Some tips for surviving a bot wave during a long extract 1. Smoke is very helpful. Either Eagle or Orbital smoke. The bots will continue to shoot at your last known location. 2. Dual mortar + ems mortar sentry is very good at holding a point. You can also hide them behind a wall to be safe from bot fire. Sentries also do not trigger scout flares if they don't see you and only the sentry. 3. If you get the stratagems scrambler, just keep chucking out stratagems because once there is only 1 or 2 left available for you, it lowers the randomness 4. You can actually prone and hide in bush if there is something nearby. Bots are actually very blind when you are crouched or prone 5. You can have a part of the team draw most of the bots away while someone hides near extraction point, remember to crouch or prone. Bots are very sensitive to explosions or gunfire, so even a sentry firing somewhere else will draw them away. 6. If all else fails, you can hide until the timer runs out and then only run in once Pelican arrives (like what you guys did) 7. Some people intentionally trigger the Traitor barrage by going out of bounds for 10seconds. This will give you a non-stop barrage that may take out the bot swarm 😂 Amazing extract btw haha
Thanks man! We learned a lot over the last week, this was from last weekend when we were all a bit new to the game. I went straight for the highest difficulty from the start, trying to complete all the sets needed to unlock the next difficulty level.
@@Morphologis haha yeah, the craziness of near max difficulty is amazing. I find the best place to play around is difficulty 5. Then you and your team can find your preferred way of destroying heavy armor, buildings, dealing with mobs. After that comes any fun stuff like smoke, ems, shield emplacement generators 😄
Just a side note about the stratagem scrambler: you can "reroll" just by opening the menu and typing the stratagem code again. So throwing them out does reduce the possibility of getting the next one mixed up, but unless you actually need to use it, I wouldn't suggest it. Instead, I just keep retyping the easiest/fastest code available until I get what I need, then throw
@@lilneoman1 yeah, that's the ideal scenario, I'd also want to retry instead. In a hectic scenario where I really don't have the time to play a mini-gacha game, I've found better chances in just throwing everything out instead of retrying the 5th or 6th time as several bots push my way. My common stratagem loadout anyway is orbital laser, airstrike, support weapon, and a sentry. So regardless of what random stratagem I get, there is no issue chucking the airstrike or laser somewhere hostile, the sentry behind me, or even the support weapon on top of a bot for a lucky shot 😄
I’m level 45, the key to both enemies on helldive is to not let them call reinforcements, or better yet, don’t let them notice you in the first place. Use light armor with the scout passive to decrease your detection radius and ping the map to see where enemies are. You can do a lot of objectives by crouch-walking or crawling between large groups of enemies without them noticing you. I also have a patented strategy called the 180-laser: if you need to assault a base but can’t afford for them to call reinforcements, you throw an orbit laser into the center and immediately run wide all the way around to the back. They won’t detect that you’re there and you’ll be able to kill anything that survived the laser without them calling reinforcements.
to be fair, that strat does kinda sound boring compared to the usual run-and-gun high octane gameplay people are used to at lower levels. I think it's cool that higher difficulties require thinking outside the box strats and that stealth is actually viable, but if I'd have to choose between running lower level difficulties where the moment -to-moment gameplay is bombastic and cinematic or crawling/crouch walking to bases just to throw orbital strategems for 40-ish minutes, I'd probably choose the former. Or just stick with Helldive difficulty for the bugs. I think the lack of consistent ranged damage makes that helldive feel like a cakewalk compared to trying it on creek.@@SamA-xq1bm
Last night, i also just completed my first mission operation on Helldiver difficulty at Malevelon Creek (I am a changed man)! Some tips for everyone: STEALTH IS KING. You can get much closer than you'd think as long as you're crouched or prone. If you're stealthy but going loud, hit the units that can call for reinforcements first, generally the grunts that just look like humanoids rather than hulks and such. DO NOT BE SEE AT AN OBJECTIVE or you will be fighting many hulks at all times. If someone is seen, have them run off while the others sneak in and complete the obj. We did this to evac 30 civs silently after leading all patrols away from the area Spill oil!
Hey Morph, I love your SC Vids, and I love that you are enjoying Helldivers 2! Just one tip: It's better to rebind the stratagems to the arrow keys so you can call them while moving. Especially for the later difficulties this is a must, IMO.
Congrats! That difficulty pulls zero punches, but there's a way to mitigate some of the challenge if you have patience and discipline. The team I normally run with discovered that stealth (crouching and prone) with light scout armor is a must in Helldive mode (we avoid blitz and civilian defense missions in that mode). It's still not easy if you attack an outpost and they get a flare up for a dropship. What we do is a staggered line formation. Our point-man scans for threats in front as he leads, and the guys behind check left, right, and back. if the coast is clear on all sides, we run, but most of the time we crouch walk or crawl. We avoid patrols and never shoot unless we're discovered or for objective. Going prone lets you crawl right next to enemies (literally inches) if their backs are to you (you can really play this game infiltrating bases like you're Solid Snake, no joke). Yeah, we sometimes mess up and have to deal with lots of insane hell, but if we thin out the bot numbers and run away, we can usually get back into stealth and resume the mission (we only do secondary objectives if they're along our pre-planned route or if they are jammers). This has helped our grind to max rank tremendously. BONUS TIP: From Suicide Mission up to Helldive, always be on the lookout for "dick rock". Not kidding, look for a phallic looking rock each run. That's where the Super Samples are that you'll need for the tier-3 ship upgrades. Happy hunting!

Against the bots I haven't figured out how to consistently stop them from calling in reinforcements; they're a lot more spread out and farther away, so I can't get a read on the situation as quickly; I know how to take them out pretty quickly, but I swear anything with a weakpoint on the back decides to focus me anytime I try to circle behind it; I can't dodge attacks and stay alive nearly as well; the spawn buildings are a lot harder to destroy quickly; and I haven't really figured out a stratagem set I really like for them yet. I probably just need to play lower level bot missions and work my way up. I got my first helldive missions done on bots, and the last one got a little spicy at the end, but it wasn't too bad for the most part and we had full extracts with the super samples in all but the last one.

Stop, Drop, And Roll!! This works for fire in the game too. Imagine that. I mean, you guys were screwed anyway. Haha. But, it might help in the future.
I think one of the mistakes you made was not destroying that base that qas relatively close to extraction. The bots actually communicate quite well with one another and will send out additional units to your position once found if the fighting continues. That on top of the continuous spawns from bot drops was making the tide of enemies even heavier than it could've been.
If CiG added a game mode similar to this on AC, it would blow the lid off of our beloved as a whole. It looks amazing. I can't help but think about the A2 and A1 bomb run call in's with the Valkyrie or Prowler as our extraction ships. Sorry about the random interjection lol.. Change your control settings. Keep WASD for movement, and put the arrow keys for calling in strategems. By default, they are both set to same, but when you make this change, you can run and move while calling strategems. That make surviving easier.
The enemy should lowkey be able to destroy the extraction ship (with enough damage), that way you could cement the dispair and ruin of a situation such as these.

And the reviews will get better once the issues are fixed too. Just because the game is a ton of fun doesn't mean the people who can't play are invalid, and reviews should reflect the current state of the game.
I like how you input em drops out of cover. Very consistent
o7 You do Super Earth proud.
Institute the draft so that the ODST Legions of the Xbox sector can drop in and spill some oil! We're waiting!
That was absolutely insane man good gameplay 😂
Looks awesome!
helldive is like swimming in a lake of lasers
I'd love to see a 'realistic injuries' mod for this game, as this sort of stuff is totally insane.
These were the days…
It still is. You must be a ragequitter
I was looking for lv 9 bot mission to see what mayhem is in there. After all those "solo no death run" nonsenses I wasn't even interested enough to click, THIS ONE is exactly what I was looking for. FOR DEMOCRACY.
My guy ran in front of like every rock instead of behind lol.
Two tips:
1. Rebind call in keys to be able to call in strategems on the move
2. Throw all grenades before dying
Way to snatch the evac!
Morph dying with four grenades really made me sad :( Helldiver difficulty is really wild.
Lmao you have Wallace from Wallace and Gromit on your team? Glorious battle!
9 difficulty gets easy with experience and know how.
Lets see when the 10th difficulty gets unlocked.
Stop, Drop, And Roll!! This works for fire in the game too. Imagine that. I mean, you guys were screwed anyway. Haha. But, it might help in the future.
Recently upgraded to an Ultrawide, and the difference is night and day with Helldivers.
This could've been star ship troopers for years😮💨🙂
insane difficulty = reality
The super destroyer should have a bar. Most Hdivers that came back from automatons missions can use a drink or 10
Fighting automatons is basically men of iron revolt
It’s sounds so funny when he’s in fire and it’s sped up
I think one of the mistakes you made was not destroying that base that qas relatively close to extraction. The bots actually communicate quite well with one another and will send out additional units to your position once found if the fighting continues.
That on top of the continuous spawns from bot drops was making the tide of enemies even heavier than it could've been.
What happens at The Creek stays at The Creek
Looks like you'll need mechs to liberate the creek :)
Can’t wait
This game looks amazing and fun!!
Couldn't help but think about the possibilities!! 😅
Helldiver but you're the average helldiver for enemy to show off
Definitely needed to dive when catching fire.
Me: about to extract
Hulk: I’m about to break the laws of physics
Hulk: makes the fire go through the wall and kill me(I was on my last life)
Me: I love this game
This reminded me of star wars battlefront, all the crazy lasers
Long Life The Talibots!
Glory to Cyber stan !!! 🤖🤖🤖
this IS BRUTAL
bro stands in the wide open and wonders why he gets beamed by 20 rockets 💀💀💀
Change your control settings.
Keep WASD for movement, and put the arrow keys for calling in strategems.
By default, they are both set to same, but when you make this change, you can run and move while calling strategems. That make surviving easier.
Intense. Love it
EMS Mortar, Smoke Grenades, and more defensive Strats. Work awesome! And turn off your flashlight if you are needing to be sneaky
The enemy should lowkey be able to destroy the extraction ship (with enough damage), that way you could cement the dispair and ruin of a situation such as these.
Oh no, it definitely can be destroyed. It just takes a lot of hits before it blows up.
Tip: on PC, rebind your stratagem directionals to your arrow keys so you can run while calling. Unless you have a 60%, then good luck
Feel jealous he completed hell dive before factory striders!😂
Looks great especially on level 9! Butter smooth even, whats your specs if you dont mind me asking?
Stands on rock and gets beamed. "What?"
Great video! What aspect ratio do you upload in?
