I don't know about McDonalds, but at Sonic I was trained to take the burgers off the grill for a few minutes before putting cheese on them to _prevent_ the cheese from melting. For some reason an unmelted shingle of krapt cheese is what they want their customer to experience when ordering a cheeseburger, not a warm meat patty with melty cheese soaking into it from above.

What makes me suspicious that the meme is being forced is the fact that Reviewbrah reviewed the shake before it became a meme, and he said it tasted fine. Just couldn't quite place the flavor. And his reviews are objective facts, so it must be a completely fine shake.

Joel, I said this to Vinny and now I apparently need to say it to you, because while you didn't completely buy it, you seemed semi-convinced enough: NO, THE GRIMACE SHAKE MEME WAS NOT ORCHESTRATED OR PAID FOR BY MCDONALD'S. The first people to do it were literal nobodies, they weren't big influencers McDonald's approached with a bizarre, out-of-fat-air pitch to make videos of the Grimace Shake suddenly killing them. It's absurdist zoomer humor/liminal horror that TikTok latched onto in record time because it's TikTok. And frankly, it's the funniest new meme I've seen all year. With how short and simple with weirdly high production effort they are, it kinda reminds me of the Vine days, where you had an extremely short amount of time to actually be funny.
The true absurdist horror is that Gen Z thinks this is funny, and I say that as a Zoomer. TikTok is giving many people the subway surfer brain rot.

I don't care what the meme is rendered in. The meme is stupid and not funny. I'm not even salty about it, because the Grimace Shake meme is, fittingly, nothing but cultural fast food. It is there to be consumed briefly and then forgotten about, and it has no significance other than being emblematic of the brainrot TikTok and social media inflict on people. I'm as capable of being salty about it as I am of being salty about the weather.
There is a galaxy of difference between le funni purple man shake lean deathtweak fr fr no cap animation and something like Eltorro64rus's work. TF2 and gmod machinima require actual effort and creativity. The Grime Shake meme is not funny even with context. Most TF2 machinima is funny and entertaining even without it because it's legitimately good animation.
For the same reasons, TF2 and gmod machinima have been popular with people going back well before Gen Z was coming into its own as a generation, and are still popular today; Grimace Shake will be forgotten within months, if that.
