    Man I've been using multiple 1tb of Micro SD card on Switch and Steam Deck to play AAA games with no issues whatsoever, never once it failed nor had performance issues. I had SD card failed on me but never experience failed Micro SD card. So I'd say the chances of Micro SD card failed is just the same as dual SD cards. One of them might failed (knock on woods) but the good thing is you still get another one.

    I love (love!) my Zf. But for faster-paced events / for me, my Z8 is such a better choice. They both have their use case of course. Can the Zf handle things? Yes! The Z8 just does it better / faster / with more control options (banks, buttons). In addition to be being much more comfortable to hold for longer sessions. They both excel in different ways 😎

      Love this. I mostly do high volume school band headshots, and when the x100v came out, I got it the day of release. I shot an entire school year book the next week with it just as a test. I actually sold more prints from that particular school than I ever have with another camera. I still use my xt2 as my main workhorse, shooting far less now though, but want to get the Nikon for the better focusing. Since SD cards, especially micro SD cards, are slower than CFexpress cards I think this would be perfectly fine for slower event shooting. Situations in which you don't need to take lots of burst shots and when it's fine that writing to the card takes a little longer.
    Actually, yesterday I went out and forgot my CFexpress card. All I had was the 64gb SD card I keep in my Z7 II as an emergency backup for this exact situation.
    It took WAY longer to clear the buffer but at the end of the day it all worked out. My only concern was the size of the card since I mainly shoot animals in larger bursts. I was able to make it work but I was still a bit nervous about filling the card completely...

  • @jaapkamstra9343
    @jaapkamstra9343 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think it's weird as it's not Nikon's first attempt to make a retro camera. Back in the day they made the Df, which was a lot better in my opinion.
    So yeah: what are the do's and don'ts for a retro camera:
    Do:
    -make some lenses with aperture ring.
    -make a iso and shutterspeed dial on top.
    -make a grip deep enough that you can carry the lenses provided.
    -make some tools for manual focus assist.
    -make dual card slots.
    -have some options for retro lens hoods.
    -have a silver version available.
    Don't
    -put a pasm dial on it.
    -put a flippy screen on it.
    -put more than one colour on the dials.
    So now you know Nikon: go fix that!

    • @NiSE_Rafter
      @NiSE_Rafter 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree with your don'ts.
      You can always leave the screen in place or closed if you're not a fan of it but it adds modern functionality for a lot of people.
      Same with PSAM just leave it in full manual and twist all the dials you want. The beauty of what Nikon did was offering people the choice. By offering both retro and modern controls the Zf can be used in a wider application of scenarios. Not everyone can afford a dedicated camera for each niche of photography they enjoy.

    This great little retro camera ZF with way better superior tech over the older tech Z6II has the brand new super duper EXPEED 7 image engine processor at 24 MP is actually the replacement for the current and still expensive 4 year old Z6II that is not up to todays expectations for video for faster focusing or read out speeds that can cause rolling shutter artefacts when using electronic shutter modes.
    So there is no Z6III model coming. Likely to be another body like a Z8 variant a bit bigger than Z6II but slightly smaller than Z8 body with a much needed focus select button on side with fewer than pixels than the Z8 and outgoing older Z7II. Will be optimised for video, but will still be expensive like the Z8 prices.
    The new 45.7 MP Z8 is actually the Z7II replacement .
    Z6 II, Z7II it is going and no refreshes into a cheaper version 3's . Cheaper is gone now . Entry cheaper level is the new fancy retro high tech $2500 USD ZF and for the bargain hunters the slow 4 year old Z5 that will probably get discontinued after July 2024 .

    Other than the "it looks cool", my take away from this is: wait for the Z6iii...

      The Z6iii will be the better camera for sure, but the Zf is a sheep in wolf's clothing. It doesn't look like a professional camera. It looks more like a hobbyist camera and therefore you can capture more candid pictures. That's the the biggest advantage in my opinion.

    The most retro about this camera is the flippy screen. My Canon 70d had that. The second most retro about this camera is not having dual card slots. And the most modern thing about it is forgetting to build lenses for it.
