It always was - there was more than one occasion where it came down to literally one person to decide not to launch, probably the most famous was Vasily Arkhipov, on a Soviet nuclear submarine. Had he decided to go along with the other officers who wanted to launch, they would've done it. A similar incident happened in 1983, where a lt. colonel in the USSR received an "early warning" radar alert of incoming US nuclear attacks, but decided to wait further evidence rather than pass the warning up the chain of command. That's just two notable ones. So, I think people should be much more worried about a false alarm or some technological error leading to nuclear war, than an actual leader being insane enough to make a "first strike" decision - I'm not even sure their subordinates would follow through, since most humans want to survive, not destroy the world, or be responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths.

Very cool! Genuine question: Would they really spend the first 60s of the EAS broadcast just declaring that it's an EAS interruption, before getting to the actual details? If they don't issue the warning until the ICBMs are on their way... given how long it takes to confirm the launch and get the memo to EAS in the first place, that's a minute off the... maybe 5? minutes people have to react before the first strikes arrive.
I am no official, but I think I may have some sort of answer for your question. The interruption is declared over and over to give the viewers a sense of fear and urgency, and do draw their attention as immediately as possible. Those not in earshot of the broadcast are often alerted by others who are due to the chilling nature of the announcement. If instead the alert gave the information first, a lot of people wouldn't be there to hear it. Additionally, the information is most often longer than the introduction, so repeating the details over and over would take up more time.

Remember.
This is even more spooky considering where we are in November 2024.
My 11 yr old son had a dream back in May of the TV making that long emergency noise over and over and it said ‘This is not a test. The world is now at war. Missles and nukes have been launched all over the world. Take cover now. This is not a test.’ I just wanted to share. It was just a dream. But he never hears of any news he’s too busy with school & sports. He doesn’t even have social media or a phone. God bless everyone
Omg I'm sorry that's crazy that the environment your son is in has his mind coming up with these things.
I’ve dreamed since the day I first knew about them! I’ve had Terminator 2 like dreams to. It’s all psychological. I don’t buy into that bull of it being a sign! But I pray that your son and his generation never ever have to face that as much as my own generation has suffered!
Maybe it was just a dream, but It's definitely what It's coming.
Can we do a scenario based on the Blumhouse Halloween Trilogy?
I was a cashier at a national grocery store chain. Close to closing, I played this on my I-Phone, and told my co-workers of it. I thought it would be funny. They bought it hook line and sinker, so did many customers. I probably should not have done that. Hence, "I was" a cashier at a national grocery store chain. I deliver pizza now.
@@TheOldFossil I'm pretty sure they got fired lmao
Everyone's gangstar when the warning continues after you pause it
Thank god. Needed more Yuan P Eas content ⭐️👑 Hope to see more uploads soon! ❤️
UPDATE: It’s beginning YP. Mr. Homer Simpson of YT. It’s beginning in a fashion written out long ago. You’ve seen it.
Kudos for the unique look & sound!
And when you see this that’s when we begin praying. Our time will be up. Spend the last 15 mins saying goodbye to your loved ones.
The fact that this could actually happen just makes it 10x scarier
The American Anthem as a Farewell Symbol is Drepressive
That got me too! Sheesh, I wonder if they would put that on the broadcast to say goodbye lol
Kinda brings me a bit of happiness, or, would in my last moments, knowing that we’re taking the Russians down with us
"Drepressive", is that a new word?
imagine you’re just watching this and then every device just started saying this
I really felt something when it showed Texas. We have so many plants down here and just the thought of one hitting here, especially Houston where I'm at, is enough to put me in panic attack mode. This was a good video and looked absolutely realistic!
I am from San Antonio hope it doesn't happen anytime soon.
I live 10 miles from the aircraft plant in Fort Worth, it’s a prime strategic target and same with so many more in TX
@@ethan9793 I grew up in that area and I still live fairly close by. I've contemplated possible relocation/evacuation options if things were to heat up; but if that weren't an option, I also have knowledge of Cold War-era underground shelters.
They would take out Dyess AFB first and that’s out in west Texas
@@sbclaridge Kinda great to know there are thousands of abandoned nuclear Cold War bunkers just abandoned in the wilderness, just gotta find one if you can’t build your own, stock up, and pray you make it
from average news to special report, from special report to government alert.
new phobia
THAT'S SCARY BROO 😱 but I'm not work for 1972 days
Cool video, this is good maked! make more of these!
I love your videos. they give me chills but their weirdly fun to watch
Frighteningly well done. Very convincing.
Great closing with the Star Spangled Banner and fireworks !
Whenever i hear the eas test on my radio station at night my heart jumps out of my body
Please keep making these!
Could you do one for the Yellowstone supervolcano and a hypothetical eruption?
EAceS did a great Yellowstone one. I recommend it.
This is actually edited so we’ll. Whoever made these needs a tv show pranking people with these
Played this for family… it was not well received
Makes me wonder how many people have 14 days worth of food and water on standby in case something like this ever happens? The kind of panic this would cause in real life would create havoc at grocery stores nationwide.
you know when the national anthem plays... you're screwed.
I hope this never becomes a thing, it's scary how many people have experienced something like this ;-;
I would like to figure out a way to make this spontaneously play on my boss's computer on a random Monday morning.
Ironically, that's one of the best choral arrangements of the anthem i've heard. Also ironic in context, a video of fireworks....
