Let‘s hope they are done with Blofeld. There simply is no real life equivalent to Spectre. An unpolitical terrorist organisation based in the west is just silly and implausible and basically a copout to avoid the Russians, Chinese or Iranians. Or you know, those Islamists who operate all over the world.
I preferred it when we didn't get to see Blofelds face. Made him feel more powerful and menacing to me. But out of the Blofelds we do see, Savalas is my favorite. He feels like he could physically be a match for Bond.
In the books Blofeld is described as looking “like a doll” and being a former body builder. Terry Savalas’ eyes, face and body fit that description perfectly and he’s very menacing with his mannerisms. I forget if he ditches his crew cut after Thunderball book but it doesn’t matter. He looks way better bald.
Donald Pleasance: The iconic Blofeld Telly Savalas: The physical Blofeld Charles Gray: The sophisticated Blofeld Max von Sydow: The non-canon Blofeld Christoph Waltz: The new Blofeld
Fun fact Blofeld being portrayed by a different actor every time is actually accurate to the books as he radically changes his appearance in between his three appearances in the Fleming novels
max van sydow should've played blofeld in you only live twice with a scar on his face. Not to be disrespectful to don plasence and his legacy but the sound of max von is EXACTLY THE SAME as blofeld from from russia wlth love and thunderball. When i heard blofeld in FRWL i always imagine a man like max von in my head
Just noticed the For Your Eyes Only footage at 1:45 has the unused Bill Conti score for that particular scene, whereas it was unscored in the final film. Does anyone know why that is?
Am I the only one who kinda doesn't like how they revealed him in YOLT? Like they just had Hans standing in front of him and he just pokes his head out from behind him like "hello" 😂 Could have had him use a rotating chair at least, classic move 😅
From Russia With Love, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majestice Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, For You Eyes Only, Never Say Never Again and the actor Christoph Waltz in Spectre and No Time to Die. So 8 Blofeld personality and practic the same person, I think this guy change her face but that is not true because Bond in movies everithing recognize them and practic is the same person.
If Blofeld is Blofeld, does that mean that Bond is Bond & that they are somewhat similar? Does their past try to describe something? Can longer surnames sometimes become shorter? Can people have 2 different surnames? Is film character Madeleine Swann close to Blofeld in some way?
I rather liked Waltz vertion as he has this gentlemanish flur and all innesent bussness man in start but then he get’s all icecold scary and quite formiddebul villan(a wolf in sheeps clothing)
It kind of plays out like any other character vs character arcs we've grown to learn and love. I can list a few interesting examples. Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty Batman and Joker Rick Grimes and Negan Smith from the Walking Dead Spider-man and Green Goblin Both can have similar qualities. However, their goals and methods can often differ from one another! I know I sound like a peanut gallery. I just find it fascinating.
Skoro Blofeld został pokazany w YOLT to dlaczego nie pokazali jego twarzy w Tylko dla twoich oczu ( If Blofeld was featured on YOLT why didn't they show his face in Just For Your Eyes)
As terrible as George Lazenby was as James Bond the high point of the film was Telly Savalas as Blofield. If they didn't go the comic route with Diamonds are Forever and made it more serious, he and Sean Connery would've been great playing off eachother. Also Chris Waltz was the perfect 21st century Blofield.
These villains are different people every encounter. The mastermind Blofeld is clearly the cat.
The perfect answer!
They covered that in Powerpuff Girls 😂
Meow Meowsos Meowfeld.
Yup. Unlike Bond & Powers, the PPF found out the truth.
Blofeld purring his pet cat becomes the greatest villain archetypes in spy genres you see in parodies and homages in all kinds of media. That villain is way ahead of his time.
Even villain needs somebody to love.
Blofeld was German, then Spanish, then British, then German again. I cant wait for them to try an Indian Blofeld.
In that case it’d have to be Bloody Feld
Who do you think would make a good Indian Blofeld?

Thunderball is hilarious to watch after the Austin Powers movies, they got the parodies from it perfect.

1. Donald Pleasence
2. Telly Savalas
3. Max Von Sydow
4. Charles Gray
5. Christoph Waltz
why is Christoph Waltz last? You clearly haven’t seen him in Inglorious basterds. He as an actor beats all these
The first Blofeld is Anthony Dawson, is my favorite, it is also Dr Dent in Dr No
@@rayek4758 Dawson portrayed Blofeld physically while Eric Pohlmann provided the voice for From Russia with Love and Thunderball.
@@AC_RDR2_Q this is only about the portrayal of Blofeld. Waltz didn't add a lot to the character, he didn't make it very interesting either.
@@joe_razor in my opinion he did. that’s your opinion and that’s fine but opinions aren’t right or wrong
Donald Pleasance was without a doubt the face of Blofeld
Our first Dr Evil
My favorite Blofeld was the unseen one in From Russia With Love and Thunderball. Without a doubt, the most menacing.
Me too, is Anthony Dawson
Anthony Dawson (who previously played Professor Dent in Dr. No) led the physical appearance while Eric Pohlmann had the voice.

The Cat a ventriloquist is the real villain, aiming global domination
Plus the guy always seems to die but the cat ALWAYS escapes
Donald Pleasance: The iconic Blofeld
Telly Savalas: The physical Blofeld

@@johnl6192 Maybe Hans Stavro Landa Blofeld ?
@Wolf 2000 Because you think Donald Pleasance was menacing ? "Goodbye, Mr Bond" from You Only Live Twice was just hilarious.
@Wolf 2000 He's just as scary as the killer in Silent Night, Deadly Night 2.

My favorite actor portraying Ernst Stavro Blofeld will always be Max Von Sydow! His voice makes You think evil does exist when he says "for your sake"
Agreed!
Yes, absolutely.
Now he appears in "No time to die" and "Four your eyes only" version of him is killed.
Fun fact
Blofeld being portrayed by a different actor every time is actually accurate to the books as he radically changes his appearance in between his three appearances in the Fleming novels
For me the FRWL and TB Blofeld is the best.
Something quite silently menacing about Donald Pleasance's Blofeld...

i think savalas also benefited from lazenby not really being an intimidating bond.
Ernst, not Ernest
I thought about jerry maguire
which songs played during the diamonds are forever and For Your Eyes Only parts of the video?
Making Blofeld a long list step-brother with daddy issues annoyed me.
Mike Myers is responsible for that plot.
