Great advice but, keeping your hair in a protective hair style like cornrowns, twists or braids can reduce break age and split ends. Keeping your hair in an afro is actually not bad but is most likely to get tangled. Protective styles minimize daily manipulation, which can reduce hair breakage and split ends. By reducing breakage, protective styles can help you retain more length over time. Ensure that the styles are not too tight, as excessive tension can lead to traction alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss due to pulling on the hair. Agreed, I rarely ever keep my hair out for long periods. I usually keep it in a protective style and every once and awhile I may want to switch it up and rock the curly fro but for the most part I find my hair retains length most effectively when I keep braids or twist in so it prevents me entirely from manipulating my hair until my next appointment
Nah seriously though ever since I started doing his hair routine pdf with the banding method specifically, I didn’t have to constantly pick my hair out and always feel the need to wet it and add a bunch of products in my hair because number 1 even though the Banding method might seem like your doing the most to your hair it saves me the trouble of having flat head of hair in the morning and all I need to do for my hair to look 2x longer is take out the sections and just use my fingers to pull and shape my hair by barely losing any hair at all, and also taking a leave in conditioner and mixing it with water to mist the hair when it feels dry, I’ve noticed I don’t really do much manipulation accept the day I wash my hair and style it and all of that. It’s been about a week since I started it and It’s way better than sleeping on a bare pillow with no bonnet and hair being flat asf, along with ripping out hair just to pick it out each day
Hey man,I restarted my curls like 2 months ago and they growing but the problem is that I have to comb my hair everyday in the shower since it looks untidy when I don’t comb it.Should I keep combing or must I use smt to maintain it (my hair isn’t long enough for cornrows)
That black study is either cap or the people used to determine the growth didn’t take care of their hair because my hair grows like twice that Also is it bad if I use a wide tooth detangling comb daily on my ends? If i spray my hair with water and leave in beforehand how would my hair be breaking off?
I still wouldn’t advise doing that daily. but if you want to test - clean your comb first, then do your detangling. My best guess is that you will see the breakage in your comb

Question. Is it bad in anyway that, instead of using a comb/pick, i just use my fingers to untangle and shape my afro?
It’s a good thing 👍 reduces stress on hair
nopee
That is better than using a pick or comb

What hair type do you have
Is it ok if you we use a silk durag ?
question - i use a gel for the curly hair routine so where would i put that in during the LCO method?
I will usually spray my hair with an oil afterwards. but sometimes I do the LCO then use the gel
