extractor tip like the better extractor one it could be a cheaper alternative since you have vacuum and extractor
You’ll wanna look more into not using carpet cleaners. Main thing is soap attracts dirt. Unless you extract 100% of soap it’ll continue to attract dirt, soiling faster. The cause of those black marks on carpet is from soap
3 times the work? You still need to agitate or spray most stains and let them sit. This got done with like $120 worth of equipment and chemicals vs a heated extractor for $1000
