    A couple of corrections to the video based on feedback from the comments.
    1) The Avatar Warmech from C&C 3 can acquire a personal stealth generator from a Stealth tank. I will include this feature of the Avatar in a future video about mechanical walkers.
    2) I forgot to mention the Allied Phase Tank from Red Alert 1. It may have actually been the first stealth tank; since RA 1 is tied to the Tiberium timeline. So it is possible that the technology used for the Nod Stealth Tank may be based off that of the Phase Tank. I'll be sure to mention the Phase Tank in future videos dealing with lore in the RA timeline/universe.

    • @Jethild
      @Jethild  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@noahezer9295 No one can say with a 100% certainty which campaign from RA 1 leads to the Tiberium timeline. Former Westwood developers in the past have said the Allied campaigns were always assumed to be canon. Then EA took over the franchise after shutting down Westwood and has never made any real mention on that specific issue. This means that, for myself, I default back to what the original WW developers said, that the Allied campaign is the canon one that leads to the Tiberium timeline. It's fine if you disagree, but that's my stance on the issue.

    The cloaking generator could distinguish between units with something like an rfid chip. Only certain codes or frequencies would be allowed. Thus only allied forces would gain the effect. It could thus produce multiple mini domes over authorized areas rather than one large dome of effect.

    • @Lordbobomb
      @Lordbobomb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Makes a lot sense given the universe is already capable of producing Laser Tech, Automated Turrets, and the Stealth Tech discussed in the video.
      It's not that far of a stretch if at all to think RFID would exist and for such purposes.
      In one of the Tiberian Dawn cutscenes where the Obelisk of Light is introduced we can see such a system of some similarity being used.

    • @chavzone
      @chavzone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yeah exactly. Without some form of IFF, it wouldn't even be able to distinguish units from rocks or trees.

    • @Kareszkoma
      @Kareszkoma 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think it's a dome, because otherwise it would be a "stealth array". It seems there is one central part of the building, that generates the effect, and the rest are supporting it. Meaning only 1 antenna, 1 dome. However, in cnc3, we can see smaller tower. Which are smaller version of the big dome. If all those would be connected, like how the turrets are, they were to be an array.
      It would be nice, if in cnc5, we could get a stealth array. Basically, 1 big source, and other close by amplificators that strengthen the effect, in smaller domes. This would mean, that small skirmishes are less likely to damage the whole, but bigger skirmishes and strikes would be more rewarding. It would make sense in lore too.
      As in lore, instead of having a giant building, you could just be putting the amplificators to every building, like an upgrade, to hide them. This way NOD forces could be in a city, but also hidden. This would eliminate the failures of the second tiberium war, and would combine the successes the third war, into a more developed, more standard setup, taking the best of both worlds.

    It's interesting how the Black Hand was integral to testing and deploying NOD's earliest stealth tech, but later eschewed stealth technology all together during and after TW2, particularly under Marcion as NOD's stealth technology proliferated again to other unit types. Quite a doctrinal shift once their role and existence came out into the open eyes of the public.

      Tell me about it, from sneaky commando troops who assassinated their leader for exposing their existence to the general public to becoming an organization resembling a combination of the Imperial Commissariat, Ecclesiarchy, and shock troops from Warhammer 40k in a period of like 2 years from the assassination of Anton Slavik to the activation of LEGION.

    • @TheNapster153
      @TheNapster153 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Black Hand was compromised thanks to Marcion. There are Intelligence Datas in C&C3 suggesting that Marcion was put into power much like General Hassan was.
      In addition to what you said, the Black Hand was supposed to be a high echelon sub-organisation that was not meant to be made public even to those within Nod. This was admittedly Slavik's fault when he made an open declaration he was a Black Hand.

    In reference to the Stealth Generator in the Second Tiberium War, its possible that it would use IR sensors in order to distinguish between allied and enemy force. Similar to the U.S. Militaries uniforms, there are little IR sensors on the uniforms so that other allied forces can tell that they U.S. forces.

      Well I think that was only the Army and I think it was detached and only used for specific deployments.
      Trick with any military is a discrete, fast and accurate IFF. You got 2 parties, challenge (person aiming) and challenged (person being aimed at). Also methods you got Active and you got Passive. Getting the accuracy wrong means the challenged will fall victim to fratercide. Being too slow will result in the challenger coming under attack. Passive is more discrete but harder to see and can delay ID. Active is quick but also more exposed.
      Everything has a trade off.

      @@Marinealver I'm pretty sure anyone responding incorrectly should not be fired upon if they're willing to give up their position by responding to a challenge. Fratricide is quite embarrassing for the guard or guards in question after all, not to mention higher especially if the poor sods are from an allied force. If they pass a simple common sense check I would give an order for the challenged party to adopt a position of surrender and radio the situation to the Sergeant of the Guard in most circumstances if they do not take hostile action or attempt to flee. God forbid you wax a friendly element from a different unit just because they're lost or some shit and don't know your unit's challenge and response words.

    The Cloaking Field support power could be nanite based technology:
    Nanites will swarm onto objects and cover the entire surface with a cloaking coat. Any living organism would die of asphyxia because mouth and nose would be sealed.

    • @Blutwind
      @Blutwind 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Good thinking. My opinion is that it is some kindof high energy field that induces a stealth "charge" on the target with vehocles beeing fine as they are a faraday cage but normal infantry litarly getting cooked by the high energy input

    • @stormshadow7116
      @stormshadow7116 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Blutwind That's still kind of in line with the stealth generator producing an (energy) field. I suspect that you are correct that it is a high energy field, but its not so much the power yield of the field so much as it's sudden and spontaneous eruption that is changing the properties of those within it.
      That much energy that warps material to bend light could create a synaptic shock to infantry units that are directly exposed to it. A stealth generator on the other hand has a continuous field that does not warp the material of those inside it so much as simply shielding them.

    • @louievelayo4100
      @louievelayo4100 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A reason for the stealth support power killing infantry, a huge amount of radiation is sent to that area, this kind of radiation makes certain composites ( like tank armor) to bend light, but the radiation is so strong that it affects living tissue in a degrading pattern, like a paint sprayed in the armor, but it's lethal to tissue.

    If we go by the theorized timeline of the Tiberium timeline taking place during the Soviet victory in Red Alert 1 then it could be argued that Kane was able to salvage some of the tech following it’s destruction. Perhaps intentionally sabotaging the tech from being recovered by Stalin so it could be snuck away. But again, this is some wild speculation that may not be true at all.

    • @colmcorcoran9295
      @colmcorcoran9295 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually this is my theory too. The Chronosphere was based on the Philadelphia Experiment which was originally supposed to be an attempt to make a ship radar stealth but ended up accidentally transporting it. In Red Alert:The Aftermath the Allies develop the Phase Tank, which is effectively a stealth tank, in another mission the Soviets Steal it. Lastly, what do those spheres in the track sections of the TD stealth tank remind you of? My guess is that originally WW intended stealth technology as some sort of phasing an object out of reality, which probably also better explains how the TS stealth generator works (also notice how the stealth generator has a sphere)

    • @colmcorcoran9295
      @colmcorcoran9295 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also, in line with the phase theory on stealth, Westwood probably used that as inspiration for the weapons of the chrono trooper in ra2

    You could probably add that the stealth field of C&C Renegade stealth soldier could be extended to another person, in that cutscene where Dr. Petrova revealed she's working with Nod and a stealth soldier carried Sydney away, cloaking her body as well. The mutated Petrova could also cloak herself, even when not wearing the stealth suit.
    GDI vehicle design in C&C 3 was said to have stealth design in the sense of being undetected by radar, this was from the C&C 3 design manual.

      So it is true! I've also heard about GDI using stealth on their vehicles. Not nearly as good as the stealth Nod used, but definitely better than the stuff we use today in the sense that it can make it more difficult for radar and weapons to lock on or detect the vehicle if they can detect it at all.

    Looking at all the new stealth units in TW and KW and especially the permanent cloaking field support power I think that a good lore reason for the disruption tower not being able to cloak itself is the much cheaper production of the building. The third war was planned and started by nod so a wide scale production of full stealth generators might have not been feasible. The disruption tower offered an option to provide stealth options for most combat operations. A good indicator is also its much smaller size compared to the old stealth generator making me think that there must've been significant technological progress.
