    I 100% believe joel, and his reaction to the event sounds like it really traumatized him. I also have seen crazy shit and have very similar nightmares because of it (like including his mindset towards it). people should really listen when he says that those who tell their stories genuinely have nothing to gain, and are actually very very brave. I applaud joel for telling his story and insisting that people are respectful. even though we don't know exactly what these things are, it just opens such a big can of worms once you realize how many people see the same stuff and aren't lying.

    • @0neDoomedSpaceMarine
      @0neDoomedSpaceMarine ปีที่แล้ว

      He's told it many times before. I get him though, I totally believe that he did see a ball of light flying through the air like he says, and he had no idea what the hell he was seeing. Seeing something which you're firmly convinced shouldn't be possible can really grab your brains by the balls, so to say, I've experienced that myself.
      Did Joel see aliens? G-g-ghosts? Who knows? Could have been ball lightning, could be some weather phenomenon which is very rarely observed and we don't understand, but I won't totally rule out more fantastical possibilities.
      We're in a huge world with millions of possible variables, and in an incomprehensibly huge universe with near infinite variables of its own, we can confidently rule out some possibilities, at least based on our current collective understanding of reality, but some things we'll never conclusively know for sure, I think.

    When I was like seven or something I saw aliens as well (I think at least) Me, my little sister and my mom where coming back home from somewhere late at night. When we were really close to our apartment we've seen a weird cylindrical glowy yellow object in the sky standing still for couple of seconds, for it to later just go super fast (like really really fast from a standing position) in an unknown direction. There was also a woman with a dog who saw that as well, and my mom had a convo with her asking if she saw that too! She said she saw that and she was wondering what that was, of course both of them my mom and that woman agreed it could have been aliens. I was some dumb little kid and started to yell to go home cuz im scared of aliens and I don't want to be here at night, after that we went home and the story ends here. To this day I still remember this crap like it was yesterday, lol

  • @AltimeterAlligator

    Joel, about your bizarro sighting -- I think you witnessed a vortex trying to form above your soccer field.
    When a tall column of air suddenly condenses into droplets, it can reflect _bright_ sunlight from odd angles -- such as nearby lakes or just the horizon. These reflections would hover in place, wobble, and vary in intensity, while the condensation casts a shadow on itself, giving the appearance of a solid shell among the lights.
    You remember that the lights meander away over the forest and disappear, which sounds to me like a rotating air column that gains power above a simple surface, but destabilizes above more complex structures like trees.
    Just a guess, anyway. The weather is spooky.

    30:31 In 2006 my family saw a similar one, it all started in January, we were dismantling the pool, suddenly my dog Sam started barking, we thought the neighbor's cat was capable, my dad tried to silence my dog but it was impossible, until he noticed that my dog was barking at the sky, my father pointed out surprised, and we all saw it, a triangular UFO moving at a very slow pace, and behind it followed a small light, after it left our sight, we finished disarming the pool and we went to sleep wondering what it was. The next day the door was wide open (we always lock it) my father tried to get out of bed but a pain in his leg prevented him (I want to clarify that we live in a very humble house, and the door is located in front of my parents' bed) that same day (and with pain in his leg) he asked the police station if they had seen that UFO in the sky, and they confirmed it and other neighbors too. A week later my dad went to the hospital, the doctor told him that he had a 4 cm tear and he asked my father if he lifted weights (my father is fat and doesn't do those activities) we never knew why he tore his leg

    Fears don't have to be rational. The overwhelming majority of times, that's the monkey-brain amygdala fear response to rubber snakes. People will make fun of fear reactions, but it's an unbelievably ancient emotion literally older than balls, maybe even older than sex. I bet a ton of animals have similar UFO fears from things beyond their comprehension (humans), too. It sucks at times, but our capacity for fear unites us all in being dumb dust bunnies incidentally together on a slightly bigger dust bunny in the vast weave of space.

    But I used to live in a shitty neighborhood with a ton of crackheads and late at night some of them would do weird shit like loudly meow at their front doors trying to get in, so I was pretty used to waking up randomly at night.
    But one day I woke up and there was a huge pulsating source of kinda like swamp greenish light coming from the sky, that's all I remember. Nothing weird or out of place other than that, I woke up saw the light and thought to myself huh weird and fell back asleep.

      I mean I don't think it's aliens because we don't even know if they truly are real of can reach us but I do belive what joey felt is like, a real thing. He felt and saw something and it affected him deeply but the problem is that it's when he was younger and the longer you live your own memories become more and more blurry to what actually happened so if he never got closure as a child it's hard to find it as an adult without it sounding condescending to him when that is not the case. Like it's such a strong cemented memory that it's unbreakable because every repetition solidifies itself but our memories and even our senses are tricky.
      I've had weird experiences in my life but usually if you ask someone else that was around there too they can give different pictures like if we got all of joeys friends to tell what happened individually I guarantee all ofthem would give a different story about "how it truly happened" because in a room they'd just reinforce their own biases of the event they lived.

      I was in the living room watching Battlestar galactica at the time, got up to get some water from the fridge and right before I got u, I saw this person shaped shadow woosh past that window from the kitchen side, nobody was there, my dad (Who was the only other person home at the time) was napping in his room with the door closed for hours at that point.

    Obligatorily, because nobody else ever mentions this (I checked): I need to point out that most alien abduction stories can be explained through sleep paralysis. I suggest you do research on the topic if you are not familiar with it. It is rarely talked about in western cultures.
    Especially when they say "Being afraid makes them seek you out" it rings an alarm bell for me, because that's exactly when one tends to hallucinate during sleep paralysis - when you're afraid. Sleep paralysis can be accompanied by auditory, visual, and tactile hallucinations. For example the feeling of being lifted out of bed (abduction stories, anyone?) is rather common.

    • @misanthropiclusion
      @misanthropiclusion ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah people often over estimate both their own memories and their own sense when the reality is that we constantly hallucinate things, most mundane ones is thinking someone talked to you at home when theres either nobody or there is another person but they said nothing, so we put so much trust into what we see or hear that we forget our body just makes all this shit up on the spot basically.
      It's not about having like "bad memory" it really is just how bodies work and not remembering things correctly and filling blanks to make it make sense to us because our brains are wired that way.

Despite every physical measurement indicating that their latest esoteric modification to their sound system (grounding box of dirt, thicker power cables, sanding CD edges, etc) makes no difference, they INSIST that they can hear an improvement and that clearly there must be some kind of layer beyond what's physically measurable. They got their reasoning backwards. They can hear a difference, so it's clearly the measurements that must be wrong. Except the human body is a terrible measurement device and you should instead convince yourself that your experience is what's wrong.

    pretty sure one of the shadowmen was evil since my dog refused to go near him (I was taking him for a walk).
    I thought it was just a normal dude standing under a flickering streetlight. When I looked at my dog who wasn't moving, just staring at the dude and looked back to the men he was gone. Within the blink of an eye. I tried to find the men but couldn't see him anywhere and then my dog started walking again like nothing ever happened xD

    Joel, please read it! This is not a joke! I have a story about UFOs in Russia. And when I listen to yours, I understand that I did not feel this fear alone, this nightmares every night after what I saw and the apparent figures that I imagined after waking up.
    I was also about 8-9 years old. I'm from Russia, we don't often travel by car around the country, mostly using trains, but we had to get from Izhevsk to Yekaterinburg, and we drove through the Perm Region, it has always been known for the fact that incomprehensible things happen in it, which can hardly be explained, there is a split at the earth's surface, and high electromagnetic activity.
    First of all, I want to note that when we were going to go at night, the local motel owner told us: "don't drive there at night, cars disappear there, be careful!" Of course, we were skeptical about this, the three of us were in the car: me, my mom and my uncle.
    We drove by car at night, on an absolutely empty highway, everything was calm at first, but then we saw two glowing blue disks hanging from the side of the car in the side window, they were at a fairly large distance, however, we were not particularly scared at first, until something more nightmarish happened: my uncle pushing the maximum speed on his Ford Explorer, we were driving very fast, exactly more than 100 km/h and it took exactly a second for the UFOs to disappear from sight in the rear window and reappear in front of the car, we drove at high speed for a very long time, however, they disappeared and appeared already in front of the car many times, eventually then completely disappearing from view.
    My uncle, however, is a geologist, a man who traveled all over Siberia by car alone and I did not see such fear in anyone, he even said:
    - At the worst outcome, we will shoot back!
    (He had a gun in the trunk of his car, which he was allowed to use when attacking or scaring off wild animals on his expeditions in the North.)
    It's still hard for me to tell it, it shocked me and change my mindset completely!

Nothing particular caught my attention, but there were 3 "stars" in a shape of a pyramide. Like dots of 3 corners. One of those stars flied away in a straight line, the other "star" was all over the sky, like mosquito and third one stayed in the same place and disappeared after these two flied away

    My general rule about stories of the paranormal is that even if you don't believe that stuff exists, the feelings that person experienced WERE real. It's kind of dickish to hear someone's story where they very obviously felt real terror and say "nah you're crazy, that shit didn't happen." I personally don't believe in the supernatural or anything spiritual (aliens is a tough one honestly), but I don't scoff at people's stories because that's rude.
