I dreamed of buying one of these campers - a really vintage one - I dreamed of turquoise detail...not that easy to find a good one. Then during my hunt for the camper - I ended up finding a tiny beach cottage - so instead I bought the cottage. So far I'm super happy with or tiny cottage.
I got a 76 prowler a couple years ago for 1,900 in Colorado. Depending where you're at you may have to travel. I just saw it sitting all summer and pulled in the drive when I saw the guy outside and started talking about it...
I'm so excited to see other people in love with these old girls!! I JUST bought a 1970 Highlander 20 footer today and ive been nesting all day and love it!!!!!!!!!!!! it's also SO CUTE!! GUESS WHAT... 750 BUCKS. CLEAN TITLE AND NEW TAGS!
Oh my gosh! My parents had that exact same camper!!! I had so much fun as a teen camping with my parents and my friends who got to come along with me! I hope you have fun revamping it and I hope you have tons of great memories with your new camper! ❤️

If you wanted more sleeping areas, you could change the table to fold up vertically! That’s how my great grandma’s camper was! For travel, it’s going to require a LOT of work. I would recommend buying a small lot at a lake community and keeping it parked most of the time & making it a lil vacation place.
My bad, I meant fold down(bc of the windows). So when you aren’t using it, you would easily move the supporting leg to the side and it would all fold DOWN from horizontal to vertical. & then you could allow for the table area to act as a couch area.

I don’t know if someone else already commented and you’ve probably already figured out, but yes: that dinette is definitely also a bed, you just lift it off of those metal posts and set it in that lip on the bench seats. 👍

I had a 1979 Jamee RV and loved it! It had no a/c and was not updated, we bought it for 1000. Bought an RV ac for $100 and used modern carpet and tile to remodel it. Most of it still looked 70s. I found orange sheets and throw pillows. Had such fun! You all should watch the movie RV and the long, long trailer.

I got a 76 like yours 5years ago, but the green version, make sure your corner side trims are sealed real good, mine had water infiltration ont both front side and wood was rotten from ceiling down hade to open walls and redoo all studs,I used Dicor sealant + puty tape on all 4 corners, she is free of leaks now , good luck
I think it's so funny she loves the color of the exterior, the tile, and the print. It's '70's alright. I lived in and wore those colors. I'm glad she likes them. I hope there isn't much wood rot. That would be a very big job to fix.
You don't know what trailer walls and framing are like on a wall until you open them up. I have bought used travel trailers that look really in good shape until you really dig into it and find the old water leaks and mold.

My camper cost me $36,000. I still had to buy new tires after a year. You need to by at least 8 ply or risk a blowout on the road. We had to replace the WH, the fridge, the roof needed replacing after I year, at least it was under warranty. Things go wrong, things break, so you need to be prepared.

Sandra Westley from the UK you a,ways need new tyres even if it’s not been on the road, every 5 years tyres need changing, even if it’s sat in the same place for 5 years, they can burst when travelling and turn your car and van over, not worth taking chances.
The reality is that a $1,200 camper is going to have the same problems a $500 camper will have. Either one can have extensive water damage and that's where the work and expense lies.

We actually have a lot of sleeping space, it sleeps 8 people!
I had one like that years ago. I’ve re-done three older campers. My last one was a 1988 5th wheel. So much fun! Love watching these kind of videos
