HI, thank you for your review and feedback, all very useful. Just a couple of points of note for you. The upgrade to the new resin clips for these units was made for 2 main practical reasons. The clip actually costs twice the cost of the original stainless option, this was not cost saving at all. A. we moved to the resin clip because this reduces the chance of bi-metallic charge between the two metals. This also reduces radio signal interference which helps protect the Bluetooth function. B. simply because of mass keeper feedback. Many keepers were struggling with both metal damage and being able to fit lamps in the hard stainless. The resin option reduces interference and allows safe but more easy fitting and removal.
We are also now starting to see a correlation between signal failure and some glass, especially the hardened glass mandated for cages 3' or over. We will offer website advice very soon, but it may pay until then to open the cage where safe to do so when transmitting a signal if the lamp is fitted within a cage just to be sure that optimal connection for bluetooth is possible.
We have been listening to very good practical app function feedback from around the world intently, and will be issuing a very helpful app update very very soon, this is planned for the beginning of feb if the tests complete as expected. Of course, we are always looking to refine and tune this system so that it becomes the easiest and most reliable available. This will mean multiple app updates over the years as we learn more and more and tech improves. Please enable 'auto update' for the LumenIZE app wherever possible.
best wishes and thanks to all keepers! J C-S

Thank you for explaining this John, I very much look forward to seeing the updates and information gathered from testing in all vivarium styles and materials. I hope this didn't come across as a negative review, more just an honest one after dealing with a couple of issues first hand.

Nice and informative video. I wasn't aware the app was THIS bad so I'll definitely wait it out now and use my money on a humistat instead.

It's definitely usable, just a little frustrating. The lighting as a whole is still worth it I would say.

Nice informative video, I’d just like to make a correction on crested geckos being crepuscular… this is not observed in wild populations at all. The key distinction on which to define a crepuscular creature is that they sleep at night, they hide in the day, awake, resting, but they sleep at night. This is definitely not the case with cresties, yes they are very active at dusk and dawn but they do not do all of their sleeping during the night. There are very few points in the night that they are not active to some degree. Just being active at dusk and dawn isn’t enough to define as crepuscular… most humans are active at either the matutinal or vespertine sides of crepuscular but we are definitely diurnal creatures. Hope that makes sense and again nice video! 👍✌️

Hi, thank you and I completely understand your point but they are widely described as crepuscular or nocturnal so I don't think I am going against any common knowledge or doing any injustice by saying crepuscular in my video. Thank you for the comment and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
