Having the Enclave be integrated into the NCR is so ironic. Its a fallout version of Operation Paperclip, where the NCR is even more a representation of the old-world government.
Hearing that multiple people are willing to work on something so ambitious is incredibly cool. Having Benny play a bigger role and killing Lucius was an unexpected but welcome surprise, in vanilla game Benny just felt like a "chore" if that makes sense, there isn't much to talk about him about because it just leads to him fleeing you or him dead. Despite being a faction revolved around technology, it'd be cool that they'd also be assimilated into the legion, the scribe counter could become a normalised move for melee combat, old scrapped power armour to add to the legion armour. As some (or just the Centurion armour) is made up of multiple faction armour. Though a bit like Fallout 3, wouldn't there be outcasts against for the unfication legion? Outside of fighting the NCR, they'd pretty much abandon their role of the what they once was and become less of the brother hood of steel and just another piece of the legion, would the women be sold as slaves to high ranking officers just like the great khans, surely a portion of the brother hood is smart to acknowledge how the legion actually behaves right? That there are effects and consequences of having alliances especially with a faction like the legion. What if the brotherhood finds out what the legion would do to its BOS members after the whole situation is over? Will they let that happen? Or perhaps have a war of their own? So excited to see where this idea goes. Other stuff, I feel like the enclave would likely support the NCR due to be a faction closely resembling a fleshed out government, the enclave in itself is a group that descended from government officials and believes in the idea of a government in general even if the higher ranks are artificial like John Henry Eden, I'd say their views would closely align with the NCR more than just a civilization that "lives" like like roman slavers and what not. PS the Show is very not good, I don't recommend.
@@Grimhushpuppy It's really exciting, and I'm so happy and grateful that modders are willing to make it happen. I thought about how far the Legion could go before addressing Caesar's brain tumor, and to avoid it being too Legion-biased, I thought that Benny killing Lucius, losing Caesar put the Legion, and then suffering shocking casualties at the NCR trenchline (possibly with that Enclave help I mentioned) puts them on level-footing with the NCR, even after so many victories. I love the idea of the possibility of factions crumbling into smaller factions, and I mean every faction. Outcast Brotherhood, Corporate NCR, Enclave Renegades, tensions between Tribunes and Legates in the absence of Caesar, frumentarii division between a more progressive group that hopes to turn the Legion into a federation of vassal states and 'the old guard' and their proteges that believe the Legion should stay a monolithic empire; the more choices and possibilities, the better in my opinion. Even though the backstory great favors the Legion, I don't want NCR fans to feel like they playing a Legion propaganda mod, and should be tons of ways to topple, divide, subvert, and overthrow both main factions. I'm also big on the idea of bizarre alliances, because it will really give players something to think about when choosing who they want to help, side with, or neither. Both factions have changed greatly in a short amount of time, and (for lack of a better term) based factions like the Legion and Enclave find each other on opposite sides of the war. The amount of possibility for division in each faction should make the whole war extremely dark grey, with heroes and awful people on both sides and not strictly by faction either. Just an idea but the DLC areas could be involved as well, with the Tribunal Brotherhood fighting the NCR Enclave over Big MT, or an independent, underground faction of deserters from both sides that want to use the Divide's nukes to destroy both factions, Joshua Graham possibly coming back to unify the Legion and free it's people; causing a slave rebellion and possibly causing some legions to defect. Elijah's still at large. Tons of possibilities for sure :)
Where would you draw the front lines in this scenario, with the fall of the hover dam, presumably all of the ncr's camps and bases along the river would be overrun or be easily encircled. I remember their is a line that Major Knight says at the Mojave outpost would be the front line if the legion make it past Nipton (which they would in this scenario). So maybe the NCR would push out a ways from Mojave outpost to protect the I-15 as 95 would mostly be under legion control, making the desert area / Nipton be the front line in the south. The north would be a bit more complicated, but I think for a starting situation in the north could be that Camp McCarran is under siege by the legion with artillery they got from the Boomers. It depends on how far you want the legion to be in to new vegas, but I think having McCarran, The Strip, and Freeside be the front line / contested territory would be interesting. Also, House would probably barricade himself inside the 38 after the situation with the Omertas, so I think a cool mission that you could get from a Lanius led legion would be to try and collapse the building on top of house to try and destroy the bunker underneath, probably with some device made by the brotherhood aligned legion as like you said the Lucky 38 would be make of a space age material or something. Anyways, I wasn't sure how far in to vegas you imagined the Legion would have pushed, I think Golf would definitely fall just based on where it is, maybe you could have the inverse of the legion raiding camp that is in the base game and have some ncr ranger camps in the back lines of the legion to try and disrupt them. Anyways I love the idea, New Vegas is such a good game since it inspires and allows for some much of these kinds of scenarios other rpgs should take notes.
@@JaySeeOG My original idea was to equally divide the map with the Legion in the north and NCR in the south, with the Legion controlling most of the population centers, and the NCR mainly having military type installations in the south. A trench line implies a contested zone or no man's land in between trenches, but that doesn't necessarily have to be the case. I thought a Legion mission could involve destroying NCR anti-aircraft guns to allow the Boomers to bomb NCR trenches and allow for a Legion Blitzkrieg. I also thought another brutal 'front' would be fought in the mountains across the Colorado. A ranger led or sponsered resistance would or could be sprinkled throughout Legion territory, but I don't think it could be as blatant as camps with tents and fires like the Legion did in NCR territory, considering how much better the Legion is known for securing their lands from rebels, mutants, and wildlife. The Legion would similarly have moles all over the place in NCR infrastructure and military command. Giving the Legion control of the River makes sense considering the scenario I described doesn't leave a lot of room for the NCR to capture Cottonwood Cove. An idea I didn't discuss enough in the video was the NCR's construction of a massive defensive fort on the Cali border/Mojave Outpost, which helps serve the idea you mentioned of the factions trading places (inverse of vanilla FNV). Ultimately, I put trust in the modders to do as they see fit, but I'm always happy to answer questions or help in any way I can. Thank you for checking out the video and commenting, I really enjoyed reading :)
@@JustAnotherTalkingHead I see more of what you mean then, basically the NCR is in a final stand for the Mojave, and will have new fortifications and camps on the western side of the map to stop the legion from coming getting closer to California. You could have the NCR take over Goodsprings and Primm and put them under a brutal martial law regime, which could feed into the idea of the darker side of the NCR, also the Powdergangers could be defeated and pressed into being convict soldiers, having their sentences cut short if they serve in the NCR military. I think a good area for the trenchline could be the area north of Sloan, and south-west of McCarran, its a mostly open area where you could have a large wwi style trench line, it also makes sense as it would protect both ways south towards Goodsprings / Sloan and ultimately the border. In the south east side you could have the NCR hold in a lot of different places, if you are being generous, you could say that they pulled back from the Colorado and are holding as far our as Novac, or you could have them pulled back to the ranger station / outside of searchlight. I think in some ways it makes sense that the NCR would fare better in the south east as New Vegas would be considered the prize to be captured, where as the South would be of less interest / effort. Also, if the legion hold HELIOS One it would make sense if the brotherhood aligned legion were occupying it.
@JaySeeOG Well said, you have very thoughtful ideas! Penal troops being used as garrison forces which then commit atrocities in occupied territory is a great way to starkly show the NCR's desperation and ends justify the means attitude in a similar way Nipton showed the player the brutality of the Legion in vanilla. I do like to justify the Legion's seemingly inconsistent advance as being aimed towards capturing Caesar's Rome (Vegas), as that now means he has a functional modern city with access to massive amounts of electrical power from the dam, which could serve as his capital, logistic hub, something else or all of the above. Preferably the mod's setting will greatly favor the Legion in terms of lore (similar to how vanilla lore somewhat favors every other faction), but the even split (or roughly even split) of the map serves to give equal opportunities to fans both sides, but also giving Legion fans so much more than what they got in the base vanilla game. I don't want to dictate each and every detail though, especially in terms of design. It does make sense however that just like in vanilla FNV different settlements, camps, hideouts, and even sniper positions could be taken or destroyed by the player, leading to the opposing faction seizing said location shortly after.
I've talked to a couple people about this and they've said they'd help me with it. Currently I've got a map half I've drawn half finished of the new borders. I have the idea that maybe the player could pick a background and can start as an NCR soldier or Legionary etc. Also had the idea that Caesar died because of the tumor so there's kind of a power struggle between Vulpes and Lanius
@@WastelandGamez That's awesome! I like your ideas, it makes total sense that Vulpes and Lanius would butt heads, especially considering there's no longer the iron-grip of Caesar or the level-headed judgement of Lucius. Kimball and his warhawkish, imperialist ways would have led to nothing but thousands if not tens of thousands of NCR boys and girls deaths for ultimately nothing but a good trading partner. This will help push through the necessary reforms in the NCR and have them focus more internally (like with their food and water situation) especially if you did the good karma ending to Cass’s quest. Furthermore while I won’t say Mr House is a caring man if we assume that the courier is mostly good karma then the Mojave gets one of the if not the best outcome for it.
