@Johnathan Stoker no joke I can't tell you the number of times on one of the Allied missions where you have to keep Tanya alive where the the Tesla Coil charging sound became the "well I just failed that one," sound.
Yeah, and it got me thinking if there was a self-powering weapon like that the part you'd have to start replacing would be some kind of fuse that absorbs transients between the generator and the output. In Evangelion an HID rifle is shown (mecha sized) and it's "round" is actually a fuse/bus that works by turning to plasma during the weapon's cycle in a Z-machine like fashion; the plasma then acts as the actual conductor, naturally this works once and is ejected like a rifle cartridge. It does imply large and routine variations between the generator's output and the weapon's intended or at least maximum output but that could very well be the nature of energy weapons, getting at the unstable Big Energy and weaponizing it at all would be the point of even making a real one rather than finding a way to reinvent the wheel so to speak.

Great job as usual! Could you perhaps do one on stealth technology somewhere down the line? Or ion technology (ion cannon style)/GDI's space related technology in general?
I think i have a better idea of how the hub assembles the turret in C&C3. ITs mentioned that not war factory uses nano assembly to put together vehicles in its underground sections and given that the turrets seems to use a underground section when you look at their pad section (similar to TW2 turrets) it might be that rather then "repairing" them a new one is simply put together and released up top
3:06 in tiberium sun you can shut off the laser fence and then turn it on just as something passes through it will instantly kill infantry and probably damage vehicles.... so yeah
I always loved how nod defences were always so futuristic/sleek/nice to look at. Obelisk of Light being the cherry on the top. Compared to them, GDI defences were always blocky and kinda ugly. PEACE THROUGH POWER
The Obelisk of light is a terrifying sight when playing Renegade X (which is a pretty great fan made game!) But as a foot infantry you know: You're a goner. Absolutely legendary!
I get to know about lasers even more. Always upgraded with that when playing as Nod. Will you also do railgun technology? Railguns are quite powerful. Then when doing the Red Alert universe, will you do various techs there like Tesla, Prism, Einstein's techs?
In the Obelisk of Light, I see the clear tubes as being the gases used to power the laser, as there are chemical pumped lasers, many of them using singlet oxygen as fuel. The gas from the Nod laser rifles during reloading would be related to the weapons being chemically powered. The weapon could have been cooling off.
they always on par with GDI thats for sure but superior its overstatement the fact that everytime nod loses to gdi in each tiberium war their technology also restarts look at kane's wrath they had to rebuild their army several times just to have a fighting chance against GDI they also have to steal technology from GDI just to be on par with them good example is the Reedemer countering the MARV also as we seen whenever GDI won the war their weapon advancement becomes stagnant being able for NOD to catch-up but reality is GDI is superior in every ways the fact that every war GDI won Also NOD tends to use tiberium weapon and alien weaponary which GDI is reluctant to use since GDI hated tiberium weapons which is the only real advantage they have as this weapon technology are dangerous especially tiberium weapon base as they are a threat to humanity
@@zeroone2731 They got Tiberium weapons cause their Tib research is far ahead of GDI since as you said GDI is reluctant to do research in that field. Same thing with Alien tech cause Nod had much more insight in the tacitus which GDI never managed to translate that well. Theyre also far ahead in AI research.
@@TheDude50447 well thats how most this games work one faction has a unique tech than the other you might say that NOD is superior because of alien tech and tiberium base weapon but GDI also surpasses them in orbital weapons, railgun technology, and GDI excels in creating experimental units (MARV and ARCUS heavy bomber ship) plus GDI formed a subfaction ZOOCOM to counter NOD's tiberium base weaponary if you really follow the story the tech level are the same and their development is like a seasaw one faction gains the upperhand while the other catches up NOD losing the war sets them back against GDI while GDI became stagnant after winning the war so NOD can catches up
@@zeroone2731 The units are on par for game balancing reasons. But forgetting about the god awful Tib Twilight game Nod has the objectively superior technology. Railguns and Sonics are comparetively simple technologies compared to Lasers and Plasma guns like on the Banshee. In other fields like stealth and AI they got huge advantages as well. By Tib wars they got superior walker tech as well.
@@TheDude50447 you can also look at how each tech counters/equalize one faction railgun = laser stealth + sneak and run tactics vs Heavy units + orbital deployment AI and cyborg is also a direct counter versus GDI's superior armor battalion since most of NOD's troops are militia which are inferior to GDI's heavy zone troopers alien tech and tiberium weapons even the odds against GDI's nuclear arsenal and orbital weapons since NOD's nuclear arsenal is pitiful and have steal GDI's nukes
Honestly, the reload sound for the tarantula sounds like pulling an energy cell, the venting sound is heat from the internals before the fresh cell is inserted.
Speaking of the Forgotten, there is a mod about the Forgotten and the faction mod is very interesting. Can you do a video about the faction and also a overview of there military tactics, technology and arsenal?
Laser turrets in C&C 3 might have underground manufacturing plant built in, that requires central hub to provide energy and materials to rebuild lost turrets. They can recycle remains of old turret and place new ones through whatever system was used previously to hide turrets. Obelisk-specific and overall maintenance details are probably omitted since they are not that interesting, or buildings and equipment tend to be lost in combat before something important breaks down from use.
Next, I suppose, GDI's Railgun Weapons, which I believe is the most devastating weapon in the game (at least on 3), almost nothing can stop a mammoth charge, I suppose only twice the number of obelisks or several upgraded ones.
@@sethb3090 One shockwave blast and it's over for the venoms, hey, no single unit is unbeatable on the game, I just said that the Mammoth is most survivable one, the only real counter to it with few drawbacks are the ones I listed above.
I am so sorry for the comment im about to make. Your voice heavily reminds me of Frederick Knudson, from Down the Rabbit Hole. I love your content, by the way.
10:31 That's exactly it... The control hub sends out tiny robots to rebuild destroyed Shredder, Laser, or SAM turrets... In short... Nanomachines, son...
Nanomachines are already Tiberium canon; the whole backstory behind conyards is that studying Tiberium allowed GDI and Nod to develop self-assembly technology to "grow" buildings and vehicles.
Funny thing is in real world (yes, I know this is a sci-fi RTS but the concept of laser weaponry is still real world), it would require a massive reactor of some design to power it for a single shot. Most power efficient would be a MASER-based system if an Obelisk were to be real.
I assumed the defence hubs in Tiberium wars were like bunkers with underground components. This is how they could repair the turrets from underground and send them to the surface (almost like GLA holes).
I do wonder.... Is the Laser-tech derived from the Sovjets Tesla-tech, or the Allieds Prism-tech? I would hazard a guess that Nod stole some Prism-tech schematics and worked them over heavily.
I was originally planning to include them in the video but after doing some research about particle beams and lasers I realized they are not exactly the same thing. So I plan on doing a separate video talking about those weapons.

Excellent video. I would ask you to please add Spanish subtitles for the Spanish and Latin community who are fans of the c & c world.

Great job as usual! Could you perhaps do one on stealth technology somewhere down the line? Or ion technology (ion cannon style)/GDI's space related technology in general?
Oh yeah, I plan on doing videos covering the other various technologies and vehicles.
@@Jethild Sounds great. Looking forward to em already!
cool! it has a WOTW feel with a long or short beam of fire...pretty epic!
These video remembered me something. Whaaat a hell was the Cyborg Commando's lazer had? ¡¡That thing was brutal!!
If the manual for Firestorm was accurate (and sadly I no longer own mine), the Cyborg Commando had a plasma weapon.
@@jimtaylor294 Correct. The Cyborg Commando would launch a ball of plasma.
The laser weapons in Renegade X have unlimited ammo and show the reloading process
the rifle idea about the focusing crystal could be correct, but the obelisk could be a extreme duty variant or a different composition all together.
Excellent video, I just subscribed a few days ago.
3:06 in tiberium sun you can shut off the laser fence and then turn it on just as something passes through it will instantly kill infantry and probably damage vehicles.... so yeah
U cant turn of laser fence
But firestorm complex
@@grimmshredsanguinus2915 use the power down option

@@sheilaolfieway1885 oh u mean this way
@@grimmshredsanguinus2915 yeah you can like blow up nod buggies with it I think.
Epic best base defence ever
I always loved how nod defences were always so futuristic/sleek/nice to look at. Obelisk of Light being the cherry on the top. Compared to them, GDI defences were always blocky and kinda ugly.
PEACE THROUGH POWER
a combination from obelisks and venoms with the laser upgrade is a very good base defense.
MORE. I NEED MORE.
The Beam canon was my favorite NOD unit, so many cool gimmicks in one
yeah, it wasn't the best on the battlefield, but if you stealthed four or five you could make refineries mysteriously vanish
The Obelisk of light is a terrifying sight when playing Renegade X (which is a pretty great fan made game!) But as a foot infantry you know:
You're a goner.
Absolutely legendary!
If Nod invested in naval units, it would be... Sharks with Laser
It could be the next movie in the Sharknado franchise - "Sharknado 7: Sharks with Lasers"
Stealth technology they is pretty cool
As long as he stays far far away from 4... All will be good!
I can easily sneak in between those energy pyron or whatever it call
16:48 - What?! I didn't know that!
this content is so well it made it into my BELL > ALL.
just saying.
What is BELL>ALL?
I get to know about lasers even more. Always upgraded with that when playing as Nod.
Will you also do railgun technology? Railguns are quite powerful. Then when doing the Red Alert universe, will you do various techs there like Tesla, Prism, Einstein's techs?
Yes to all.
I always considered Nod to be technologically superior. They built that Alien ship in Tib Sun. They got invisible units and those Lasers of course.
they always on par with GDI thats for sure but superior its overstatement the fact that everytime nod loses to gdi in each tiberium war their technology also restarts look at kane's wrath they had to rebuild their army several times just to have a fighting chance against GDI they also have to steal technology from GDI just to be on par with them good example is the Reedemer countering the MARV also as we seen whenever GDI won the war their weapon advancement becomes stagnant being able for NOD to catch-up but reality is GDI is superior in every ways the fact that every war GDI won
Also NOD tends to use tiberium weapon and alien weaponary which GDI is reluctant to use since GDI hated tiberium weapons which is the only real advantage they have as this weapon technology are dangerous especially tiberium weapon base as they are a threat to humanity
@@TheDude50447 well thats how most this games work one faction has a unique tech than the other you might say that NOD is superior because of alien tech and tiberium base weapon but GDI also surpasses them in orbital weapons, railgun technology, and GDI excels in creating experimental units (MARV and ARCUS heavy bomber ship) plus GDI formed a subfaction ZOOCOM to counter NOD's tiberium base weaponary
if you really follow the story the tech level are the same and their development is like a seasaw one faction gains the upperhand while the other catches up NOD losing the war sets them back against GDI while GDI became stagnant after winning the war so NOD can catches up
@@zeroone2731 The units are on par for game balancing reasons.
@@TheDude50447 you can also look at how each tech counters/equalize one faction
railgun = laser
stealth + sneak and run tactics vs Heavy units + orbital deployment
AI and cyborg is also a direct counter versus GDI's superior armor battalion since most of NOD's troops are militia which are inferior to GDI's heavy zone troopers
alien tech and tiberium weapons even the odds against GDI's nuclear arsenal and orbital weapons since NOD's nuclear arsenal is pitiful and have steal GDI's nukes
Honestly, the reload sound for the tarantula sounds like pulling an energy cell, the venting sound is heat from the internals before the fresh cell is inserted.
This info is good... I can send it to GDI HQ so we can counter their tech. I must find more info to send back to HQ...
Enough Venoms can beat anything
@@sethb3090 One shockwave blast and it's over for the venoms, hey, no single unit is unbeatable on the game, I just said that the Mammoth is most survivable one, the only real counter to it with few drawbacks are the ones I listed above.
I am so sorry for the comment im about to make. Your voice heavily reminds me of Frederick Knudson, from Down the Rabbit Hole.
I love your content, by the way.
You have no idea how awesome the first C&C game was... it was like leaping to another existence..
10:31 That's exactly it... The control hub sends out tiny robots to rebuild destroyed Shredder, Laser, or SAM turrets...
In short... Nanomachines, son...
Nanomachines are already Tiberium canon; the whole backstory behind conyards is that studying Tiberium allowed GDI and Nod to develop self-assembly technology to "grow" buildings and vehicles.
wow your channel is exploding right now :) congrats.
you are the perfect example that quality content works :)
Check out renegade x for the high detail models of the weapons, vehicles and structures
Will do.
Funny thing is in real world (yes, I know this is a sci-fi RTS but the concept of laser weaponry is still real world), it would require a massive reactor of some design to power it for a single shot. Most power efficient would be a MASER-based system if an Obelisk were to be real.
C&C canon says Nod has advanced Tiberium power sources, which is why it can run vehicular/infantry laser weapons.
Should have included the particle beams for Confessors and Enlightened
I was originally planning to include them in the video but after doing some research about particle beams and lasers I realized they are not exactly the same thing. So I plan on doing a separate video talking about those weapons.
@@Jethild Aren't particle beams relatively similar to ion weapon of GDI?
@@joshg8053 Yes you are correct they are. Which is why I plan on talking about both particle beam and ion weapons together in a separate video.
