My friends just bought a RUF 930 and brought it to the place I was.We were racing cars together back then. They said it would be cool if I drove to the next place we were going. So at properly jumped in the front seat of the car, took it down the road I’ve been down 100 times,in other cars that were fast also. I said watch this and jumped it over the railroad tracks right before a sweeping left-hand corner that I had done many times in other cars. When we hit the ground, lol, the rearend and the back tires went off the road a little bit. I countered steered and I drove it through the corner with the Excelerator Holding my line and hoping when I pulled up on the asphalt we would be OK. That is not what happened. At the place where I was coming back up onto the asphalt there was about a 4 inch rise above the grass. The car jumped up just enough to loosen the rear end And turned around backwards in a split second and backed into the front end of a lady coming in the other direction. Crushing her car to pieces. Luckily, we all walked away. The two cars were totaled. Last time I ever drove a Porsche.

I concur!. The 959 is the GREATEST CAR ever made!. I remembered reading a magazine article (when I was young) about some journalists test driving this car in the autobahn where they overtook 20 cars at 186mph! And other story where a German doctor with a 928 V8 engined Beetle was cruising at 155Mph on the autobahn at night when he saw two bright lights approaching him fast on his rear view mirror. Sweat drips from his forehead as he floored it to 165mph and those 2 lights passed him like he was doing 40mph. It was a Blue and a White 959 racing!.

My older brother was racing against John Brittens bike in Daytona (Battle of the Bears) 1991 with his Ducati 888 (finnishing 7-th place) He called me from Florida to Sweden (where we live) and was furios about the Britten V-1000 "homemade" bike that allmost won the race!After that he met John Britten in Assen/Netherlands a couple of times some year or two after that.He say that John was a true gentleman and a very good mecanic and designer.Who knows what happend if a such great man as J.B could have lived longer.????
