Update: Since the latest update v0.3, the prices for these recipes have been nerfed HOWEVER, these recipes are still great for gifting (e.g., smoothies are loved items for some characters) and stamina replenishment! (e.g., Bug Jerky!)
lol I just watched this video and made 29 green smoothies and then saw only around 800 coins gained (there were a few other items in there for the "other" category of sales) in sales when it should have been over 4,000. I instantly knew it must have been nerfed. I got 15 coins each and that was less than some of the veggies I used were worth on their own. I was on Fall day 27 in my first year and first time ever playing the game and trying to make money before winter hit because I'm not a C rank yet. Close but not yet. I wish I had looked at comments first. :P Ironically, I had been looking at them for stamina regen just prior to that and then thought I'd make some money instead. I think from here on out I will sell one and make sure I know an item's worth since it is stll early access. It was a great guide though. :D
@@mico2xs yeah it was so helpful at the time of posting this! But everything is subject to change with early access sadly. I’m sorry! I wish I could just update my intro in the video, because I think the easy recipes are still useful! I do have a new money making video out though that should help for the current build of the game!

They have been nerfed into the ground money wise, tis a sad time LOL I tried this out thank god I only did one each just to see before doing my whole stash!

Fish Tacos might take more ingredients, but they are also a much larger profit on fish than grilled fish. It takes 2 ingredients to make a Fish Taco, a Fish and a Tortilla. You can also mass-produce them because the recipe is a gift from villagers. Unfortunately Tortillas aren't sold until much later in the game at the General Store, so it's not worth making them until the player can buy Tortillas. However the profit skyrockets at the point you go from Grilled Fish to Fish Tacos.
Yes, so true - this would be a great recipe to include in a future video that is not sharing one-ingredient recipes!

With the chance of ruining ingredients by trial and error cooking, the game definitely encourages you to befriend the NPCs in order to get recipes!

Totally!! Trial and error can lead to some great discoveries, but I sacrificed sooo many ingredients figure these recipes out I’m definitely going to focus on friendships for recipes moving forward!

Thanks Sarah, I am busy turning butterflies into stamina as we speak. While money is in very short supply, stamina is the big bug bear (pun intended) so making them into jerky is a great life saver, even if it does make me gag! Love your videos, many thanks.
Not sure when this was made, but it's 11-19-23 here and I just got 8 coin for a smoothie, whereas the coral tall coconut goes for 35 coin. The salad I could only sell for 16 coin, which is worth far lower than any vegetable I have. Sucks the game thinks making money even more scarce and difficult than it already is, is a good thing.
I would say the only good thing here is you can unlock a recipe using this method of the single ingredient, at least. Because I have 3 recipes to my name and at least 5 people I have hearts with already. Yet no recipes from them yet.

With the new March 2023 update, I believe our beloved grilled fish and bug jerky recipes' selling prices were nerfed. Currently displaying that they sell for 35 and 25, respectively. 😭I knew they'd get nerfed eventually but my goodness! I wish I didn't grill 50 fish just now! Just wanted to share new info with you. Great video, btw!!! 🥰
Yeah I was pretty heartbroken after spending 3 game days at 50% speed spam fishing for the money to get a grill and found out after 98 bug jerky that I could have made more just selling the bugs on their own. T-T Now I'm just going to farm up maple syrup (200 coins each) while I grind for bronze ore and the bronze star large milk I need to advance to silver kelps.
Yeah they kinda fail with economics and prices atm
So much helpful content as I muck my way through my first play-through. Thank you again. Question: I just upgraded my house and have the kitchen, which APPEARS to have an oven built in… do I still need to buy an oven before I can make the jerky?

I unlocked this area when I completed the first altar of offerings at the Lake temple! Thanks so much for your support
I unlocked this by the Giants interaction or when I started going diving or by 1 ONE of the collections on first tier. Not sure what did it but I don't have the rest of the first collections done yet on a new file. hope this helps. When you do unlock it, you will have to sleep first, then next day a villager will come meet you at your house and say the mines are open. After that you'll still have to unlock the sword by attempting to enter the mines and meet up with yet another cut seen that will give the sword to you.

also if you catch any type of salmon you can make smoked salmon (grill any type of salmon + 1 wood) and sell that for 215 that's worth more than grilled fish
That’s another great one- And fish + wasabi + knife for sashimi! I’ll have to do 2 ingredient recipes next!!
Oh, that also works for any other fish: fish except salmon and socked eye salmon + wood = smoked fish

started playing a few days ago on xbox x and prices are even lower than the ingrediants, smoothie is eight dollars and bug jerky is 13. making money is almost impossible now. im 1 year in and still havent made 10 grand yet. every price has been slashed
Great recipes. Couldn’t figure out the cooking thing. Love your farm crop layout but how do the sprinklers reach two row depths out? Are those sprinklers only available on certain platforms or ? Also how to get butter?
Those are the sprinker IIs I think. Need gold and silver kelp for those. I'm trying to get them myself. You get butter by putting milk in the mason jar.
Hi everyone can anyone tell me if these recipe prices changed with the spring update? I made fruit smoothies, and green smoothies and I was only able to acquire 15 coins per each. So I kept them because great energy boost!! Also, the famous bug jerky is only worth 25 coins! :(. Sad

Just wondering. How can you see the prices ingame from the item when you scroll the inventory? Cant find it. Im playing on ps5
Yep it’s a pain, I can only see the price of things I have already sold. Those on PC have many advantages over us Ps5 players, it’s frustrating but seems to be a constant problem with games that are ported to console. The PC players can also see what seeds are in their plots by right clicking, I wish WE had that benefit too! 😏

Hello, I try to make a sucessfull dish, but when I search it in recipe list, it wasnt there, how actually we write a recipe in this game?
The NPCs gift recipes to you in the game.
As of right now, the manual cooking you achieve won’t be added to your recipe list. As Faye said, you will need to get recipes from NPCs!

Maybe put chestnut in oven / frying pan
