Shelf Notes: Jimi Hendrix opened for Szabó, as well as Jefferson Airplane, a year after the release of ‘Spellbinder’ - the album from which this track comes. It’s serene. Masterful soloing, steady percussion, a bassline that rocks like a rowing boat. There's distant, impassioned shouting, but it's barely audible beneath the layers of guitar and drum. Carlos Santana’s own Latin-influenced version is better known, but this one is unbeatable.
