    The fact that she placed him in a facility (while she lives n a house his money bought while she lives off his pension) and her refusing to answer the door talking through a camera is all I needed to see that she ABSOLUTELY married him to steal his money. What a disgusting person she is.

This also sounds like there is some deeper Medicare/insurance fraud happening. The state really needs to check on this place because something isn't right there.

    • @AngryOvaries
      @AngryOvaries 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

      Isn't a legal marriage if a judge rules him mentally incapacitated. Unless she requested this with a judge knowing he was mentally incapacitated he should be able to just leave her without any further legal issues which if this is the case then she needs to be charged with kidnapping and all kinds of things. On the other hand why did the family use an old photo of him? Have they not been in contact with him and why not? On the other hand why wouldn't he be in contact with his own daughter? Lots of unanswered questions but the divorce part should hopefully be simple for him.

      Most facilities need to be! I'm not in America so don't know what they're like (from what I've heard they're worse (sorry) but I've worked in Dementia units and I had to quit in the end. I tried so hard to change things and all it did was put a target on my back from management and other staff! 😡 Because I do the job from my heart, to give people the best in their end days, so I would follow up when care was lacking or I saw things that were... Questionable. But they don't care! There's some good staff out there - but a lot are lazy and heartless and management is usually just in it for the money. Breaks my heart that I had to leave what I love because of the way it is! Sorry for the novel, just something close to my heart and like you I thought the same about the facility.
      Because they're ultimately responsible, as sad as it is, we can't rely on the families to monitor the residents care as some have no family, and, well some families either dump them and run or, facing their loved one in such a state (dementia) is too mich for them (call them weak if you will, but dementia is a whole new level of hard, especially for the family).

      The tl;dr Don’t trust even the nicest facilities. Always try to hydrate and tempt your loved one with food.
      I had to remove my father from his expensive memory care facility. A brief illness left him too weak to move for several days and they didn’t ’turn’ him, so he developed a pressure wound on his foot. Their nurse misdiagnosed it as a Kennedy lesion, something that only occurs as someone is dying. The misdiagnosis ensured other medical experts with hospice came in to treat him, but it’s only palliative care. The facility was not giving him liquids or more than a few bites of food for days until we caught on. Being fed and hydrated, he bounced back to almost normal 2-3 days later. I spent 12 hours a day there for 6 weeks to ensure he ate and drank. Even had to begin bringing food and drink for him. Unfortunately the pressure wound on his foot 1st got bigger and worse over the weeks, and his health wasn’t strong enough to survive an amputation. He also developed a huge bedsore on his butt. The things I saw there were horrific. A patient was locked outside in the walled garden in 100+ degree weather, another fell from her wheelchair when left alone, skipped meds, etc. There were five other hospice cases there and they were all ignored by staff in the same fashion. One lady died when her kidneys failed, with a urinary tract infection from filthy catheters and three severe bedsores. The hospice bather hated the facility staff and told me everything going on with the other hospice patients. Of course hospice has a booklet for family and it mentions they loose interest in food or drink- but there is a difference between being tired/weak and not wanting to be bothered from not wanting to drink/eat at all. Stopping fluids helps their systems fail faster, a quicker death. A patient will get confused, sleep more or be hard to wake, and hallucinate (seeming to see something across the room, etc). My father was given possibly 2 weeks to live the day the nurse evaluated him and a week after he was clear eyed, sitting up and gruffly answering questions. With only three hospice visits a week, 12 hours a day there, hassles from the facility who were clearly pissed he hadn’t died and freed up the room- I pulled him out with, the help of hospice, and cared for him myself for the next four months at home…while his foot and calve rotted off of him.
      Visit your family when they are sick, ensure they are getting fluids and tempting foods, that they don’t lay in the same position more than 4 hours (a medical standard), learn about bed sores- they are easy to prevent and hard to cure. There was a lot of missteps and malpractice in my father’s care, things I didn’t know about- and trusted the professionals did. I have no doubt these facilities understand very well how fast a sick elderly person will die once they are denied fluids. New patients are easier to care for, they also usually come with a deposit and first and last month payments- and- they will charge an extra month without 30 days notice, whether you are removing the patient or they die. The longer your loved one lives, the less money they are making.

    I have questions, how did this woman come into his life? If the wedding was not legal then why did it take the family so long to help their brother? How did the facility let this man get in such poor condition? If the wife looses her case will she get jail time for the fraud and abuse? Can the family sue his wife for the money she basically stole? Bless this poor man.

    What an absolute sin on so many levels. I pray for him and the family and the perpetrators are brought to justice.

    A "Do Not Resuscitate" is not a do not care order- sheesh. Just evil; wicked wife.

    I hope that she is charged for neglect and abuse of the disabled! She's purely evil! Why is she still residing in a home that he paid for!?
    She had been convicted of child abuse, obviously like 95% of her peers (abusers of the vulnerable) they can only abuse the weak and the vulnerable given that she herself is weak!

    Some laws need to be applied nationwide.
