Pagani: Lamborghini’s Biggest Mistake

The creation of a man who crossed great oceans,
Worked his way up from humble beginnings,
And stood up to the world’s supercar titans.
What he created would be an amalgamation of aesthetics and raw brutality,
Singing with horsepower and dancing with flowing curves,
The Pagani Zonda was a modern masterpiece.
A supercar that stood on its own,
As lamborghini’s became stale, and old,
And ferrari’s became clinical and boring,
Pagani’s Zonda spilled its colorful paint across the streets of Italy,
And breathed life back into Modena.
This is the story of a breakthrough performance from a true virtuoso.
A tale spun of carbon fiber and 91 octane,
This is the story of Horacio Pagani’s opening act.

Fun fact: Pagani had built a second test unit of the Pagani Zonda which is said to have been constantly reused. Having over 5 engine swaps, 7 gearbox swaps and many body modifications made over the years. And now currently, the test unit is sitting in display at the Pagani museum with supposedly 1,000,000km clocked on the odometer. The car is now dubbed as the Pagani Zonda Le Nonna.

This is true, I saw the car at the old plant back in 2014 and it had well over 1 million km to it. Every time a new engine would appear in a Zonda, everything was tested in that model, same with gearboxes, gauges, clutches and bodywork. At the time it was blue and was driven around the landscape for hours and hours to reach more than 10,000 km testing every little detail.
Another fun fact from that day I was there, they were putting the last touches on Lewis Hamiltons new purple car, and it was the only one completely assembled at that time.

Lots of companies have fought tooth and nail to enter the hyper car realm, but only a few have succeeded of late. Bugatti did it with raw power, German engineering, and immense funding, Koenigsegg with unparalleled engineering and a huge dose of Scandinavian madness, and Pagani with pure Italian artistry and passion. It feels like a new company tries to enter the field every week, and dies just as quickly. It takes something special to make a hyper car company from scratch.

I want my sports car or exotic car to be something like in perfectly perfect you wanted to have its own kind of personality and characteristics where every single car is like slightly different so you have to get to understand it you have to get to know it I want a car where somebody else like family or something cannot just jump into it and just drive it away like you can every other goddamn car on this planet I want someone or rather I want a sports car or exotic car where I know all of its quirks I know all of its weaknesses but also all of its strength and on top of that that's what you get when you're dealing with a hand build automobile like Lotus and Lamborghini was back in the day.

Art. Any time I've ever personally laid eyes on a Pagani in person, all I ever see is artwork on four wheels, and a V-12 beast powering it along. A soulful sound emanating from the exhaust, I recall one time driving around South Beach here in Miami where I reside, with the windows up and music playing, I heard a Huayra coming the other way. And it was blocks away. Mind you, I was driving past a golf course so that sound didn't echo off anything. Then I finally saw her. All carbon fiber, the owner driving her nicely. Being half Argentinean, it also gives me pride that Horacio is leading the way in so many respects. Pagani is only one of two hyper car makers that I genuinely am always excited to see what's next, the other being Koenigsegg which I hope you'll eventually make a video on.

Hey bro just commenting on the film making and editing skills. These videos of your captivated me not only because of the content you were making but the quality of them. I can feel the passion you have behind these videos and the time and care you put into each one. The pacing is amazing, the stories are fascinating, and the editing is engaging and congruent with the timeline of the story. I could go on and on but I just wanted to say keep up the good work bro. I love seeing this passion in filmmaking since you can feel it. I'll see you on the next videos ✌

Roaring engines and beating human hearts drive passion. Even in an all electric world, we will have driven people, and we will then have moving works of art.

You've done with this video what Horacio did with the C12. A work of art, with such beauty for which words do not exist. Truly I am in awe at the fact that you keep making better videos each and every time. The Tingles I felt for the entire last 5 minutes..... I thank you from the deepest parts of my soul. That was something else.

This video was a masterpiece. Same as before, the way you use words, the top tier visuals.
And one thing you always do, is make me give so much more respect to the creators of the car brands.
I always wondered why Pagani kept making different versions of the same car, but after this video, Pagani gets my most respect ever. True art.
Thank you for doing these. We wait patiently every 2 months and you always deliver.

Once again you knock it out of the park with a beautifully presented video. How you start off with nothing involving the car company yet nicely weave it all together is fantastic! I seriously cant get enough of your videos and look forward to the next one. This was a well done piece on Horacio and the path his life took to get to where he is today. His cars are pure automotive art and they may not be the fastest around, they definitely are the most unique and kept pushing the envelope, especially with the carbon fiber. Many people dont know the early life and how Horacio forged, or autoclaved his path to where he is now, they most certainly will now! Keep up the great work!!!!

These documentaries not only display the journey of some of our favourite machines from the automotive industry, but also teach life changing lessons that may completely over turn us as a person. Horacio truly is a man to be admired❤

The pacing, the commentary, the music. It's like lost art from 2000s and before. This is how you make a video, a documentary filled with hype and enthusiasm putting the cars and people behind it on a pedestal to better appreciate it. This video alone convinced me why paganis are special the analogy to art pieces makes so much sense.

When I was a kid, the instant I laid eyes on the Zonda, it instantly became my favourite car of all time, and as its legacy progressed it just became better and better looking. Pagani is highly likely one of the key driving forces that made me love cars like I do now.
Just as a small aside, Squidd, the instant I saw the community post, I knew you'd do Horacio's story justice, and boy did you. I was captivated the entire time, with the excellent writing, editing, and flow, truly a beauty that would make Horacio proud.
Marvellous work, Squidd's team. I look forward to the next jaw dropping video from you.

Pagani is basically what I wanted to be when I was small. Somebody working with dream cars, and dreaming them up later on. Even if I didn'T have the same life story, it is always nice to hear about those who do reach their dreams. Especially if the results are just as you described: Moving pieces of art
