@@VORASTRA since we took the castle, Preston's quit giving me quests.
@@johnwayne9828 interesting, I'd say broken, or some mods might cause this. Unless you built up, protected every settlement on the map with turrets, made them self sustainable, Preston likes to spam the player with quests.
@@VORASTRA maybe a bug. Theres still some settlements that havent been built, but have around 20 with a minimum of enough beds, food, water and some turrets. I do still get the misc. to defend settlements.
I unlocked and built up all of the settlements hell give me, now hes just stuck trying to have his friendship talk with me.

@chriscross7830 Yeah. It's the same for MANY lines in Fallout 4 that are labeled "sarcasm". There is mod called "full diologue options" that shows you word by word what to say

You actually don't require dialogue at all, talking CANNOT change the story path in any way. I just unload with some explosive as soon as the door opens and Kellogg walks out.

With mods I set my pacify chance to 100%. Pickpocketed him to lower his armor rating, and punched him to death.

@@josiahgonzalez942 it's a legendary effect. Lucky if you get the explosive legendary on a minigun. There are mods that allow you to swap or even craft legendary effects onto any weapon though.
The funny part is that he hides in a fortress surrounded by synths and automated defences. The place stinks fear the first time I made that mission.

I'm 90% sure lifespans were much longer due to the tech and it being placed in the 2070s for pre war fallout, so him being from then would assume he'll live that long, I mean take Mr. House for example.

Nah, he just addressed what Kellogg said when "we both know how this is gonna end," implying that the expectation was that Nate would be the dead man at the end of that engagement. That was his way of saying, "yeah, you're not gonna kill me, I'm gonna kill you, then the institute, then settle down and die peacefully in my sleep"

I downloaded a mod that makes named bosses extremely hard, I didn’t think it would be hard at all since me and my companions took down swan easily. Little did I know, he would one shot all of us and I would eventually be forced to use three mini nukes on him.
Kellogg probably gets a depleted uranium skin to tank 3 mini nukes.

Kellogg by the story is you, the sole survivor. Kellogg is, in my opinion the best written character in fallout 4. He was so good that "The Ghoul" in the new fallout sieres reminds me of him. Dont get me wrong, The ghoul is an excellent character, and the fallout sieres is awesome

I killed him at level 9 by getting a lucky shot with a Fatman. Except now my game is screwy because the BoS showed up before I could do the Danse missions.
you could still complete those missions after initial BoS quests
Place about 6 land mines by the desk (not to close or he will be hostile), BEFORE finishing conversation. He will immediately take cover at that location and die immediately. Only the 2 Synths remain

Found an explosive minigun on my original vanilla playthrough. Killed myself with it shooting a ghoul in about 1/2 a second even with fully maxed T-60 power armor. it was extremely fun to use though.
I really hope one day we could get a Bethesda game where NPCs can realize how well and truly fucked they are. How do you think you're gonna win a fight against a guy in full power armor weilding a mini-gun? I don't care how cool your gun is, Kellog. You're just a squishy dude.
That and games where a random Bandit tries to rob someone in full dragon or Daedric. Like...what do you think is gonna happen, my guy?
True. But then again I almost never wear power armor and killed a ton of BoS Knights with a shotgun or the overseer's guardian which realistically shouldn't be possible. But the game is simply not realistic. Otherwise the only way to take out someone in power armor should be a grenade, fat man, mines, or an RPG. Maybe a .50 cal sniper.

I did this mission today, and a tip: near the place where you face him, there is a locked place with a Fatman and a nuke. I literally threw a nuclear bomb at him in that battle
Same strategy here, worked like a charm. Codsworth had to sit and collect himself for a sec but it had good effect on target.

My game glitched during this scene. I said "end of the line Kellogg" and he said his line "... your sons not here, so it is the end of the line just not how you imagined" and my game soft locked with me just staring at him and saying "mhm" "alright" "hmm" when i pressed the dialog buttons
I'm thinking which barrel mod is best for the explosive minigun. On one hand thus 3 barrels version here has lower DPS, but it's better for ammo efficiency. The other one, with the high fire rate is better DPS tho.
I've only had one playthrough where I got an explosive minigun, and relatively early on. Even on survival, that thing is sickeningly op, especially with perks. Love to see it.

Im lvl 28 and just got to diamond city. I’ve just been clearing every location on the west side of the map above the glowing sea and everything north of Boston/lexington
I always like to casually drop pulse mines in front of every synth before I go talk to Kellogg.

In my latest replay i did this as quickly as i could. But rather than talking with him i just stood in the door and fired the fatman that hou get in the same building killing them all in seconds

If you do too much npcs will get op - if I remember correctly the players healthgain from levels is capped, and certain npcs like Kellog are allways a couple levels above the players

Ahh yes, the Tri Barrel Explosive Minigun, my favorite weapon in the game. If you use Emergency Protcols, Inquisitor of Atom and Nerd Rage with this, you can get your damage close to 200 per shot. Even Legendary Mythic Fog Crawlers don't last more than 1-2 seconds.
Best believe I took his drip once I finished

In my most recent playthrough i didnt even talk to him. I just activated V.A.T.S. and beat him to death with a stun baton before he could even attack
You completed the quest before the bullet hit him. That’s how sure they were.
