It’s not the county clerks handing them out. It’s the way the law is written. They simply accept whatever papers they given they don’t verify them they’re not supposed to.
It’s actually kind of a stupid system, and it’s surprising that it’s so common. And that it hasn’t been abused for decades.

In some states all you need to vote is a utility bill. In my state prior to Election Day mail theft was rampant. People with satchels were walking all over town stealing the mail in ballots and a utility bill and then going in early and voting for the homeowner. The homeowner did not know about it until they showed up to vote and were told that they already voted. There needs to be a requirement for photo ID at polling places…no utility bill…also limited mail in ballots..no mass mailing of mail in ballots. Mailing/absentee ballots should have to be requested not automatically sent to everyone.

There is nothing more important than stopping identity theft in our country. It is not just a domestic threat. We are attacked every day by other countries around the world.
These people are taking our identity, property, and intellectual property. This is going to destroy us if we don't get a handle on it. I was a victim of identity theft. They shouldn't accept paperwork transferring ownership of property without an ID and full fingerprints, just in case it's a fake ID. Paperwork should also have to be notarized in person at the clerks office or a designated notary such as at the courthouse, dmv, or tax collector. Private notary who isn't through a county or state agency not good enough for a property transfer. Put tighter criteria on the transfer requirements....

    • @jbranche8024

They need to send a letter, notice, email to the previous owner on file. The Judicial office could easily create the software and charge the person submitting the ownership transfer paperwork the costs of creating and mailing the letter. Additionally how about on the State, city or county website the ability to receive an alert or notice, text or email when a change is made to the account.

As a home searcher, I definitely agree that more safety measures should be in place before just signing a person's home over. A house is not something we can just grab from the dollar store. Please, help me understand what you are saying. Thanks.

    • @giveme10feet

@@TheeHuntress A private notary, although it requires those things, still leaves more room for fraud vs requiring a County notary that must be done at the Courthouse at the time of the transaction, therefore making it more harder for fraud and placing more County responsibility in the foreclosure process. Because so far, none of these cases can blame any County official for fault. And of course I do agree that they should have ID and finger printing requirements to match the seriousness of this type of transaction.

YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY TO PURCHASE A HOME AND TO ESTABLISH A MORTGAGE. SO WE NEED AN ATTORNEY TO WARN OF DEED FRAUDS. I WAS A VICTIM OF PURCHASING A HOME THAT HAD THE ORIGINAL OWNERS STILL ON THE HOME FROM 1968 AND I PURCHASED THE HOME IN1989. WHEN I WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT A FORECLOSURE ON THE HOME IT WAS RUNNING IN THE NEWSPAPER UNDER THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NAMES AND I WAS CALLED ABOUT THE PROPERTY WHEN I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE THIS WAS GOING ON. THIS IS AN ACTION THAT STARTS WITH GREEDY MORTGAGE LENDERS AND COMPROMISING ATTORNEYS. I PRAY THAT ALL RECOVER THEIR PROPERTIES BECAUSE IT CAN DRAIN YOU FINANCIALLY AS WELL, IT DID ME.
